These people are con artists

These people are con artists. In a nutshell, you pay $59 a month to be charged hourly for services. You have to pay $105 to quit the service before 6 months. Their salespeople lie through omission and overtly. Do not use this company. Google the number of lawsuits against them.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a cleaning service

Jose, the cleaner, walked into my apartment and asked to videotape my place. I denied him permission. He said it was because people complained about his work and he needed proof. I again denied him permission. So he called his supervisor and his supervisor also told him no (I could hear him on the phone). The cleaner was incompetent, came without supplies despite my indicating on the app that i needed the cleaner to bring supplies. He cleaned for less than 90 minutes of a 4 hour appointment and claimed he was done. None of the table or furniture surfaces had been cleaned, he cleaned the tubs with paper towels and the soap residue was still on them, he didn’t even attempt to clean the shower walls or clean the glass surfaces. He went through my cabinets looking for supplies without my permission. He had to go buy a mop and came back 30” later claiming he couldn’t find one and had to leave. He said his office would call to either discount my visit or send someone else to finish. This was 2.5 hours into a 4 hour appointment. So I told him I found it hard to believe he couldn’t find a mop when I know three different places within a 3 block distance where they sell mops. He got angry that I was questioning him as my phone rang. It was Homeaglow calling to follow up and asking what was happening, so I proceeded to tell the woman on the line how dissatisfied I was with Jose, the cleaner. Then he started screaming at me that I was lying and began walking around my apartment taking video footage that both his supervisor and I had denied him permission to do. I told him to stop and get out. He refused and kept walking around my apartment videotaping. Them I finally had to grab his coat to keep him from moving around and shoved his backpack into his chest and screamed at him to get out. He finally left and started banging on my door stating he left his charger. So i refused to open the door until he was far enough away. Then he screamed at me from the hallway an offensive statement relating to male genitalia that I cannot use here. The Homeaglow office was on the line the entire time and heard everything. She asked me to call customer support and claimed she was unable to do anything from her end. I called them immediately and have not heard back. So, I emailed and sent a formal complaint letter to their corporate office and will file a formal complaint with NYC authorities as well.

WARNING!!! WARNING!!!

The $19 first cleaning charge is very deceptive. It will end up costing you hundreds in reocurring monthly fees because of automatic membership and expensive cancelation fees. It happened to me and I want you to know it will happen to you too if you use this company. I wrote this review to prevent people from the costly use of Homeaglow. They have a "F" rating with the BBB.

Poor practices

Hello Emma,

Thank you for the response.

Unfortunately, credits toward future appointments do not resolve the issue, as I canceled the service and do not intend to schedule additional cleanings.

Because the membership and early termination charges were not clearly understood during the purchase process, I have proceeded with the dispute through my bank regarding the February and March membership charges and the $265.21 termination charge.

My bank will contact you as part of their investigation.

Thank you,
Andrew

High pressure …

I was contacted by this company after showing interest online, and the call quickly felt like high-pressure sales. The representative would not let me get off the phone and kept pushing the membership even after I explained I wasn’t interested in a long-term commitment.

I understood the membership part — realistically, professional cleaners cannot provide services for $19 without a subscription. My main concern was the length of commitment. When I said I would only want to try the service for two months, I was told it required a six-month commitment, which I declined.

I also want to speak out of respect for the cleaners themselves. Cleaners are there to maintain and clean a home — not to handle unsafe or extreme conditions. They go home to their own families, so clients should prepare their space so the cleaner can work safely and efficiently. When expectations are reasonable, everyone benefits.

To be clear, I am not defending the company’s sales approach — I am defending the hardworking cleaners. Because of the aggressive sales experience, I chose not to move forward.

i got scammed by this company two years…

i got scammed by this company two years ago - they start charging for services NOT rendered. then randomly started charging my credit card seven months ago - the down side of going "paperless" - getting that refunded now - but don't use this company,. The cleaners they send have NO CLUE how to clean anything.

Buyer be ware!! DO NOT USE!!

Buyer be ware!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!

Before you make a decision make sure you fully understand all the hidden fees - monthly membership fee, cancelation fees, variable hourly cleaning rates). These were not disclosed to me upfront and had I known about them I would never have agreed to use them. Trying to cancel the service is a nightmare and you can’t get a live person on the phone to assist you.

Overall the company has terrible disclosure policies and horrible client support.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience! There are hidden fees! I asked my cleaner if she could come an hour later and she agreed. She asked me to change it in the app so I did. Homeglow charged me an additional $64 dollars in “priority” fees stating any changes made within 48 hours are considered priority. There is also a per cleaning service charge on top of the hourly cleaning rate on top of the $59 monthly charge. It is a scam!! Four hours of cleaning for $187.00.

Stay away from this company! SCAM

Stay away from this company at all costs. They are very deceptive in th way they charge you. I had 1 appointment in which there was an unauthorized person that came to clean my elderly parents house. Yes, a complete stranger showed up for the appointment ( they usually send you name and picture of who is supposed to show up). Homeaglow does not have a customer service phone number. They only way to contact them is through email. I reported this unauthorized person, got a boilerplate response that stated they were sorry and that they were investigating. I've been emailing them for status for WEEKS with no response. Then today, for another appointment ( I'm currently locked in to their forever clean contract) the cleaner didn't even bother to show up, even though they confirmed not even 24 hours prior to the appointment. I've been calling and messaging the cleaner with no response. The only way to cancel my contract is to pay them the remainder of the $59 monthly charge. This company is shady as hell and unbelievably unprofessional. I am writing my experiences to hopefully save someone else the aggravation and money. And it's not even about the money. They advertise that they vet all of their cleaners, which I can tell you straight out is a lie. THERE WAS A STRANGER IN MY PARENTS HOUSE.

Never use Homeaglow

They put me into a 6 month plan when I never agreed to that. It is now telling me i have to pay 114 to cancel or wait 6 months and keep paying 60 dollars until that 6 months ends. I had none of this information when I booked my first cleaning. Completely unreliable business. Very upset.

Be careful

When you request a cleaning, you are automatically enrolled for at least 6 months and pay a monthly fee of $59. I tried to find where they previously advised, but couldn't. I ended up paying 3 monthly fees x $59 = $177, a penalty of $210 for cancelling 3 months early on a subscription I didn´t know I had, plus $39 for the first cleaning with the special offer, and $159 for the following 2 monthly services = $318. Total of $744 for 3 house cleanings. Even being a great service, it´s not a fair price and above all, not a transparent transaction.

Hidden Fees

The assigned cleaner outsourced their work so I never knew who would be coming to my home. And the customer service was terrible. There were so many hidden fees. Ended up paying 390 for a single cleaning/ending my membership early.

SCAM!

SCAM!! DECEPTIVE!! Homeaglow was not clear on their fees. I had, in writing, that I wouldn’t be charged until my 1st cleaning was completed, but there was a $39 charge on my debit card 24 hrs before my scheduled cleaning. I scheduled a 4 hr cleaning that was to be from 1-5. The cleaner was an hour late, and only stayed for 2.5 hrs. I received an email that Homeaglow was giving me .25 hrs credit voucher for not using my full 4 hrs. This should have been a voucher for 1.5 hrs. I reached out to customer support 3 times to get the voucher corrected with no response AND another charge to my card for $59. When I tried to cancel they wanted another $132 for early cancellation, and since I cancelled my debit card to avoid further fees, the cancellation request didn’t work. If I were to pay the cancellation fee, that 2.5 hr cleaning (which wasn’t thorough) would have cost me $232. Good luck collecting more money from me, Homeaglow!!

The worst company

The worst company. Absolute scam. The cleaners never come and they charge more. They also reschedule just before and say there was a 'lockout' and charge you full price even though they never cleaned

I signed up for a one-time cleaning due to moving. Next thing I know my card is/was being charged bi-weekly. After learning that there is no customer support, I cancelled THEIR AUTOMATED selection of biweekly cleanings, and they are still charging my card. Will be filing complaints on every review website and will take legal action,
