As long as the produce is used right away it's usually okay. The problem I have is the delivery. The box is sent to my mother who is disabled, she cannot pick up a box from the ground. I have written very clearly in the delivery instructions to put the heavy box in the wagon on the front porch, there is also a sign on the wagon asking to place the box in there.
On a consistent basis the box is place on the ground in front of or next to the wagon. One time it was left in the yard.
Imperfect Produce just recently started having photo evidence of where their drivers leave the box so now I have proof no one is reading my instructions. What's the point of having delivery instructions if no one is reading them? This isn't a convenience issue this is an accessibility one.

My gf and I have ordered from them around 10 times now and they have maybe gotten the order correct once or twice. Half the time the produce is already starting to spoil or tastes terrible. They say if they are out of something they will replace it was something similar of equal value which they usually never do and they still charge the full amount. I highly recommend avoiding getting your food from them. Had high hopes for them but overall extremely disappointed and almost feels kind of like a scam the way they do this every week so then we end up spending more money as we have to go to the grocery store anyways to buy what they forgot or to replace the spoiled produce. This place is terrible

Most of the apples were bruised to mush, and the kiwis as well. The watermelon was split open. The grapes were soft, mushy and had mold. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Very disappointed!!! Signed up and received an order I did not authorize. I received four items for $89.00. I got ground beef, cauliflower, carrots, and collards in a box as large as a coffin with 2 large ice packs and a thermal foil cover on it. I am disgusted with this company. I want a refund and never to hear from them again. Beware and be careful. I thought this may be a nice company to shop for my supplemental items as I thought it was a good environmental cause. I was WRONG!!! I live on a fixed budget and they charge more for scrap foods than I could shop at a gourmet market for!!! Buyers Beware!!

This company should be called: "Imperfect Foods & Delivery!" We had to cancel finally after at least 4 bad experiences from badly packed, damaged fruit and produce (not just 'ugly' but inedible) to having received a box for someone blocks away & they received ours. How do I know? No company response or help so I FOUND who the person was via social media and had to connect to him myself and exchange boxes!! True Story. Their prices are NOT really offering savings so what is the point? A BIG FAT NO - just say no to this. Great idea badly managed and their customer service is hard to reach, not helpful and didn't seem to care at all about their title: CUSTOMER SERVICE.

This food subscription is a SCAM.. buyer beware. I signed up and did not place an order for the 1st week because the items were expensive and nothing I really couldn’t get locally for less. The 2nd week items totaling over 84.00 were added not by myself and I received an email that my order was placed??? I sent numerous emails to stop the shipment but no one responded back to me... and then I got an email that my order has processed. Never again will I order from this company...

Like everyone these days, I am trying to save money on groceries. I decided to try Imperfect Foods. I went through the registration process and on my assigned shopping time I proceeded I
look for items for my cart. Before I began shopping I priced out the things I wanted on my current grocery source so I could have a basis to compare prices. Everything was more expensive or unavailable. My goal is to save money not spend more. I also did not like the fact that you cannot see their prices before you actually do some shopping. I also did not like their rules about getting a box if you forget to skip an order on your account. Too many rules that can cost you money if you forget to update your account. They try to make you think you are getting discounted food but if you do your research you will probably not see any savings.

The premise of the company is fine. There is a lot of "not Pretty" food that goes to waste. But their business model does not work. They have a subscription/recurrent revenue model. But fresh produce comes in on a seasonal basis. Maybe there are enough people who want stuff from them. But my bet is they will crash and burn.

Not happy with this company. I looked at the website after seeing an add on TV. I did not place an order. Upon looking at my account there was a charge that I did not order. I called and they said I had subscribed to repeat subscription. I told them that I did not and wanted my money back. The guy I spoke to finally said my money will be refunded. I told him to make sure the account was canceled.
Not a good impression.

Their delivery is absolutely awful. Sometimes they show up at 8 in the morning, sometimes at 8 in the evening, sometimes they don't show up at all. Customer service is non existent. They can't seem to get it together enough to provide any decent service.
IN RESPONSE TO THEIR REPLY BELOW: I did reach to their team three times in three weeks because they kept messing up the deliveries. I wouldn't say exactly that their customer service team were happy to help, or that they helped or that they were happy, period. As a matter of fact, one of them told me that if I wanted to cancel their service to make sure I did it before their next delivery. So eventually I did. I can't guarantee that this has made them happy or that they will help others, but it certainly has made ME happier. Seriously: the experience was absolutely awful and if they are happy to help now, they sure weren't doing anything to fix their own issues all the times that I called.

Delivery no show 2 times in a row. They charged me but no food delivered. No communication why, customer service is horrible. Do not recommend using them

So really I would give 3.5 stars. I did several months of delivery and I never had issues with customer service. They are v. prompt to reply with emails and if anything was damaged or not tasty in a box, they would immediately replace with credit toward next box (but typically not credit back to credit card). For me, the actual produce fruit was not impressive, (and I typically did not pick organic choices). They were small fruit, and a lot of times not too tasty and flavorless. I feel like I do better picking fruits at local grocery store. What I liked was their grocery and meat/seafood items. That's where I sometimes found more unusual items and deals. I also did not need to order large enough to qualify for free shipping, so the shipping charges for my smaller orders added up again compared to going to local grocery store. I'm someone that does not really mind going to actual stores to pick my own products.

I’ve always had great customer service interactions with this company…only one time in over a year have I had an (1 item in a box of many) item not delivered and once I had some questionable broccoli. Both times the problem was dealt with promptly. I’ve even received a free sample of something once or twice! I have text notifications set up so I know exactly when my delivery is dropped off and so far the produce and snacks have been great, our kids love the yogurt covered 🥨 I do my grocery store shopping around my bi-weekly delivery to ensure I always have fresh fruit in the house without buying so much at one time that any goes bad.

Using Imperfect Food has been a great experience. My dad is 94 and has caregivers cook for him. So this box of weekly groceries ensures he gets healthy fruits and veges. I sometimes order something out of his ordinary itms for him to try. If it doesnt get used by him, my husband brings it home and cooks it for us.
Things he particularly likes are chocolate broken almonds, chocolate chip cookies, and the lemon torte is delicious.
Once a carton of eggs came and some were broken. They quickly reimbursed for them.

I created an account with them after constantly seeing their ads and I wanted to see whether or not it would be worth it for me budget wise. While in the process of looking at their products, I was deleting and adding stuff to my cart to see total costs. Then I get a notification from my bank that I was charged for that order. I’ve reached out multiple times for a refund and cancellation of subscription and heard nothing and even after reaching out they still went ahead and have continued to process my order. After this experience alone and all of the horrible reviews I’ve been seeing online I will never “order” from here again. $130 for food I could haven gotten cheaper for elsewhere, I don’t even want to imagine dealing with the price it would have been before I started deleting stuff.
Im Surprised by the bad reviews as I’ve been using Imperfect Foods for a few years. We started so our son in college could have fruit veggies but then he came home and they easily switched to our home address! The boxes are always neatly packed and I haven’t had too many issues with products except an occasional open bag of chips and they always reimburse. My one thing I don’t like is that they will fill your cart for you if you forget so you have to stay on top of it. I wish too that you didn’t have to have a minimum to avoid shipping fee but misfits market charges you one no matter how much you spend. (I use both services) I especially like Imperfects specialty products like their vegan Mayo but they aren’t permanent items. Thanks Imperfect!

I really wanted this service to work out and gave it several tries to see if the kinks would work themselves out. Unfortunately, as with many of these other poor reviews, it’s been an overall disappointment. I’ve had boxes come with broken open ice gel packs that soak through boxes of goods and drip all over the other produce - and floor. This has actually led to the box breaking open at the corners further damaging the products. I agree that most items can be found for equal or lesser prices even at the local Whole Foods. One of the biggest problems I’ve had is the “guaranteed delivery date.” In my area it says it will be delivered by 8pm on Wednesday with absolutely no disclaimer that it is actually delivered on Friday. I work some full weekends, unable to physically go home, and therefore I’m forced to buy a second set of groceries and often the ones from Imperfect Foods are bad come Sunday. If they came on Wednesday it wouldn’t be a problem. Also, many of these reviews have responses “apologizing” and directing people to use customer service. Though they often have generic answers that don’t even solve the problems. After weeks of these problems upon problems with no actual genuine solutions offered it’s time to say goodbye to this headache. It’s not worth your money. There is a reason it only has two stars…
My wife and I signed up for the program with high hopes and believing that this was a great way to reduce wasteful big box store measures. On several orders our items were subpar to say the least, and after my wife attempted to cancel the service we were still charged for one last order that an algorithm chose to ship to us.
Needless to say, we didn’t need 2/3 of the items and the $100 order placed by their system only equates to about $30 of items we would actually eat thus eliminating the benefit from the system. We literally have decided to just order from Whole Foods on Amazon’s sister account, a much better system without random orders being charged to your account. We would advise staying away from the company as a whole. Very disappointed

They are not cheap! 60 bucks for a couple onions lemons apples tomatoes. A stalk of leaf lettuce carrots celery cilantro and strawberries. It would have been better if I just went to Walmart. I'm going to try misfits next... We will see if any better.

The Imperfect Foods delivery person left a 45 pound box on a high shelf in my apartment lobby. (The shelf is taller than I am.) I tried to pull the box down, but didn't realize how heavy it was. The box fell on my head, injuring my neck and back.
Long story short... I now have to take them to small claims court to be reimbursed for $550 for chiropractic.
It's common sense not to leave a heavy box on a high shelf. There are customers who are short, weak and/or disabled. There was no reason it couldn't have been put on the floor.
After telling me they would train all their delivery people so this wouldn't happen again, it happened again.
P.S. Previously, I had gotten food poisoning from Imperfect Foods lettuce, complete with projectile vomiting. They didn't respond to me for days.
EDIT: I went through months of dealing with Imperfect Foods, and with their insurance company, and then filing a complaint. They are not reimbursing me, so now I have to take the next step and take them to small claims court.
The worst part of this is that I was really hurt. I was in a lot of pain for a long time, and had trouble sleeping for weeks. I never received an apology.
