Disappointing Customer Service

Purchased a composite door from Safestyle in July 2022 had nothing but issues with the door as the lock was intermittent and the actual door was not fitted correctly. An engineer eventually came out looked at the door , tried the lock and said exactly what I had already told them. Engineer went away stating Safestyle would contact me to make an appointment. This was in July 2023. Safestyle contacted me to arrange an appointment and was given a date of November 2023. I now had to wait 4 months without being able to use my front door. Response from Safestyle well you'll be okay if you have a back door. I Contacted Safestyle a number of times between July and November to ask if any appointments were available sooner only to be told no here weren't any. I Contacted Safestyle in November only to find out they had gone into administration. I have sent online messages to Installsure who took over any issues with Safestyle door on 4 occasions with no response. I have left 6 voicemails with them on the contact number they advise to contact them on with no response. This does not include the other occasions when I could not leave a message as the voicemail box was full.
I have even sent online messages to their complaints department and still no courtesy call. Poor customer service and I still have a £3500 door that does not work.

Won’t pay for new door when still have warranty left

Our composite front door lock mechanism was faulty couldn’t get in one day so safestyle called emergency locksmith (June 2023)
They then came to fix it but couldn’t & new door was placed on order
Of course in that time Safestlye went into administration
We contacted yourself as advised via all social media & internet search and our policy number was given & emails sent back & forth
I was advised that as our front door wasn’t properly secure we could claim under emergency & sent in the invoice for the replacement door & fitting
We have 2 years left on the warranty from safestyle yet we are now out of pocket as you have refused our claim
Stating door is over a year old
Then that claim had been started before Safestyle went bust make your mind up what reason are you declining our claim on !!!
What is the point of the insurance/warranty if you won’t honour it
I will be making a complaint to you tomorrow in writing & if you still decline to pay we will go to the insurance ombudsman

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the decision we made on your claim. All claims made to us are assessed in line with the terms and conditions of your policy, which would have been sent to you shortly after the installation of your door. If your claim triggered our exclusion within the policy this will explain why your claim was declined. However, if you feel that the decision we took was not in line with the terms set out in your policy we would love to hear from you, so we can put it right. Please email our Claims team at claims@installsure.co.uk with details of the case to include your name, address, policy and claim number. They just do the bare minimum

They just do the bare minimum and I'm still chasing for a resolution after months of correspondence. Our window company went bust and left lots of shoddy work and it's been such an effort to try and get this resolved, despite paying a fortune for our windows and the supporting guarantee. E-mail correspondence with Installsure is intermittent at best. These shoddy companies should be made illegal as it's a huge con.

Absolute joke of a company

Absolute joke of a company. Both Installsure and Everest are companies that should be investigated for corruption and fraud. These are high value items that shouldn’t be faulty from install and homeowners being tens of thousands of pounds out of pocket!

I would give zero if I could

I would give zero if I could - this company are shocking - absolutely appalling. Avoid like the plague for every possible reason.

They don't even put a phone number on their website and neither do they respond to emails.

Complete and utter waste of time.

if I wasn't selling my property I would contact the ombudsman about this company.

Composite Front Door replaced.

Claimed on a composite front door ( fitted 9 years
ago ) that had cracked and although it took some time had good communication and door was fitted by local firm who was on InstallSure list of approved suppliers. Note:- These type of insurances only cover you for effectively the last 4 years of 10 year warranty , the first 6 years ( if you paid by credit card ) need to claim back from your bank and of course you installer needs to have gone bust. Perhaps this should be made clearer by firms when product is installed.

Complete waste of time

Seems like my experience is common amongst those unfortunate enough to have to attempt to use this company.

Minor repair work needed to a window following the original fitters ceasing to trade, but fobbed off with some template response that can be interpreted as….you paid with a credit card, not our problem, take it up with your bank.

It would be almost funny if it weren’t true. Absolute waste of time and energy. I’d urge anyone whose purchases are “supposedly” backed by an Installsure guarantee to be aware of these kind of tactics before signing on the dotted line.

Beware Installsure

There are a few things that need to be explained about Installsure. Firstly it is housed in the same building as FENSA, the self certification organisation for the Fenestration(glazing) industry. Although there are supposed to be ‘Chinese Walls’ between the two organisations, in fact they are part of the same system and the SAME COMPANY that has convinced the government that the industry is properly regulated, which it is not, it is a con that allows a corrupt industry to get away with murder and has pulled the wool over the eyes of incompetent government and MP’s. If you don’t believe this contemplate the following:
1. FENSA being a ‘self certification’ system, effectively means that the glazing industry agrees to follow it’s rules and certifies that it has - of course this is nonsense as there is no inspection system carried out by FENSA after installation and any complaint made to them about faulty installation will either be ignored or fobbed off; in any case try to get through to them on the telephone - impossible!
2, Installsure formerly CGFI is another con. Most people when they receive the insurance certificate after an installation think that it is genuine insurance and most do not read the terms. It does neither cover you for faulty installation nor fraud. All it does is provide cover for faulty installation or fraud if the glazing company goes bust. Then again it is, even in this situation, almost impossible to register and successfully pursue a claim (see the many posts) on this site providing incotraverible evidence of this.

However, all is not lost, I pursued a successful claim, let me explain how. After Everest went bust, I had a claim for poor installation which I had unsuccessfully tried to have rectified through both Everest and FENSA. Having realised what was going on I used the managing director of FENSA to personally pursue the claim for me, using the name of the MD on all email communication, to ensure accountability ( job loss is a great motivator). At the same time I copied all communication to my MP whom I had briefed on the situation. This did not work as Everest refused to carry out repairs demanded by FENSA, and Everest then went bust. However I and my MP had put the wind up them and the MD of FENSA personally made sure that the claim was honoured which it was.
If you wish to be successful about the many complaints you have against glazing companies that are fraudulent and regularly go bust then reopen again, as Everest did, follow this procedure and involve your MP ensuring that your MP is fully briefed about what is really going and emphasise that this very dodgy industry needs to be properly regulated and not allowed to pull the wool over the government’s eyes by pretending to be regulated when it is not.

Installsure - Nil help - no stars

Like many others, I bought a house that had previously had Everest Windows installed, as Everest have gone into liquidation they will not assist. Fensa told me to contact Installsure, i have paid to have the policy transferred to my name (£25), on making a claim for defective door and windows I am now being asked for the original bank statement for the purchase of Everest windows, this is 6 years ago by 2 previous owners. I have no way of contacting them, what is the point of all of the insurance if they want additional info.

What previous homeowner would provide a bank statement 6 years old to a complete stranger? GDPR??? And surely the fact there is FENSA certs and GGfi policy this proves the windows were paid for......

Unbelievably awful service

Unbelievably awful service. How on earth do companies like this stay in business? I would have given a ‘Zero stars’ rating if it was possible. I have filled in the online claim form, submitting all of the documentation, photos, repair quote, and proof of payment that was requested. After several weeks I got asked to do the whole thing all over again using a PDF copy of the claim form. My claim is only £150 but all I get when I enquire about progress is a request for yet more information. Only use this company if you are 100% certain that you will never, ever, need to make a claim. If you want to use a company that cares about your claim, find another company because Installsure doesn’t care about you or your glazing problem.

Stay away from Installsure

Have come here to leave a review and was not surprised to see Installsure's rating is 2.1.
We've had an ongoing claim for a long time now for a repair to a patio door lock. They've now stopped answering our calls and certainly don't reply to messages.
We even took to calling on private and different numbers and surprise surprise they answer.

As they have already agreed there is a claim and they sent people out who failed the repair, we have no choice but to have to take further action.

Stay away from this company.

Appauling

I am a contractor. I was contacted by a client for a small job which was quoted for and accepted. The work carried out and customer very happy. After invoicing the client, I was asked to re-invoice their insurance company - Installsure. This was done completing Installsure's instruction of an accompanying guarantee for the work and a signed customer satisfaction declaration form. The work was completed on 10th June. Installsure only send automatic replies once an e-mail has been sent. They don't seem to have the ability to act on or reply to a specific e-mail or pay invoices. Tom Fellowes ignores calls, messages and e-mails

Awful company!

Again, if I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Have been waiting for nearly a year for repairs to faulty Everest conservatory, supposedly covered by an Installsure IBG. Can’t get hold of anyone, numerous calls and emails sent and no response. Will be going to Financial Ombudsman soon as getting beyond a joke now.

Would give zero stars if I could

Would give zero stars if I could. The insurance is not worth the paper it’s written on. Paid by credit card so can’t go through them for six years if the 10 year warranty apparently. Appears to be a shoddy company set up for other shoddy companies to avoid any liabilities and to give customers false comfort that things will be ok if anything goes wrong

GGFI great staff

Had to ring Installsure formally known as GGFI to confirm something. I rang to treble check something about their insurance today.
Though I knew the answer but needed it from the horses mouth.
A big thank you to Courtney & Neil for their help.
Both very knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant.
