Most of the stress was relieved from our side!

Dan relieved so much of the burden from me and Juliet. He worked very hard to secure us a mortgage offer and ensured the interest rate was at the lowest possible.

We completed a couple days ago and are so glad that everything went over smoothly. He helped us find the solicitors and the different companies that did different types of surveys.

We could not be more grateful for his hard work.

Mortgage made easy!

Dan and his colleague Joanne were knowledgeable, contactable and friendly throughout my remortgage process.
From the first phone call with Dan I felt reassured and in safe hands. He is clearly an absolute expert at what he does as well as being an extremely personable and good natured individual.

Very poor customer service, always chasing

Very poor experience from the start. Always had to chase to find out what was happening. Had the survey been booked, did it go ahead, when was I going to get my report. The dashboard is a joke. I have just checked and despite my survey being carried out on 13 th May and having finally received my report outside of the 5-7 days quoted it still says it is due to happen on the 9th May. Definitely won’t be using them again and it makes me question how good my level 3 survey actually is.
Update my complaint was dealt with quickly and I received a £50 refund. I hope the dashboard works for others and my comments were acted on.

Bad pactices and poor service

Very bad practices looking to pressure you into paying the higher quotes they provide.

You pay in advance and let the drivers know this. There is no assurance you will get the money back.

Through GDPR i requested my information to be removed, they sent an email saying they did. It turns out I can still login and see all the details. So i believe they lied.

I would suggest to avoid there services and look up local movers yourself. They will normally ask for a small deposit, but not full payment like these.

Edit for reply: Since ive done the review my account has been wiped, but no reply from email this time. I did test incognito before. They just didnt wipe my account, but said they did. Oh phone was the pressure selling. No assurances were given like in the reply below. I wrote this review after the email stating they cleared my account.

From what I was told the homemove are just a middle man to get in contact with local movers. The actual move isnt there responsibility. Akin to MyBuilder where MyBuilder is just linking you up to a builder. It is therefore perfectly valid to review there core service before even moving.

My justification for the 1 star is exactly as the site implies. I had lost trust.

I’m genuinely sorry you’ve come away feeling pressured and mistrustful - that’s the exact opposite of the experience we want for people who reach out to us. What we offer is a quick estimate and then work behind the scenes to match or beat it - but our quote tool uses an algorithm and isn't always accurate which is why we only take payment once its been finalised - there is zero pressure, or should be zero pressure, in taking that quote and you declined it as is your right.

On the advance payment / “higher quote” concern: Our pricing model is fixed-fee, up front so that there are no surprises on moving day. We only request 100% of the payment if its close to the move-in date otherwise we wouldn't be able to guarantee you peace of mind with an allocated driver. If the move didn't happen.

On your GDPR deletion request: You’re right: if deletion is completed you shouldn’t still be able to log in but we do also have a 1 month window to comply and we did action it immediately, we aren't sure how you were still able to login and I escalated this to our data-protection officer for immediate investigation. If you try again with a private / incognito browser it should be inaccessible.

Refund assurance: Any advance payment is held in a segregated client account and is refundable in full right up to driver assignment
2 weeks before, otherwise we charge 50% if its up to 48 hours before move-in and 100% if it's after that. This is pretty standard practice because last minute drop-outs cost us the chance to fulfil another move.

Edit for reply: that’s not how our business model works Alistair - we’re not a lead generator. Your move would have been our soul responsibility - we have a network of drivers across the country. I can understand why the perceived model you have in mind would frustrate you and why you’d request GDPR deletion with that model which is exactly why we don’t use it. Who wants to be called by five random removal companies? Nope not me either.

You pay homemove, we move you. I feel you may have got the wrong end of the stick so I’d be happy to have a chat and understand how it was sold to you including the pressure tactics employed as that’s something we do not condone.

Daniel Webster my broker has such a…

Daniel Webster my broker has such a positive attitude and response from the beginning of our interaction. It was" trust me, you're in good hands" especially with someone I have never met.
Excellent work showing he is very knowledgeable about his work even patient enough to deal with my impatience. Even dealing with insurance and others, once I raise an issue, Daniel would respond -let me do the research and you choose. The delay we had was more from the seller.
I would be recommending Daniel and the company anytime 100%.

Hugh at homemove was 2nd to none from…

Hugh at homemove was 2nd to none from start to finish. Answerd all my questions I asked about my booking for my level 2 house survey, paid for my survey which was at a great price. Then the survey was handled by Gold Crest surveys who rang me the next day to say that they had a cancellation that day, a very detailed survey was emailed to me four days later. A thank-you to everyone for a great service.

Second to none customer service …

After only 10 days notice for completion on a house move we contacted Homemove. I was in panic mode, the staff on sales and post sales were fantastic, their customer service was second to none. They reassured me everything was in place for removal and storage. They worked in conjuction with Albert Miles who loaded and unloaded, worked at pace and extremely hard. The grandfather clock with a fine glass case was treated with extra care and landed with no damage. All in all a very smooth process from beginning to end. Thanks to all involved.

I can't recommend Homemove enough! From start to finish, their support has been outstanding. James, there CEO got involved, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure I felt heard and supported. Daniel was absolutely brilliant from start.
Nothing was too much trouble.
He was supportive and professional through the whole process and I have ended up with my dream home which I didn't think it was achievable.
Dan was realistic and honest. He spent a massive amount of time ensuring that I was getting the best deal and explored a multitude of lenders.
Couldn't recommend Dan enough.

Remortgage

Recently renewed our mortgage as previous deal was expiring. Whole procedure from initial consultation to completion was made really easy. Daniel was brilliant explaining each step and keeping us informed as everything progressed. Daniel listened to what our needs were and found a deal that matched, and has overall saved us a lot and made a huge difference for us! Andy from Homemove was very helpful and…

Andy from Homemove was very helpful and professional in finding a removal company that would help us move house.
Three polite and strong men from the company Albert Myles came and made this move as stress free as they possibly could. They were extremely accommodating and did not waste any time in loading and unloading our belongings.
They were very careful in handling our items and were respectful of the new property, ensuring nothing was left dirty.
Considering the 2hr45 min journey and the fact they took everything (as long as there was space), they charged a very reasonable price.
Extremely efficient, punctual and professional - I would highly recommend!

Efficient and Great Communication!

Homemove were great and efficient in arranging my Homebuyers survey. From initially requesting their services, they were at the property in 7 days carrying out the survey. The detailed report was then sent to us 2 days later.

The communication was great throughout and their AI chatbot was really useful. I could use the chatbot any time of day and get the required help and information I needed. I’ve never seen a chatbot respond as well as the one utilised by Homemove.

I would recommend Homemove to anyone and would definitely use them again!

Hugh's service was outstanding. He was thorough whenever I needed advice and prompt when returning calls or answering queries. He assured me of the price point and directed me to trust pilot for reviews.
I initially believed we would need a level 3 survey but after talking to Hugh it was determined that a level 2 was sufficient for our needs, no upselling occurred which was quite the contrary considering my experience with other surveyors. Hugh took the time to assure me when I needed it, was patient and didn't rush the sale. I was sent 'mock' surveys so I could further make the correct decision and when finally ready to proceed, stayed on the line until I was confident the transaction was complete. Amazing customer service!
Once the survey is complete and the report received, I will write another review for the surveyor.
Shoutout to Megan who booked the company, she too was awesome!
