Just Avoid HotelsInAmerica

They never paid the hotel where we stayed, so the hotel charged for the room too. I am still in the process over a month later trying to get a refund from them, since they never sent money to the hotel. Just avoid them.

Absolutely deceptive pricing practices

Absolutely deceptive pricing practices! The advertised price was bait to get you to book. Then, the moment they charged my card, a message popped up saying the rooms were sold out at that price. It's a blatant attempt to force customers to pay a higher price. This is a scam, plain and simple. Beware of this misleading tactic they use to lure you in.

DO NOT BOOK HERE

DO NOT BOOK HERE! This company is not upfront about non-cancellable rates. It seems like a low rate, but you cannot modify a reservation. Do not book here.

I advise anyone to NOT use…

I advise anyone to NOT use hotelsinamerica.com for booking a hotel. I used them to book two rooms at a hotel. Due to changes in my itinerary I needed to cancel my reservations. I was only allowed to cancel one room on line - but not both, even though they were made at the same time.
Customer service is a call center in India. They are completely useless. They read repeatedly from a list of canned responses, mostly repeating “I completely understand your situation.” But they do absolutely nothing to resolve your issue. Their continued canned responses will drive you mad.
In my case I was transferred to someone who said that if the hotel provided a letter on hotel stationary and mailed it to the headquarters saying they would be ok with the cancellation, then hotelsinamerica would review it, compare it to their policies, and provide me with an answer at a later date.
Right. Find a hotel willing to do that after the fact, and even so, hotelsinamerica still will not guarantee you a refund.
I did call the hotel and was told that if hotelsinamerica simply called them, the hotel would be happy to cancel.
So despite my trying to get the “customer service” agent to call the hotel, all I got was “I completely understand your situation.”
STAY AWAY from hotelsinamerica. It’s a scam and not worth the few extra bucks they claim you’ll save.

I recently booked a room and made a mistake on the dates. Yes, I admit it was my mistake. However, I was unable to contact hotelsinamerica to even ask a question. There is no phone number and when I emailed support multiple times they never responded. Use at your own risk, it’s a shotty at best company.

I wish I checked reviews before booking…

I wish I checked reviews before booking through Hotelsinamerica. They are a complete scam! They cancel your reservation without notifying you and then when you arrive at the hotel you have to pay again in order to get a room or wait 3 hours to resolve the supposed issue. Then when you want a refund or a credit for the inconvenience of not being able to easily start your stay there, they give you a 10% refund ($14) for one room (even if you booked two). You ruined my time in Nashville and my time is WELL beyond $14 for 3 hours! Oh, and btw, I know they are a scam because they are affiliated with the hotel we stayed at!!! I would have rated them a ZERO but that wasn't an option. If they spent less time trying to scam customers and invested that time in cleaning the hotel, Hotelsinamerica might be able to legitimately make a profit.

A family member clicked on that site…

A family member clicked on that site because it was the lowest price. Everything was fine until we realized my credit card was saved on the website even though we will never asked whether we want to save it or not..
Family members card information was also saved. We called on a three-way call and spend a half hour with customer service to no avail. Looks like both card numbers are stuck on there indefinitely.
NO OTHER SITE DOES THIS .
FOR A FEW DOLLARS SAVED ITS NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION.
STAY AWAY 🤬

BE WARE

BE WARE, I made the reservation and paid for it, I got the confirmation and when I arrived at the hotel, they won’t let me check in unless I paid again for the room, they said the Credit Card that Hotels In America gave them was declined, and now after two full weeks I’m still waiting for my refund. I will be filing a dispute soon.

DON’T DO IT! Beware!

Beware Consumers
Hi, We have a family member in the hospital who’s health took a nosedive out of the blue. I immediately booked a reservation at the closest hotel, since we’d all need a place to rest/shower.
Within 10-20 minutes, I realized I had - ACCIDENTALLY - entered the wrong reservation date! Right away, I called their support line & asked to update the date of my reservation to the correct one.
According to the company - since I hadn’t paid the $8 charge to allow for cancellations, they could do nothing. I said that I wasn't cancelling nor expecting any money back - I just wanted to update the room reservation date, period. I didn't care if the room rental rate was different from the one I had just reserved, I’d pay the difference, no problem. NO. NO. NO.
We made 3 additional phone calls to their support line - but the final outcome is I am out close to $100 because of the above. The actual hotel is unable to help, due to it being a “third party” reservation.
PLEASE - choose a legitimate booking company - one with at least a 4-star average. Read the reviews - I normally do - but my focus was to RESERVE A ROOM & GET TO MY LOVED ONE IN THE HOSPITAL.
A one star rating for this outfit seems a bit too generous. Never again. Thanks.

No refund for Legionnaires Disease

This company allowed customers to book a hotel room at a hotel with Legionnaires disease! No ability to use running water or use the air conditioner! What kind of responsible company would do such a thing? To make matters worse both they or the hotel refused to give us a refund. Each one said was the others responsibility. Shane on you both! Such a rip off.

I've been on hold for a half of an hour as they try to get their act together. Room already paid for. These people clearly have no idea what the hell is going on. This is inexcusable. The worst I have ever had to deal with. I don't know if this is a scam or just gross incompetence. I have people wanting on me.

This is a terrible company

This is a terrible company. I will never use them again. Google should de-list them. I thought that because it came up in a Google travel search that they would be trustworthy but they are not.

Reminder to self... always check the company's reputation before booking with them.

Reporting them to Google next.

Booking Scam

Made a reservation for a specific check-in date and when the confirmation came through, the date had been changed. When I called them, I was informed that there was no cancellation or changes allowed. I contacted the hotel directly, and they have no reservation under my name. Total Scam!!

I booked thru Hotels in America and…

I booked thru Hotels in America and when I arrived at the Hotel in Orlando, they didn't have any reservations under my name or with the booking number. I called and email and no response. I had to stay in another hotel. I sent a dispute to my credit card and Hotels In america submitted to them the rules and regulations stating no refund no cancellations for anything. I am sending again the dispute with all the emails etc and if not I will cancel my credit card. Incredible how people use people for the worst. DO NOT BOOKED THRU HOTELS IN AMERICA

Terrible UI and Deceptive

I clicked in to book Sat-Mon, but the booking flipped to Mon-Tues, and they refused to refund me. I'm glad I didn't use it anyway after reading the other reviews. Better to lose the $50, ridiculous, and their customer service was a joke.

Horrible service

Horrible service! Waited at the front desk of the hotel for over an hour and they said hotelsinamerica hasn't sent the reservation over. I waited on hold on the phone for over another hour while being bounced to 3 different departments. Avoid hitelsinamerica at all costs!

Scam company

Made a reservation a month in advance, received an email 5 days before my trip that they made a mistake and the reservation is canceled and the hotel is sold out!
Gave me the option to book a cheaper hotel!
Never using them again.
