They didn't tell the hotel that they "paid" for the room so then they charged me (for hotel savings) and my fiancé on his credit card at the hotel. His was cheaper than mine, might I add and now they... See more

Ripoff
I had a flight cancel which kept me from
Arriving on the scheduled day. When I called to explain he said our policy is to charge full rate because you did not cancel within 24 hours. Duh!!! NEVER NEVER use them!
FRADULENT, Rip-off, overcharged, disreputable company, NEVER USE THIS WEBSITE.
Made reserversation, thought it would be $106 room, charged my credit card for $156. When I called back to cancel, they said would be 7-10 to get $ back. Waited, no refund, called again, and they had no record of my cancelling, said it could be up to 30 days to get $ back on my credit card. Asked to speak to supervisor, left my # three different times, no one called back. Everytime I called, was put on hold and left there. Spoke with a Jean, then a Mike, then a Maddy, then a Kensky, all with thick foreign accent, difficult to communicate with them. WHERE IS THIS COMPANY BASED FROM? Such a sham/FRAUDULENT COMPANY. They also said they were Expedia??? LIED,LIED,LIED....
Very shady company!
I can understand that every company needs a gimmick or something to attract customers, but this company is not above board. They state that they are much less expensive than booking rooms directly, but that is NOT true at all! First, for booking a room you automatically are charged $9.95, but this is found ONLY if you read the "Tax & fees" link that you have to click on next to the "tax" figure. I blame myself for not clicking that button, but the price of my room went from $59.99 (as listed), to $90 and change after I booked. I thought, "what the heck? a 50% tax on rooms in Tennessee?" I called the company and they had charged me $81.42 for a room that was listed as $59.99. When I phoned the Knights Inn directly, they told me there standard price for the time I requested was $59.99 and it should have not been more than $71.00 including taxes. So, HotelSavings.com is nothing more than a middleman who places additional charges on rooms for their fees. They are nothing like Expedia or any other reputable company who actually gets rooms below standard cost. So, PEOPLE, save your time, money, and heartache! DO NOT use this company for ANY REASON EVER! When I asked to speak to the supervisor, it was the same guy trying to pass himself off as the supervisor and I was not fooled! DO NOT WASTE your MONEY! There are so many HONEST above board vendors who will actually save you money, Oh, and don't be afraid to ask for coupons or discounts--sometimes they have promotions to offer when you call the reservation headquarters personally! I got a GREAT deal on a website for airport parking. I asked for a coupon and she gave me a code over the phone! There are plenty of travel-related deals to be had if you just ask :) Happy Trails!!!!
Thought i was booking directly--Just lost $800 to these scam artists
Horrible, disgusting company. Read the fine print in your reservation the second you get it. I am dealing with a dying family member and had a family emergency that required me to cancel. I assumed that as usual, as long as I canceled 24 hours in advance of checkin date/time that I would be fine. Turns out, this place wants 48 hours in advance. So now, I've lost $800 and have nothing to show for it.
I am not a novice computer user. I am a programmer and computer science major and even I didn't realize that I wasn't booking directly through the hotel. My bad for not paying enough attention to the reservation email when it came in, but due to the family situation I was not as diligent as usual.
They refused to let me speak to a supervisor and claimed that there was nothing they could do (over there in India) to help me. Told me to email their customer service! I had to laugh. I mean, really??
I'll be submitting a claim through my credit card company, but since the contract in the email is clear, I may have no recourse. I also plan to contact local media. You all should do the same. Let's put these criminals out of business.
AWFUL AND VERY RUDE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH
I booked through Hotelsavings and was charged the full amount. They told me in order to receive a discounted rate I had to pay the entire amount. I agreed to that. Then I received the e-mail confirmation that states if you cancel you will not be issued any refund at all. I called them because I need to change the time of my vacation. They refuse to do that and the first person I spoke to told me that the system they use does not allow them to make changes. I never heard of anything so ridiculous. I spoke to someone else and told them I just need to change the week. I was told I could cancel my reservation but would lose the full amount. As so many other people have stated, I also thought I was booking through the hotel directly. If anybody had any luck getting money refunded would you mind posting as to how you were able to do that? It would sure help me and a lot of other people. If I had booked directly through the hotel I am sure changing the week would not have been a problem. Hotel Savings is awful!!
Terrible company - overcharged and refused to issue refund of the difference
Was referred to the company to attend a wedding at a Marriott. Was charged 167 per room per night for 2 rooms, 2 nights each. When we arrived at the hotel the rate was 102 per room per night. Called hotel savings for a refund of the difference and was given a cooperate response that I had agreed to the terms and conditions - which I never saw! This is a terrible company!
BECAREFUL!!! THEY JUST WANT TO BOOK YOU IN & HIDDEN FEES.
I would not recommend this site at all. they just book you for whatever & tell you're getting the room you want. contact the hotel directly that's how I found out they were lying to me the whole time, be careful when booking through 3rd parties not recommended. Seriously you feel like you were fooled like a child, good thing I found out on time.
Avoid this site
I booked a room through this website because at first glance it appeared to be the hotel's official website. It wasn't until I purchased the room that I realized this was not Sleep Inn's website. It's very easy to mistake the URL of HotelSavings.com with that of the actual hotel's website. Read carefully. The room HotelSavings.com booked was over $30 more than the actual charge for the room. Even when I cancelled, I was still on the hook for a $9.50 service charge. Technically these people may not be breaking the law, but this site and it's charges are definitely deceptive and unethical. Avoid this site and tell anyone else who will listen! If you do not use the hotel's official website, then Stick with Expedia, Hotels.com, Priceline etc.. Personally, I have had better luck contacting the hotel directly.
Ripoff and fraud
This company will steal your money. BEWARE that the company will not give you a refund if you cancel. They say that it is because you got such a low rate, but the rate was the same as if you called the hotel directly and made a reservation that would have had a 24 hour cancellation policy. This company MISREPRESENTS AND DEFRAUDS in order to steal your money.
Hidden $19.95 fee for booking online? I could've done that myself
Just got off the phone with the reservation department. The $19.95 was the booking fee for using their online service to allow me to get the discounted rate of $129.00. The online price on the hotel website was $150 or so for the same room. I have a corporate rate which I requested and they quoted so I booked.
They never told me about the fees. I talked to the supervisor about it and they said there was nothing that they could do about the fee. They will email me a receipt with the breakdown.
The guy booking the reservation had a thick Indian accent, which is fine, many companies outsource their booking service. I had no idea that I wasn't talking to the hotel, it was a 3rd party booking company fishing for innocent internet hotel bookings.
They never identified themselves as Hotelsavings.com over the phone, the never mentioned the fees. He quoted me the $129 for the room.
I give this experience a big old FAIL
Terrible Company
I'm currently on the phone with this company and they are trying to charge me a cancellation fee on a room I booked less than 30 minutes after making the original reservation. RUN, RUN!
I thought I was speaking with the hotel directly so I'm not sure how they're able to become the middleman. This is just another reason why I no longer travel for fun anymore.
I really liked this site
I don't get the bad reviews. I've used this site multiple times with no problems at all. They have good deals, so I keep coming back.
FRAUDULENT FOREIGN MORONS
I entered dates of FRI APRIL 25 arriving and SAT APRIL 26 departing, checked for room availability, selected my room and proceeded to book. When the confirmation page came up, the date was for TODAY. I immediately called the customer service number, thinking I was dealing with HILTON HOTELS directly, only to find a rude foreign speaking woman who was no help. I insisted upon speaking with a manager, only to find a rude foreign speaking man who told me I entered the wrong dates and it was my problem and there would be no refund. I am out $224 - I have notified my credit card and Hilton. Google is next.
Beat Sleeping in the rain.
I thought I called the Comfort Inn reservation center. Instead I had called Hotel Savings. The only one that saved any money was Hotel Savings.
The Bill from the local Comfort Inn where I stayed showed the total due including taxes for the two night stay to be $179.18.
When I returned home the Conformation from Hotel Savings was in my Inbox. It showed the amount charged to my credit card to be $250.13.
The Total State Tax and Occupancy Tax on the Comfort Inn receipt was $19.20. The Tax Recovery Charge and Service on the Hotel Savings is $ 50.15.
That means Hotel Savings charged $30.95 for service, and additionally cleared $20.80 on the room itself. Their total profit was $51.75. I might be in line with other biking sites, but sure isn't worth it to me.
BIGTIME RIP-OFF COMPANY. DONT USE
My husband was trying to make a reservation in Golden, Co and was directed to this site. The agent confirmed reservations to the Fairfield by Marriott we requested and charged our credit card $400 immediately, 2 months before our arrival date in Golden. When we arrived at the hotel, it was a Quality Inn who charged $300 for the nights we stayed. We requested a $100 refund from hotelsavings.com as we felt we were overcharged this amount since the hotel was not a Fairfield as confirmed by the booking agent. They refused to refund our money. This site will rip you off. Don't use it.
Worst company I have ever mistakenly done business with. STAY AWAY.
My girlfriend tried to book a reservation at the Mariott and Googled the hotel. Thanks to Google Ads this site was the first link. The website had a problem so she called the number on the website thinking it was the Mariott. It ended up routing her to a call center out of the US where she booked her reservation. The price ended up being higher than was quoted on the phone. The agent was unable to book the correct days, with promises that he would get around to fixing it. This of course never happened. And the icing on the cake is that the booking is non refundable. For the ultra low price $20 higher per night and no recourse because they say it’s not refundable. I would suggest staying as far away from this scam site as possible. Use a real site that has customer service and staff that can handle a simple 3 day booking.
Scam site!
My husband made the mistake of booking a night at our local hotel through this site. We stayed at the same hotel two months ago and paid $135 for one night. He was quoted a rate of $149 and thought that was reasonable enough. They ended up charging us $193! When I called to find out what the heck had happened, I was told we were charged a $43 tax and deposit fee that was NOT REFUNDABLE. The manager literally laughed at me when I asked her if it was refundable, since she said it was a deposit. The $43 charge was never explained to my husband - he never would've booked! I am waiting to hear back from HotelSavings as I told them they had better pull the recording of my husband and listen to it because he never approved of that price but I doubt it will happen. Instead, I am directly disputing the charges through my bank. Total scam artists, folks, STAY AWAY.
BOOKING WITH THIS COMPANY WILL GET YOU SCREWED!
So I went to the hotel website and was redirected to hotelsavings.com. When booking two rooms, nowhere did it say that my purchase was non-refundable and that my card would be charged immediately. Once I realized that my card was charged, I went to cancel the reservations and called customer service to see about getting my refund. I talked to an agent who told me that I wasn't getting a refund, and laughed as he said that and then my fiance talked to management of customer service and they said there was nothing they could do.
I don't believe that there is absolutely nothing they can do because everyone can do something about it. It should have been clearly stated that my rooms were non-refundable and that I would have been charged immediately. Instead it said 'BOOK NOW!' and then screwed me over!
DO NOT TRUST HOTELSAVINGS.COM. BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL.
I went to the hotel's website to reserve but Hotelsavings.com grabbed my booking. My confirmation stated total amount paid of $261.46, which they billed my credit card instantly. After the trip, I asked for an invoice and receipt. The receipt showed only $251.51. The staff could not account for the discrepancy and kept telling me there was a non-refundable service fee. I explained that I was not asking for a refund. I just needed a receipt that showed the actual amount I paid. They stated they will send me another receipt for the difference. I insisted I get one receipt with the actual amount I was billed for. Bottom line, this company did not offer any savings on hotel rates - the hotel charged the same room rate and with AAA card, I would have received a discount of $5.00 per day. Bottom line, this company was deceitful - they grabbed my booking from the hotel of my choice. Bottom line this company was fraudulent - they did not show all service fees on the receipt. DO NOT USE HOTELSAVINGS.COM EVER! Save yourself the trouble and frustration. Call the hotel directly.
Should be called hotelripoff.com
After my choice of hotels had no rooms available, I used Google to find an alternate hotel, and ended up on this site. I found a hotel I was content with, and thought I was booking through the hotel itself, gave my credit card like is always required to RESERVE a room. I actually reserved it for my husband, who arrived, and provided his credit card for billing. In looking at our credit card statements, BOTH of our cards were charged - his for $205 with the hotel and mine for $265 for hotel"savings".com PLUS a $9.95 service fee. I called to get my card credited, which they wouldn't do. Apparently (and this is still pending) they contacted the hotel and they are crediting my husband's card. Better than nothing but I will NEVER use this site again. Lesson learned - be careful what you are booking online...
