Iliad makes it impossible to cancel…

Iliad makes it impossible to cancel their service and has been charging us long after we left Italy. We tried going to their "UN" use-friendly website to cancel and there is no option available for un-subscribing. Our daughter went to the kiosk at Rome Termini and they said we have to go to the website - again no help. Our daughter also called and they again stated we had to go to their website - again impossible! ONLY pay cash and never give them a credit card. If fact, don't use Iliad they are crooks. Use any other service available. VERY DIS-SATISFIED!

Younes Tronnebati helped with my iliad issue and guided me through every step! He helped me to activate my SIM-card and explained me how redeemable cards work.
I just arrived in Italy barely had access to the internet, and Younes basically saved my day. I hope iliad will value his efforts high!

Terrible Customer support

If I could give no star I would. We called them to increase our data allowance but was advised they couldn't do anything until next renewal date (so 11 days) as their system doesn't allow it.. The alternative was to order a new sim card that would come within 2 days and we had to pay for it.
Probably one of the worst customer support experiences, especially in 2023 where renewing a customer before the actual date is a dream for any company.

I just called less than a-minute ago

I just called less than a-minute ago, 9:45am 9 October 2023 to assist us for the very weak signal of our ILIAD FIBER of only 32Mbps (they advertizing it as fast as 500Mbps, nonsense!). I talked to a very USELESS NON COOPERATIVE lady operator advising me TO FIRE the company for not giving me the right service. This is the 1st time I received such advice! For the info, this is the 1st time I ask for assistance from the ILIAD company... to tell you prankly I am satisfied with the service, only today & this BAD ATTITUDE LADY didn't even ask me the exact problem issue and have the GUTS to advise me TO FIRE the company, SHAME!.... For the management of ILIAD, this useless operator worker should not be manned at your company!
My location is near Marco Polo Airport Venice ITALY, highway... a very accessible location....

POOR PROVIDER

1. Coverage and internet speed is much worse than the other operators
2. they auto debit you without authorization (as many others have written here)
3. no way to contact them except by calling which is lengthy and complicated process
4. no walk in stores. their kiosk atyendants cannot assist you at all with account.
Pay a few euros more and use one of the big companies.

A SIM nightmare in Turin

English tourist in Turin. Attempted to buy a SIM card from the kiosk in the station. Had passport and cash. The attendant took me through the procedure which needed a video of me saying "I am ...and I chose Iliad". I walked away having been told it would take an hour to activate. Nothing happened so back the hotel room on WiFi I looked at the emails. Seems there was a problem and I have to repeat the process. Which I did. I was then unable to log onto my account. A translation of the email said. "If you have problems one option is to return to the kiosk". I did multiple times the next afternoon and after an hour or so the attendant returned. Her english was not good so I asked to get it working using Google translate. She gave me two options re-shoot the video again or apply for a refund. I chose the latter but was then told "not possible". I was so angry I walked away. I went to a TIM shop and walked out with a functioning SIM inside 10 minutes. No video required. Stay away from Iliad and preserve your sanity!

Iliad cons tourists into a monthly subscription

Used my credit card to buy what i thought was a one off SIM just to use while i was in Italy on holiday in July 2023.Bought from the Iliad store at Napoli train station. A month later i discovered Iliad had started taking £9 from my credit card each month.Asked Barclaycard to block the transactions but it didn't stop Illiad. What?!! Have managed to log into my "Personal Area" on Iliad website and changed payment method to "Manual", meaning Illiad can no longer automatically charge me every month. To cancel the SIM would involve having to send a form to their office in Milan and even i think they would just ignore it.

I managed to log into "Personal Area" by luck as Illiad emailed me an ID code by chance. Don't know how they got my email as i never gave it to them. I never set up or subscribed when i was in their Napoli store. So by sending me an ID code they shot themselves in the foot as i was then able to log in and turn off the automatic charge. Haha! Up yours, Iliad! Nasty, nasty company.Avoid.

So how do you switch to "Manual" ? Well luckily Iliiad sent me a "Codice ID" by email. Now, if you haven't had one of those from Iliad, or you may have so check if you've had any email from them.If not you'll have to contact them on Twitter or Instagram unfortunately. But they may give you a "Codice ID" more easily than cancelling your SIM.So, if you can get that Codice ID, then go to the Personal Area of their website. You should be able to see an option to switch the text from Italian to English, look for that option. On the log in page it will ask for your Codice (or User ) ID (it will be an 8 digit number)and a password.Of course, you haven't got a password so click on "forgotten password" and they will ask for an email address to send a password to.Once you've got the password ( you can change it later on) and the Codice ID you should be able to log into your Personal Area.

Now,once you've logged in, go to Personal Data > My Payment Method > select Manual (This option is in very small text in light grey colour) > Confirm by clicking Change Your Payment Option.

The screen will reload and provide a prompt basically stating that if the sim card is not loaded with funds within 12 months, then they will automatically deactivate the sim card. If nothing happens within another 12 months afterwards, then they will deactivate the account. This is the easiest way to do it.

The key is to get hold of that Codice ID number.Look in any email from Iliad and hopefully it will be in there somewhere.Otherwise you'll have to try and get your Codice from Illiad but it's gotta be easier than cancelling your Iliad SIM ,right?

Switching the payment to Manual will not cancel your SIM but it will with a bit of luck mean Iliad will be unable to charge youR credit card every month.

Good luck.

Dont buy Sim its a Scam!!!

I am on vacation and bought a Sim for 20€ and it doesnt work, went to activate it on the Website and after a painful process of giving a Lot of Personal Info (wich is defenitly NOT necessary) and trying to make a Seconds Scam by requesting a monthly Credit Card paiment wich you need to Switch to one time with a tiny links at the end of the Page, and then you need to send a picture of your Personal Info and a Video (wich conviniently is Always wrong). After all of that there is almost No way to way to get your Money Back. Just use the 20€ for Something else, you will be better Off.

This is one of the worst comapnies in…

This is one of the worst comapnies in the world. I was a tourist in ITaly and needed a Sim. I ordered a Sim from Iliad which never arrived. Here is the worst part, I made use of the 14 day withdrawal right and filled out and sent the form to Iliad (3 times). Iliad can only be contacted through fax or post. Iliad now pretends like, either I didnt send them anything or keeps writing that the information I sent is not complete (not telling what is worng) and should send again. Phone number of course isnt working. They already took 20 EUR from my bank account and they will probably try to take my money once a month now. I contacted my bank about this situation and hope they can deal with them.
KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, ESPECIALLY AS A TOURIST

Worst company every!

Worst company every!! They steal you money in any possible way. I did two mobile top-ups that Iliad does not see while my banks processed and it’s impossible to get an official confirmation from Iliad to show for proof to the bank that the payments did not go through for them. Additionally, while in the settings I have the option on of stopping the service once the monthly promotion is done, Iliad keeps running internet and stealing my credit. Overall, in just one month with these two trickes they stole me €30 and it’s impossible to get them back. Furthermore, all the operators are unqualified and unable to do anything, keep telling me that the only way possible is to try to ask it by fax, something that I do not have. I find ridiculous that in 2023 it is not possible to proceed by phone or email.

I paid for a SIM card

I paid for a SIM card, and 9,90 for the first month on the weekend of 19/20 August 2023.
Today is 5 September 2023, AND MY PLAN IS STILL NOT WORKING.

As an EU citizen I provided my ID card at the Iliad shop in Palermo, and my codice fiscale number. After a few day, I was told it is not enough to provide the codice fiscale number, and that I need to send them the original document (WHAT?) AND my ID card is not enough,
because I was born in the former Soviet Union, so I need to provide my passport for that country.
What stupid morons.
I have an EU passport, and nothing else.
I do not have citizenship of the country I was born in.
When I provided my EU passport at an Iliad store, that still was not enough.
Now they are asking for my tessera sanitaria. Which a health insurance card.
I HAVE an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card). But that’s not enough because my country of birth is NOT THE SAME as my only ID and passport.
Ffffffng fascists.

Poor customer service and ignorant administration department

I have a pixel 7pro I asked to switch my SIM for an e-sim .the process was straightforward but the installation wasn't.
I called customer service around 25 times and every time I was getting a different answer but no solution to my problem, and visited Iliad center to do the installation with no luck .
At the end I started asking to stay with my SIM and refund the cost of the e-sim euro 9 and after 15 failed tentative I gave up to receive always the same stupid copy and paste email and I will start looking for a new provider and take with me all my family that joined Iliad because of me.
Shame on your customers service
