Henry is not only immensely helpful and professional (I have now had 3 custom bags from him), but produces the most beautiful and sturdy leatherwork for daily use. I sent my satchel back for some sprucing (well battered from daily and backpacking adventures), and he was kind enough not only to restitch it for free, but send it back with another order in time for Christmas. Very highly recommended!

This is my second briefcase from Henry. I've used my first one everyday for the past 5 years and looks even better now than the day I bought it, developing a nice patina. I purchased the second one only because I wanted to add new color to my rotation, but I will continue to use both.

First I want to mention the customer service. Henry is one of the most courteous people I've encountered. On both purchases he responded to my initial inquires and numerous follow up questions within the day of me sending. Despite his busy schedule (it's just him making these) he had my order complete and shipped within 10 days. On top of that he just seems like a genuine, friendly guy who enjoys what he does like a hobby; the kind of guy you'd happily grab a beer with at the pub and talk about projects and crafting.

The product itself is second to none: handmade in the UK, thick vegetable tanned leather, quality stitching, brass hardware and attention to detail that you only see in high-end (and I don't mean flimsy mass-produced fashion brand) briefcases. As soon as you feel how rigid the leather is you know it will last a lifetime and develop a nice patina. My first one has softened up quite a bit, but will still stand upright on its own and I expect both will serve me fine until I add a third.

I was recommended to Henry by a colleague who had bought a 'man bag' years and years ago. It was still going strong and looking weathered, matured and wonderful! As I was looking for something similarly 'hardcore' yet feminine for my wife, I took Steve's recommendation and contacted Mr T and commissioned what turned out to be the bag of Susie's dreams. This was the start of a beautiful relationship which has cost me a lot of money over the years, all of it well-spent on bags that exude quality, style and genuine craftsmanship. Henry is a gentleman, a joy and a genius!

I'm the proud owner of three of Henry's beautiful bags. My satchel is in use almost every workday for my laptop and it is still as strong as it was when i first bought it 5 or 6 years ago. The leather is thick and beautifully soft and the stitching remains totally in tact. This bag will last for the rest of my life i'm certain. Another bag is a cross the shoulder hand bag that i use almost every day and i've had it even longer than the satchel. And the remaining bag is the same design as the cross-body handbag but customised as a larger version which I use on holidays or when i need to carry more stuff and still be able to zip it closed. I adore all three and i'll never need to buy another bag ever again.

I visited Camden Market seven years ago with my wife and daughter with the sole purpose of checking Henry Tomkins leather shop as I wanted a handmade strong leather satchel. Seven years on and today I am happy to write a review to say despite being used everyday for work the satchel looks like new, any scuffs to the leather easily removed with periodic application of wax. No tears, no rips, no wear and tear. Excellent quality. And now I am in need of a holdall I am looking no further than Henry to make me one.

This is our third bag from Henry Tomkins, I am so glad we discovered him! Beautifully made bags from a genuine master craftsman, elegant timeless designs that are made to last a lifetime. It is a breath of fresh air to deal with a genuine maker, Henry is a lovely man and very nice to deal with.

I ordered the Full Monty briefcase and I found the whole process to be very enjoyable. Henry is very passionate about his craft and it was a pleasure talking to him about the process of crafting the briefcase.
I am a lawyer and required a briefcase that could hold everything I need but did not compromise on style. I spent a long time looking for a briefcase before settling on the Full Monty. I am glad to say this briefcase delivered in every way.
The quality of the leather and fixings is exceptional. It is very sturdy and feels like it will last a long time. It looks just as good in real life as it does on a computer screen.
