5-Star Review for Stephen at Hunters

5-Star Review for Stephen at Hunters, Worcester Park

We recently bought our new home through Hunters in Worcester Park, and Stephen, our agent, was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From the very beginning, Stephen was honest, realistic, and refreshingly free of any heavy sales tactics. He kept communication open and was happy to liaise between us and the buyer, ensuring everything went as smoothly as possible.

Time was a key factor for us as we were expecting a new addition to the family, and Stephen made sure nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was chasing down solicitors or keeping things on track, he handled everything with professionalism and efficiency.

We couldn’t be happier with the service Stephen provided, and we highly recommend him and the team at Hunters. If we ever need an estate agent in the future, we’ll definitely be using them again!

Thanks again, Stephen!

Condescending, rude and just arrogant

Well what can I say, house came on the market Friday, sent a email requesting a virtual viewing Friday evening, as we are relocating from overseas. I then get a email from Charlotte on Saturday morning saying we are fully booked…. I reply saying how can you be fully booked for a virtual viewing? ….

Surely you are there showing people around so how hard would it have been to have WhatsApp me for 5 mins to walk around the house between viewings.

What response did I get … nothing not even an acknowledgment! Totally ghosted.

This just shows the contempt these guys hold for potential tenants.

Funny as I lived in York over 10yrs ago and hunters were the agent to avoid, seems to me nothing has changed

Avoid these clowns at all costs and if you have the misfortune to have to deal with Charlotte well good luck.

Extremely bad experience with Unprofessional and Rude people... Preston Road Wembley branch

Preston Road Wembley Branch
I regret to say that my experience with your service has been extremely disappointing. The level of unprofessionalism displayed throughout the process was astounding. From misleading information to outright lies, it became clear that your team was not transparent or trustworthy from the start.

Unfortunately, after the deal was finalized, your true nature became even more evident. The promises made prior to the transaction were not upheld, and your team showed a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I would strongly caution anyone against working with your company.

Thank you for making this an experience I will never forget, but for all the wrong reasons.

Disrespectful, condescending, argumentative agent

We viewed a house with Hunters Plaistow and after seeing probably over 60 properties by now I've never come across such a disrespectful, condescending, argumentative agent.

He had a very well rehearsed pitch and seemed irritated by us ruining it with any questions or comments. We couldn't even discuss amongst ourselves without him interjecting to explain that actually it was better this way if we really thought about it. Like we commented that it was too bad a huge extension took up almost the whole garden and got a lecture on why we were wrong and wouldn't use the garden much anyway so the second dining room was better.

He got really cagey when we asked why the owners were selling (the answer was basically "what does it matter?" And that it was none of our business). He was very defensive and outright rude when we asked if he could tell us anything about the neighbours, saying that it didn't matter, there are no disputes (strange that that is where his head immediately went to), why did we want to know that, and he "wasn't going to waste his time asking the owners a question like that" for us unless we made an offer.

These are very basic questions and every other agent we've ever seen has happily answered or asked the owner. It is the agent's job to pass on questions to the owner.

Your neighbours make or break your life. If I'm buying a house with a house full of students next door etc. I want to know about it.

This agent has no people skills, no respect for customers, no business being in a job like this. We contacted the Plaistow office to complain about the way we were treated and they couldn't have cared less, fobbed us off with "his manager will call you back", never did, so they're probably all like that.

We will avoid Hunters like the plague now, no matter what else they're selling.

Avoid viewing or selling with them!

Avoid at all costs. The worst of the worst!

Couldn't have come across worse agents. Took two months to get the house on the market because of continuous delays with contracts, photos and communications. Extremely unresponsive overall, would sometimes have to call for weeks to get an answer or an update. The agents come to house viewings without knowing anything about the house and they lie more than any service provider I've ever dealt with. The absolute bottom of the barrel of estate agents. Avoid at all costs!

solid company

Hunters look after my property rentals in Manchester. Whilst the fees are a bit steep. I find them the most reliable firm in terms of sourcing tenants and knowing the associated laws.

Absolutely the worst estate agents

Absolutely the worst estate agents , I booked a flat viewing at 4:45pm on Friday evening , I was left a voice message in the morning asking if I couldn’t attend please let them know, I was attending so not necessary, I drove for 50 mins in rush hour traffic and got to the property about 4:47 pm 2 mins late, on the travel over I phoned up the company 4 times leaving messages saying I will be slightly late no answer, when I go to the property the agent wasn’t there , no phone call to my mobile at any point, I knocked on the door and the owners were there very surprised to see me 🤔🤔 I said hi I have a viewing which they replied oh we didn’t know and there has been no agent there today waiting for me, it was very awkward looking around and then I left, the whole situation was a joke how DARE YOU treat potential renters/buyers that way not even turning up and even letting the owners know, waste of my travel time and petrol money , email the agents and they replied back there was someone there but because u was 2 min late they left as there to busy to wait, CROCK of S**t no one was there confirmed bye the owners, I really hope your company goes bust and u all lose your jobs , I should of look at the reviews on here before contacting your agency as there shocking and the worst Iv ever see. For a company Shameful Sharon mcevoy rude lady stay clear

Alex Wilson - Stalybridge

Alex Wilson, the franchisee of Hunters, is not somebody I would suggest you trusting either with the sale of your house, leasing as a landlord or as a tenant.

For over 7 days Alex has allowed a flashing floodlight on his property to consistently shine into our home meaning that myself and my three small children have had very little sleep.

Despite our pleas for him to fix it and a police officer attending to ask him to resolve it he outright refuses to. He claims he only knows one electrician - who is on holiday - and will not be able to fix it for a further week. He claims no one else is able to.

So that is how he behaves with his neighbour so imagine if you had an issue as a landlord or tenant.

Absolutely appalling behaviour from someone I used to call a close family friend. Very sad to be treated this way and extremely disappointed in his conduct.

If I could give zero stars or negative

If I could give zero stars or even negative stars, I would. From renting the property, collecting the keys, discussing the lease renewal, to the recent issue with rent payments – it has been a complete disaster.

When I first viewed the property, I told the agent at Hunter that my current lease was ending soon and I needed to speed up the process of getting the keys. The agent assured me it would be fine and agreed to hand over the keys on Monday. However, I spent the entire Monday chasing them from morning to evening, even going to their office, but still didn’t get the keys. When I arrived at their office, they told me some documents weren’t signed. I couldn’t believe they only realized this after I had to show up in person. The next day, I contacted them again in the morning, and once again, they weren’t ready. It wasn't until late Tuesday, right before their office closed, that I finally got the keys.

A year later, when it was time to renew, Hunter told me the landlord agreed not to raise the rent, and I immediately accepted. They sent over the renewal documents, but before I could sign and return them, they called the next day saying the landlord had changed their mind and wanted to increase the rent by £200. I was shocked. How could they go back on their word? Hunter even insisted that the landlord had the right to do so because there were still two weeks before the lease renewal, otherwise, the landlord could end the tenancy. This felt like bullying, but I had no choice but to agree.

Yesterday, I received the payment invoice for the renewal, but the amount listed was still the old rent. Since they issued the invoice, I paid the amount stated. Today, they realized their mistake and sent me an email asking for the remaining balance, even rushing me to pay immediately. I was at work at the time, so I couldn’t make the payment right away. Later, Hunter's agency called me, and instead of being polite, they demanded I pay as soon as possible. I told them I was working and couldn’t pay immediately, and that it was their mistake, not mine. They insisted I pay after work, but I had other commitments. I can’t believe they made the mistake but still had such a rude attitude.

I will never use this company again, and I hope they go out of business to avoid further damaging the reputation of service companies in the UK.

Even though I wasn't a customer as my agent let me down, Beth Jackson has gone above and beyond, she has been amazing in reducing the stress we had purchasing our property. She kept in contact with on on a regular basis, chased our chain which she didn't have to do. If I could give beth and the team at Bridlington 10 stars 🌟 I would. Appalling group of folks!
This group has no idea what they are doing. we worked with Selina and she was absolutely clueless and brought wrong/unverified information to the table. If I were looking to rent, I would be running as far as possible from this agency or owners they work with! if there were minus points that is what I would give them for ripping a kid off!

Poor customer service

My partner and I are looking to relocate to an area around a 5 hour drive away, we found a property with Hunters and booked a viewing. We loved the property so we asked the agent what to do next and he said email so we can get sent an application form; because we liked the property so much we emailed and called the branch to try and get ahead with our application. No answer from the branch after numerous calls over the period of an hour so we decided to go to the branch instead. After speaking to someone in branch (not part of the lettings team so they couldn't help us) they sent an email over to someone from the lettings department with our profile so they could send us an application form via email. This seems great, two emails, one from us and one internally expressing our interest in the property. However fast forward one week, with nothing from them and more attempts to contact from us, we finally get through to be told that someone that viewed on the same day as us has already completed all the applications and is set to start renting the property. No apologies or anything after explaining the situation and that we'd been trying to get in contact for a week.

Untrustworthy Service and No Accountability

I signed a tenancy agreement with Hunters Harborne, following a viewing conducted by their agent, Ellie, who assured me (both verbally and in writing) that the property would be thoroughly cleaned, and all mould issues addressed before my move-in. Before the move-in date, I sent additional emails stressing the importance of cleanliness and inquired if everything was in order. Ellie once again reassured me that all was well and added that any issues encountered after moving in would be promptly resolved by the landlord.

The reality, however, was appalling. Upon entering the property, I was met with dirt, dust, and mould everywhere. The bathroom, kitchen and fridge were in an utterly unhygienic state, with mould and grime covering surfaces. The sofa was filthy full of sand and hair, the bathtub drainage was blocked, and there was no hot water in the bathroom sink with extremely low water pressure. The floors were covered in dust, and the washing machine was filled with mould and sludge.

Given the uninhabitable condition of the flat, I was forced to spend my first night in a hotel. When I raised these concerns with Hunters, reminding them of their prior assurances, I received nothing but a hollow apology.

On the second day, when I attempted to use the washing machine, I discovered that the wastewater from the machine was being discharged directly into the kitchen sink—utterly unacceptable!

Despite countless complaints and insisting that the property was unfit for habitation, Hunters’ only response was, ‘It’s a let-only property; we just facilitate the rental. We know and trust the landlord.’ Eventually, the landlords agreed to terminate the tenancy and refund the rent, leading me to vacate the property immediately. the landlords have been ignoring my messages and emails for over two months. Finally they returned part of the rent after many calls and emails.

Throughout this ordeal, Hunters (from the agents to the director) did absolutely nothing to assist, and instead, they went silent and re-advertised the same property for rent!

I had been trying to sell my house for…

I had been trying to sell my house for over 18 months when I contacted Hunters Estate Agents in BUNTINGFORD and this was the 4th agent I had been marketed with. Ian the owner come and took the details for our house and I was also dealing with Marie Goodchild (who certainly was an angel). The housing market had hit a very bad time but Marie always told me the truth and didn’t just say what I wanted to hear. The viewings I would always get feed back not necessarily what I wanted to hear but the truth. After many viewings we eventually received an offer on our property. We eventually moved into our dream property end of July and I am unable to explain how good these estate agents were from start to finish. Having worked for an estate agents years ago I know how it works and how you should always keep the vendor informed no matter what and always be honest. Which I feel Marie and Ian did. I would not use another estate agents as they certainly exceeded expectations.
