Hillandale Caravan Parks Reviews 

We've been to lots of parks over the years, but this was the first to make us seriously think about buying a holiday home. Everything about it is perfect for us. The location is amazing, and the staff are incredible - nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel so welcome.

We had a fantastic weekend site is perfect clean / tidy and the park managers couldn’t of been more friendly they couldn’t do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable

We have just returned home after a super stay at the Hay on Wye site for the Book Festival, we had stayed there before as well as another site , just over the hill, over the last 13 years. You have improved on the "very Good" and I love the little tweaks, such as the new Dyson Hand dryers. We have already provisionally booked for next year but requested an east /west plot so I can get my Sat. dish to work as TV reception isn't the greatest. Shame the Internet was playing up on our next to last day, bl---y teck. Thanks to all the staff , super.

We were greeted by Jenny last night at the entrance and If I had a business this lady would be my choice for meet and greet Jenny is happy to help,really plesent and very good at her role!!! Firstly the camping grounds are immaculate. The loos and showers are spotlessly clean. Secondly the staff were so helpful and accommodating; we were delayed in arriving after a 3+hour journey and they were so very understanding and helpful. Can’t recommend enough!

Hay on Wye Caravan Park - The site was immaculate, the new owners are really friendly and have taken pride in setting the place up... and of course it is still a great location for the book festival...

We stopped at lickhil caravan park in Stourport on seven and were met by Andy and Jenny who were fantastic on many occasions. we had never been there before and on arrival were made to feel very welcome. It was a very pleasant experience staying there and we will definitely use the site again as it was very clean and well maintained all the staff couldn't do enough for us.

We had been here before and loved it. However this time with the new new couple running it was fantastic. They couldn't do enough for us. Helped us move to a wonderful spot and we had a great time. Thank you. We will be back soon

We’ve just had a wonderful break in Hay on Wye - a super site, spotlessly clean and really quiet. Friendly and with easy access on foot across the fields to the festival 🏕️ 📚

Jenny, the warden was incredibly helpful when we arrived late with a mouldy, wet tent without any tent pegs and broken tent poles (always check your tent bag after lending it to teenagers!). We also didn't have an electrical hook up convertor. She saved us upon each new discovery with a smile and friendliness that we really didn't deserve. The shower blocks are clean and well maintained. The site is lovely, the pitch big and thanks to Jenny we are looking forward to the rest of our stay.

We have recently upgraded our caravan at Coppice Leisure Park, and cannot speak highly enough of the manner in which this was dealt with by all staff concerned. Coppice is a beautiful park, exceptionally well laid out and and maintained to a high standard. There is always a good selection of high quality caravans for sale and for anyone thinking of purchasing one I would suggest this as a first port of call.

We have had a caravan on the Glen for six years now The staff have always been helpful and friendly, and do all they can if we have any problems. The park is always clean and tidy. It's a great place to be and feel relaxed

We recently sold our caravan at Morfa Bychan back to Hillandale at a knockdown price as the agreement does not allow private sale. Be very careful if you purchase a caravan from these people. There is no negotiation around the agreement they get you to sign and they use every opportunity to take advantage. They charged us for replacement flooring which was exactly the same when we purchased it second hand. Unfortunately we had no photos to prove it. Tried to charge for hall carpet saying it was stained but retracted that when we asked for photos. The worst part is the agreement allows for refund of pitch fees when the pitch is relet. We sold our van to them early in the season which allowed for sale by 30 September and therefore refund of 45% of the pitch fee. They sold the van quickly, being second hand but they deliberately moved it off pitch and replaced with a new van costing around £50k. Clearly this wasn’t going to sell quickly and when challenged they said the rule is when the pitch is relet not when the caravan is sold. The van has been sold for some months now but we will not get our ground rent back, around £1400. This is totally underhand and not in the spirit of the agreement entered into. They are unscrupulous and not to be trusted. We believe in treating people with dignity, integrity and honesty in life but unfortunately not everyone is the same. Hopefully what goes around, comes around and in the long term we hope their business approach is reflected in their results.

The Glen site is a beautiful place, very well kept and the site wardens and ground staff are really lovely, and very kind and helpful. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for head office Management/Director.
I had the very unfortunate experience of having to deal with the Manager/Director when my husband passed away very suddenly recently. We had only bought the caravan from Hillandale in April 2021 and used it till October 2021, we added over £3k worth of decking in the August 2021. Due to my bereavement and new financial predicament I found myself in I asked if Hillandale would help me by either buying it back off me or help me sell it. I knew I would lose out on the deal but was not prepared for what took place. I was offered less than half of what I paid for it just a few months earlier and nothing for the new decking, I found the managers attitude very patronising and at times condescending. He tried very hard to exploit my grief and take advantage of my unfortunate situation at every turn and at a very vulnerable time in my life. We finally agreed a price which was still very low, but I was grieving and at the lowest point in my life and needed this negotiation over with so that I could get back to grieving the loss of my husband of 47 years.
Then there was a discrepancy with the gas and electric meter readings, fortunately I had taken photos of the meters at the end of my last visit and sent in the photo, I was told it was human error and corrected, but what would have happened if I did not have the proof of meter readings!

The Glen Caravan Park is one of Hillandale group sites. We do not advise buying a holiday home here. Our experience turned sour when new unfriendly managers took over. Worst mistake we made buying on this site. If you speak up or have an opinion you get ostracised. Sell sell sell. That's all they care about.
