Do not book with this place. They will steal all your money and then lie about it when you dispute the charge with your credit card company. AVOID AT ALL costs!!!

Totally scam in my reservation in vangvieng laos.
1 confirmation was not on the current name.
2. The hotel doesn't know about my reservation.
3. All the money got lost.
4. Need to find another hotel and waiting my time

I have repeatedly contacted hotelwiz for my refund since September 8, 2023. I've been given different dates of processing my refund. From 3-5 days, 5-10 days and 7 - 10 days. I've called several times conversing with individuals that have poor interpretation of the English language. So I asked to speak with a supervisor and have been told on multiple occasions that they do not have a supervisor. I spoke with hotelwiz today, September 11, 2023. I was told my refund is being processed and that it takes 3 -5 business days. I was told this lie back on September 8, 2023. Never do business with this irreparable company...

The only reason I am giving Hotel Wiz 2 stars is because my reservation was successful. However, within minutes of making a reservation I was contacted by a scammer posing as Customer Service. They said that my payment didn't go thru on their end. I then checked my bank account and discovered that it had been debited to my account. They then began telling me they were going to issue a refund but I needed to download "anydesk.com" which allows them access to your computer and personal files. I'm no idiot and it felt extremely fishy because I have been issued refunds before and never had to download anything. They were persistent but I hung up. I verified my reservation with the actual hotel and it ended up being a successful reservation. However, I will not be using HotelWiz because they obviously aren't very secure considering it only took minutes to be contacted by a scammer.

It has to be the worst booking company out there! It made an error while booking and called them right away. I wanted close to 1 hour but no one answered. I called back again after couple of hours and after waiting for another hour someone picked up the call. The agent before even hearing my situation started saying she can’t do anything. She was extremely rude with me. I requested to speak to a supervisor and she promised me a call back from a manager within 30 minutes. That call never came. I called another 4 times but no one picked the call. I advise against booking with them.

Tried to call and cancel a reservation, but every time I told that to someone, they hung up on me!

I was a little shocked that it worked and wasn't a scam. (I hadn't heard of the company previously.) I needed a hotel for one night prior to a flight, was booking at the last minute, and used Google to find a hotel near the airport with low rates. Hotelwiz was advertising rates for a Fairfield Marriott about 30% lower than the Marriott site.

I called the hotel directly minutes after booking to be sure they had my reservation - and they did! Phew. No issues checking in either.

A few minor issues I experienced:
-During checkout, there was a last-minute step where I needed to confirm my country of residence (I was abroad booking this for the night before coming home so the site may have assumed my residence country based on my device location) and then the price changed when I switched my residence to the US. It was only a few dollars and likely had to do with taxes so not a big deal, but I would have preferred the step be earlier in the process so the correct price was displayed upfront.
-We did have to pay an additional $3 or so upon check in. But for all I know this is standard in Mexico.
We picked out hotel for being the cheapest option with a free airport to the shuttle, knowing that saving $15 on the room would be a silly trade off if we had to pay $40 for a taxi and be in a less comfortable hotel, so these minor fees didn't bother me under the circumstances.

One fantastic piece of the Hotelwiz UX: I was sent a confirmation text with a link, where I was able to resend the confirmation email - and update the email address! Fantastic as I had accidentally missed a number in my email address. But also useful for folks traveling with others who may want to share the check in information.

DO NOT PATRONIZE HOTEL WIZ AND, IN PARTICULAR, STEER CLEAR FROM SPOKESPERSON KEN!!!! HE NEVER TELLS THE TRUTH, WILL LIE REPEATEDLY TO YOUR FACE, AND ATTEMPT TO TRY AND HELP YOU, ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!!!! GLAD TO SEE OTHER PEOPLE ARE WRITING SIMILAR REVIEWS, AS THEY UNCOVER WHAT A SHYSTER THIS CHARACTER KEN AND HIS COMPANY TRULY ARE.....RUN THE OTHER WAY, PLEASE PEOPLE!!!!!

They customer service cannot be reached.I canceled one booking within the free cancellation policy.
I still have not received my refund for 2 months now!!

Do not use this company. I booked a hotel about two hours ago through them, made a simple mistake in the date on the pull-down menu, and just wanted to change the date, but was told continuously that I could not receive a refund. First of all, I was never calling for a refund, just help me correct the technical mistake. I was met with the response that I could not receive a refund. I continued to let him know that I just wanted to change the date. I received a condescending remark about whether I had ever booked a hotel or not. The answer is, "yes", but not with these people, nor will I ever.

They advertised a great rate. After filling out the info required to book they said "that offer has expired". I refresh and still see that price is still offered. Try to book again and was quick on the booking page. Same message about the offer being expired. I hope this isn't some scam advertising fake prices in order to collect credit card info.

Terrible service was quoted a rate online when I got to the hotel I got charged a resort fee

We made a reservation and paid. Then, a few hours later, someone called and asked if they could charge an additional $2. I obviously said no and, after they agreed, I checked my account and saw they charged me anyway. I called to get my money back and they gave me nonsense excuses. I’m afraid they’ll charge me again so I’m telling my bank to block them from all transactions. Use at your own peril!

Booked a hotel throught them. Tried to cancel within my time period. Got scammed, they ghosted me, invented random requirements etc.

two months later, they tried to charge me again. This time mastercard added them to the fraud list. the guy I was talking to was Ken/Kenneth (avoid)

I booked a night in Vegas and Hotelwiz came as the cheapest rate. After I booked they sent me an email to say that I only paid for the taxes. There was nothing to refer that this rate is only the state taxes prior tomy booking. Be careful with this website, con artists and cheap marketing and selling tactics.

When I turned up to the hotel they charged me almost the same rate as other comparison websites originally had listed. Will never touch them again. Scam
