The owner Jay Press has defrauded me out of $1,420.00. I paid for my RCP track on May 24th and he has not shipped anything and refuses to refund my money. I am pursuing a civil and criminal case against him.

The owner of this company is a scam artist and a real cockroach. He’s stolen thousands and thousands of dollars from people on Facebook.

Ripoff central........Do Not Purchase anything from this place. Go to OCRC or AMAIN! Won't return calls or emails but will gladly take your money for parts he will never ship.

I purchase an order every year from them! Great service, and always willing to go an extra step to get what we many need!

Ordered multiple items mid-November for nearly $1,000, and after a week of no info from the shop, I emailed. "Ran out right before you ordered. Waiting on restock." I asked for a refund after more ignored emails and BS. Then... more silence. Won't return voicemails or emails. The shop finally replied to a message on Facebook saying they would cancel and refund my order. Then they clarified that the refund won't be issued until the end of December. They process refunds "on the 25th of each month."

In short, they lie about inventory just to get your money; then they lie about their ability to get new inventory just to keep your money; and then, finally, even after they've reluctantly agreed to issue a refund, they say it's going to be weeks before they get to it.

Did I mention they still show this product as In Stock? They also still show it as In Stock on their eBay store. Just an unbelievably deceptive and hostile business.

January 2023 update - the 25th of December (his arbitrary single day of the month for issuing refunds) came and went with no refund. They’ve now been holding my money (about $1,000) for over 6 weeks. On Facebook messenger he told me: “If you want your money faster, call your credit card company and file a dispute.” Astonishing. I’ve never encountered such open hostility and anti-consumer conduct from a small business owner before.

Ordered a RC plane the site said was in stock. Month and a half later, still no plane, no response to my inquiry email, message machine was full so I couldn’t leave a phone message. Trying to figure out how to get my $500 back. Very bad experience.

Jay is very helpful and will get what you’re looking for.

Socal was friendly and knowledgeable in finding what you were looking for.

I have edited this since my first post (1 star) as I have managed to get things resolved... However, it took nearly 3 months to get all of my order delivered...

Now I do appreciate people are busy - but communication is key, delivering what you sell is essential, especially if you sell online. I didnt receive the best of service to say the least. Im sure he has taken this on board hence me adjusting my feedback.

This site is a joke customer service is horrible the refund policy completely sucks on top of that there sold out of everything and they don't restock so they have no problem taking your money .but good luck getting it back I still have yet to see my money back and it's been 5 weeks and still no refund ........socal hobbies is 100% b i t c h made .a scam .and rip-off

Jay goes above and beyond for great customer service. Highly recommend buying from him.

Zero communication just excuses after placing an order over two weeks ago and the product is not even shipped yet.

I started my RC hobby a few weeks ago and my first purchase was the Kyosho HOR Motorcycle. The team at SoCal Hobbies was extremely helpful during my purchase. This specific RC has been on back order for some time but they had one in stock. The sales rep offered recommendations for certain electronics that have been discontinued by the manufacturer and directed me to a few RC forums and websites to assist with the build.

Great honest place more about helping you find enjoyment at a fair price rather then just take your money and sell you expensive stuff you are not ready for and will just break….

Great experience at SoCal Hobbies. Jay is very knowledgeable and passionate about all things RC. He guided me through making a choice as a beginner. I will definitely be back when I’m ready to upgrade.
