Slow and unreliable
Used one yesterday. Very slow. Tried 2 today, neither worked. 3rd one connected but still super slow for a rapid that costs over the odds in comparison to some 7kW and 22kW chargers.

Great Charging Experience at Barnstable Instavolt
Stopped at the Instavolt charger in Barnstable and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The chargers were easy to find, clearly sign-posted, and the whole area felt clean and well maintained. Plugging in was quick and straightforward, with the charger starting up almost instantly—no fussing with the app it worked instantly to, also there is a payment screen if you don't use the app.
The charging speed was reliably fast, and I was back on the road much sooner than expected. What really stood out was how simple and stress-free the whole process was. It’s exactly what you want from a public charging stop: quick, convenient, and dependable.
Highly recommended for anyone passing through Barnstable and needing a top-up.

As a ev owner who has to rely solely on public charges have found InstaVolt to be the best option locally. So easy to use the chargers - very simple clear instructions. I have taken full advantage of the price drop and am particularly happy that this now starts at an earlier time. I was finding myself alone in a car park late at night once the nearby food outlets closed. One outlet is now open 24 hours and combined with the earlier price drop this has made the experience not so daunting. App is very easy to use. Only issue is I wish I could add a payment card to the app rather than having to put the details in every time but it’s a small inconvenience.

Got the InstaVolt app as there were chargers next to the hotel is was staying in for a training course. Didn’t check the rates and was a bit shocked at the 86p per KW rate. I paid a lot for the convenience

I’ve been using InstaVolt regularly to charge my car — especially during peak hours — and I have to say the experience is always reliable and smooth. The chargers are fast, easy to use, and always working properly. The South Harrow site near McDonald’s is especially convenient, with great lighting and a safe location.

Total rubbish 4 of these not working saturaday or sunday rang the number promised a free recharge once up and running but that has not been stuck to

The £15 amounts you mentioned are pre-authorisation fees, which are temporarily held by your bank each time you tap your card to start a charge. These aren’t additional charges and will automatically be released within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
The £37 would be for the actual cost of the electricity you used during your successful charging session.

This is an expensive way to charge unless you can use the app. Despite always trying, the app fails leaving me no option but to use a debit card and pay full price. Of course I don’t receive any rewards either! Poor design.
