DON'T SIGN UP! Terrible experience. I signed up in October '24 as a gift to my husband, but we only received 2 books in the many months. I've been trying to email to stop the money coming out of my ac... See more

My Favourite New Subscription
Cannot fault hand me down books at all! The packaging is recycled, and recyclable, the books were in great condition and I got a good mix of my favourite genres. Bonus couple of teabags so I could have a nice brew while I cosied into my books. The wrapping is actually adorable and photographed really well for Instagram (important). Out of the 4 books I received I only owned one already (and haven’t actually read it) but that’s not the fault of the company and I know they’ll never send me the same book twice. Great price too!
Happy overall
Happy overall, a nice surprise each month, definitely some that I wouldn’t have picked myself which has been good to expand my reading

Wasn't impressed with the books I received unfortunately. I love the concept but I will probably not end up reading the books I received.

Best book club
Great selection of preloved books delivered in plastic free packaging with a tea bag. What more could you ask for?! The most recent book I could hardly put down so great reads too.
Really happy!
Really happy with my book bundle! Well packaged and lovely personal touch with clipper tea bag

Had a wobbly with my first book delivery (totally my fault!) Spoke to someone lovely who sorted it really fast and I had replacement books arrived in the next few days and they are an excellent choice. If you're thinking about this, do it!!!
Excellent
Great books and well packaged in environmentally friendly paper packaging. Momma is happy!

Absolutely lovely idea and books came it not only wrapped like a present but also in good quality . Couldn’t be more happier
Excellent first delivery
My first delivery arrived of 20 books and there was a good variety of the different genres I had requested. The books were wrapped in separate parcels that were beautifully wrapped in recycled paper and string and each parcel had an individual variety of tea attached to it which was a lovely personal touch. All the books were in great condition. I would recommend them highly and cannot wait for my next delivery.
Fantastic Choice
Excellent choice of books sent in my first box and fantastic customer care. I can't wait for my future boxes!
Definitely recommend to all readers!
Had a subscription for 3 months now and…
Had a subscription for 3 months now and I've never read so much in my life. The quality of the books may as well be brand new, but have that warm secondhand feel to them. Each book I've received I've read from start to finish within a week. I have books on my bookshelf that I've bought for myself that I just can't get into. I don't know how Secondhand Bookclub know me more than I do! I recommend an annual subscription for the discount because there's no doubt you'll be as hooked as I am!
Great books
Great books, great initiative. I’m on my third delivery now and each bundle has been thoroughly enjoyable
A lovely selection of books
A lovely selection of books, a wonderful surprise and all of them are books I’m excited to read! Cant recommend enough!
Great concept, poor execution
Hand Me Down Book Club is a great concept, I love the idea of a second hand book subscription service, however the books I've received I would never have picked for myself. I dislike the authors and they are so very dated. I could have got the books I received in a charity shop for £1 each so paying £9.99 a month for books I can find cheaper elsewhere... I'm not sure I'll be continuing long term. I'd like to see some more contemporary authors being included. But it's only the first box I've got so maybe it will get better.
