Their bad rep is pretty deserved. Smart TV aspects work badly, hasn't had an update since 2018 and the Internet is buggy. It makes an OK basic 4k TV, it hasn't broken and nothing is working a... See more

Don't buy anything Hitachi, especially from Argos

Exactly the same as the other 100+ reviews on here! Bought a 50" Hitachi TV from Argos in mid 2022, late 2023 (not so surprisingly now after reading the other reviews on TP, it was just after the guarantee had ended) and permanent horizontal lines started appearing on the screen. These lines gradually got worse, and then the flickering started, and again this gradually got worse! Seems to be a very common occurrence with Hitachi tvs bought around the same time, and especially ones bought from Argos, which leads me to wonder if they knew about this issue from the start, as there has been nothing from them about product recalls or offers of refunds, only complete silence and the product in question not available anymore! Absolutely disgusting from Hitachi and even more so from Argos! Safe to say I will not be using Argos for electronic purchases anymore, nor buying anything Hitachi ever again!!

55 inch smart hitachi TV

We purchased two new 55 inch hitachi smart TVs when we moved back in January 2022, from Argos. One of these had to be replaced after less than a month. Two years on and we have neither, as one lost all pictures about six months ago, but kept perfect sound, and back light was working. The second TV did exactly the same last night. Very poor purchase.

I Bought a Hitachi Tv 58 Inch

I Bought a Hitachi Tv 58 Inch, 4k, smart etc. Screen went after 18 months and warranty only lasts 1 year. Total rubbish. The screen now has a ghosting of previous pictures in the background, the screen has totally gone. I have read lots of reviews regarding their tvs and this seems to happen a lot and only after around 18 months. How can Hitachi sell these tvs if their not fit for purpose???

Rubbish due to poor performance!

I cannot comment on every issue but audio only with blue screen is annoying and have to switch off continually! Trying to watch YouTube is so unreliable! I watched a video and then the TV becomes unresponsive or. Just freezes! There are other issues with the TV and I only wished that I had listened to my son and spent more money on a decent set!

Bought 4 Hitachi 58" tvs for a flight…

Bought 4 Hitachi 58" tvs for a flight simulator, dont get used much, 1st one got lines over screen 13 months old cant fix it however wil say Argos refunded this TV as a good will gesture, however the law states that a tv should last a reasonable time, and 13 months is not reasonable, went up tonight and the other tv now just constantly resets itself, so back on to Argos tomorrow theres obviously an issue with these cheap and nasty tvs

Hitachi 58 Inch 58HK6200U…

I bought Hitachi 58 Inch 58HK6200U Smart 4K UHD HDR LED Freeview TV951/7453 on 30.06.23, just over 5 months ago. TV keeps switching itself off and on every minute or two, more than 30 times in last hour. Changed batteries in remote, switched off at wall and off/on at remote. No improvement. Hoping to receive response to my complaint with Argos, Hitachi helpline of no help. Would not recommend Hitachi.

Terrible reliability

Terrible reliability - got one in 2020 and it failed one month out of warrenty with ghosting and flickering on the display. Bought another one and it failed 9 months later with the same ghosting and flickering issue on the display. Got that one replaced as it was still under warrenty and now this replacement one LESS THAN 4 MONTHS LATER has started constantly rebooting itself after 1min 20 secs. Absolute garbage TV's.
