The price limits the service delivered. I have a had more than one sale complete in the last 12 months, none of them particularly complicated. Yes I received low cost conveyancing but I spent too mu... See more

I would give them zero if I could

I had an extremely poor experience with Inspire Legal when purchasing an auction property with a strict 28-day completion deadline.
From the outset, the transaction required proactive management, yet there was a complete lack of communication, coordination, and timely action. Despite providing all proof of funds at onboarding and repeatedly asking for confirmation that everything was in order, our documents were not properly reviewed until the day before completion.
Key issues included:
- Significant delays in identifying onboarding requirements for third parties
- Repeated requests for information that had already been provided
- A lack of clear communication and no defined case ownership
- Errors in legal documents (including the completion statement and SDLT)
- System issues which prevented onboarding from being completed
- Failure to notify us of interest charges when an extension was agreed
We were left constantly chasing updates and, at times, spoken to in an unprofessional and dismissive manner. We were even told we should “know the process,” despite instructing them to guide us through it.
As a result of these failures, we missed our original completion deadline and incurred additional costs, despite responding promptly to every request.
We have completed multiple auction purchases with other firms and have never experienced such poor handling of a transaction. This process caused unnecessary stress and financial impact.
I would not recommend Inspire Legal based on this experience.
My experience with Inspire Legal Group…
My experience with Inspire Legal Group has been extremely poor. After instructing them for a property purchase, they abruptly terminated representation at a very early stage, citing “non‑compliance” and, astonishingly, the fact that I had left a 1‑star review based on my initial experience.
I complied with the requests made of me and sought clarification where needed. No meaningful progress had been made on the file, yet instead of addressing concerns professionally, the firm chose to disengage and blame the client.
They even referenced that my previous solicitor had been de‑instructed, as though that somehow justified their behaviour. This was unnecessary, inappropriate, and felt like an attempt to shift responsibility.
The idea that a law firm would use a client review as grounds to withdraw service is deeply unprofessional. Reviews exist to reflect genuine experiences, not to be used as leverage or punishment.
Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before instructing this firm.
AVOID IF YOU NEED RELIABLE…
AVOID IF YOU NEED RELIABLE CONVEYANCING!
COMPLAINT DISMISSED WITHOUT PROPER INVESTIGATION.
Extremely disappointing experience with Inspire Legal and, in particular, the way legitimate concerns were later reframed and dismissed rather than properly addressed.
My complaint was never about the inconvenience of providing AML or source of funds documentation. I fully understand regulatory requirements and cooperated throughout by promptly supplying extensive evidence, including long-standing savings statements substantially exceeding the purchase price.
The issue was the inconsistent and contradictory communication surrounding what was supposedly required, repeated duplicated requests, poor internal coordination, unanswered emails, and the unnecessary stress caused throughout a time-sensitive auction transaction.
Most concerning was the way these issues were later misrepresented when I attempted to raise a formal complaint.
During a call with director Natalie, the complaint was repeatedly reduced to me “being unhappy about providing proof of funds”, despite my written complaint emails clearly stating otherwise.
Particularly troubling was the inconsistency surrounding a completion statement allegedly being “required” for an unrelated house sale transaction shown on one bank statement. I was repeatedly told by Natalie, Amy and Kayleigh the matter could not proceed without it, yet shortly afterwards the acting solicitor at the firm confirmed in writing that source of funds had in fact already been signed off — despite that document never being provided.
Rather than being honest and acknowledging the obvious inconsistency or communication failures, Natalie became defensive, argumentative and dismissive, with the substance of the complaint seemingly ignored altogether.
The handling of the complaint itself was equally concerning. After more than a week without meaningful contact, I raised the issue directly, only to be told almost immediately that the complaint was “closed” and compensation denied without any proper investigation or formal written outcome.
Overall, the experience demonstrated a serious lack of accountability, organisation, and professional client care. I would strongly advise anyone considering using this firm for conveyancing or auction transactions to proceed with caution.
Due to the handling of both the transaction and the complaint itself, I am now escalating the matter formally through the Legal Ombudsman process and raising concerns with the Solicitors Regulation Authority for independent review.
In my view, the overall handling of communication, complaint procedure, and client care throughout this matter fell significantly below the standard I reasonably expected from a regulated legal practice.

Lack of communication and failure to reply to questions. This is an outfit to avoid.
I recently used Inspire
I recently used Inspire after a recommendation from a friend.
I found Hannah, to be professional, yet friendly. She was very efficient and gave me advice before acting on my behalf. This demonstrates that she did have my best interest for a positive outcome at heart, and was not simply out for the business.
The price was appropriate and fair. Business was as tied up quickly with no loose ends.
I would recommend this company.
Charlotte Topham from Inspire Legal…
Charlotte Topham from Inspire Legal took over our case from the collapsed PM LAW. She was professional and very efficient in dealing with our case and keeping us up to date with all developments. After PM Law we felt fortunate to have had Charlotte deal with our case because she was always available to answer queries quickly and efficiently by either email or phone. I would also like to thank all the team at Inspire Legal, all very polite and helpful, we highly recommend Inspire Legal and especially Charlotte Topham who is first class.

5 Star Seller Experience
I was repanelled with Inspire Legal Group by Home Legal Direct after our initial solicitors company 'closed it's doors'
John Jose at Inspire Legal Group was allocated my case and was so helpful in clarifying and explaining each step of the way. He was very approachable and efficient. John responded to my calls and emails immediately and was in constant contact with the buyers solicitors, meaning I was kept up to date throughout and my sale process was a very slick process.
I was very grateful for this and could only give a 5 Star review for the experience I received. Thank you again John Jose and the Inspire Legal Group from a very happy seller.
John took over our case late in selling Knight Cottage
John Jose (of Inspire Legal) took over our case from the collapsed PM LAW when our sale was nearing completion. He was brilliant, professional and proactive. He understood our concerns and worked hard to meet our tight deadlines. He kept us informed of all the developments in the chain and was available on the phone when we needed him. He is a credit to Inspire Legal Group Team and we have no hesitation in recommending him. 10 out of 10 !
Inspire Legal Group were great to work…
Inspire Legal Group were great to work with in my auction purchase, completing the transaction at breakneck speed and generally providing incredible service for a reasonable price.
I sold my home and used Inspire Legal…
I sold my home and used Inspire Legal as my conveyancer. I chose this firm due to their competitive quote. I was happy with the service I received and was able to complete on the sale ahead of my initial expectations. John Jose was particularly helpful throughout the process. I would recommend using this firm for conveyancing.
Inspire Legal, breaking the mold
Over the years I have had some pretty disappointing experiences when it comes to conveyancing, but I am pleased to say that Inspire Legal did not fall into that category, far from it actually. John Jose was my conveyancer and was truly first class, keeping me informed throughout the entire process. In previous house sales, my experience was that I always found myself chasing the conveyancer for answers, but that was not the case with John, he kept me well informed on progress with excellent and regular communication ..... and that's what it's all about in my view, communication !! Well done John and thankyou !!
Should have been an easy transaction
Should have been an easy transaction. But wasn't!
Not Inspires fault though. The sellers Solicitor was useless!
But all the staff at Inspire were great.
All tried to get the transaction done quickly, in spite of lethargy on the sellers Solicitors part.
So thanks to Charlotte, George and Stephen for continually informing me of progress, and pushing for the exchange to go through.
Would happily use Inspire again.
Great company
Great communication. Can't fault this company and extremely competitive pricing. Would use again
Satisfactory sale achieved
We were put in contact with this company through Home Legal Direct. Our experience was genuinely good. We had one person handling our sale which was John Jose. The first buyer went up to exchange of contracts before pulling out at the last minute. Fortunately another buyer appeared soon after and John took it in his stride. All contact was through emails and with 3 persons as owners, it demanded a bit of coordination but all the forms got filled and returned to keep things moving. The buyer's solicitor was a bit slow coming up to exchange of contracts and John had to respond at short notice on the day to get the sale over the line. Our experience was very positive hence the 5 star rating.
We got it home in the end
We got it home in the end, I and numerous others involved had to sign the same documents twice (I’m assuming because they lost them over Christmas break) but that’s standard for solicitors nowadays.
Highly recommend inspire legal group
Highly recommend inspire legal group. Our experience with them as conveyensing has been so professional and swift. I cannot recommend them enough as the whole process from start to finish was made so easy for us. Thankyou inspire legal we would have no hesitation in recommending them to others. Friendly warm and professional. Looking after our needs all the way through.
Did the work but communication/service was frustrating at times.
They did the work and eventually managed to close however I never felt informed as to what was going on. I dealt with upwards of 5/6 different people, never had one person who was handling my case. Constantly had to chase for updates because either none were forthcoming or I received requests for chases from the property seller's solicitors. The level of communication I felt was poor, the customer service was ok at best but they did do the work and we eventually managed to close so I can't take away the work they did but it wasn't the most enjoyable experience in all honesty.
Highly recommended
In a nutshell, I found the staff to be polite, professional, correspondent and most importantly, very competitive. I would highly recommend and would have no hesitation at using their services again.
