Annoying

The smartscore system is unfair. wastes time. makes you tired and mad. All the reviews are bad. Maybe they should see what they are doing to people. Literally the definition of ignorance. ALL of the 5 stars reviews go on the top. THATS SO ANNOYING. that’s just not okay. I bet it’s just a bunch of employees of ixl or something or teachers who like to see their students suffer. if you push kids too hard then they’ll end up not learning anything! You stupid? Were you born under a rock? Don’t you know how it feels to be stressed and overwhelmed ? Don’t you know how it feels to have the PRESSURE of school? Or did you have a perfect little life all happy and healthy without having anything to worry about? Don’t you see all the bad reviews you have gotten online? Or you too busy looking at the good reviews? One good review, and you think your app is good. Grow up. This is unbelievable.

DO NOT RECCOMEND

Ugh... This is the worst learning platform I’ve ever used. As a student, I absolutely do not recommend it. It teaches nothing, just throws questions at you without explaining anything. Get one right: “Yay, +2 smart score.” Get one wrong: “Oh, there goes all my progress, now I’m back to 22 points.” I can’t stand this platform.

IXL is the stupidest

IXL is the stupidest, most moronic—and, frankly, utterly terrible and insidious—program on the face of the earth. It is so abysmal that you’d be better off assigning the work to a dog. It is, quite simply, a stress-generating machine. If you ever need to practice acting out emotions like annoyance, rage, or pure, unadulterated hatred, I highly recommend giving this damn program a try.

Ixl makes learning a struggle.

Ixl makes it so that the learning that it advertises as fun, isn't. The repetive questions and fatal loss of smart score that plagues users that make it to the challenge zone make learning unfun, and that is why most of my teachers only make us do it up to 85% or do 10 minuntes of it.

Ixl was an incredibly traumatizing

Ixl was an incredibly traumatizing experience for me. I started using it in elementary school and luckily it stopped when I I entered high school. Ixl gave me su!cidal ideation due to how punishing the smart score system is. Teachers would only count them as completion grades, so even if you struggled for hours and had 99%, you still got an F. It was my first taste of true futility. I hope this company goes under.

IXL IS NOT FUN.

Ok, to start off, i have ADHD, which makes it hard for me to focuz on repetitive tasks. Ixl makes it feel like torture because of that. The scoring system is rigged. Litterally. You have to reach 100 to do a whole lesson. For math and english, its smartscore. Which at the start goes up fast, dips slow. But over 70 smartscore it goes up 1-3 score per right question, and goes down up to 15 SMARTSCORE FOR 1 WRONG QUESTION. Science is a bit better. But instead of smartscore its like a video game. Get 2-3 right, collect tokens. But problem with the tokens is that sonetimes for getting a question right you only get half a token. Theres like 10 full ones. Sometimes your dont even get ONE. Ive talked to my friend who also uses ixl, and we agree english is trash. He said word for word he got a question saying 'Alan is very good at riding the bike. He is going to the tv show to compete this summer, as he just learnt how to do some new tricks on it.' And you had to pick what is was meaning to say - 1. Alan is good at riding bikes, 2. Alan is going to the tv show to compete. 3. Alan is learning new tricks.

Isnt it all? Nope. Only that alan was going to the tv show. IXL has also got questions or info wrong, so when i answe right ixl still says NO. And the worst part is that its repetitive and strict, that i remember when i was young finding division and being so happy. Now ixl has crushed it so much that when i see it i try to avoid it. I remember being happy about achivements and learning, and now ive been destracted from ixl and trying to avoid it as a whole. Now since im year 6 and doing division takes me an hour or 2 for 1 lesson. ONE. That says a lot, right? Just.. dont use ixl. I told my dad and he said 'Well isnt it just tough? Work through it.'

IXL is a great program for students in need of help and those that want to work above grade level.

I was able to assign the topics that individual students were weak in. As a whole, I could also assign topics that were curriculum related for the entire class. I encouraged students to reach a level of about 80% rather than trying to achieve a master level. Once they achieved a good score in many levels than they could return to previously assigned topics to try to achieve the master level. For students weak in a subject area and especially if they are self conscious, IXL gives them the opportunity to improve at their own speed and without the peering eyes of their classmates. As a teacher, IXL aids in assessing each student's level. The student learns as they continue doing more problems. It is this aspect that is the strength of this program. Last year my students completed 36,000 problems. I have helped many teachers set up and start this program. Presently, one of my teaching peers has a class that has surpassed 40,000 problems. Can you imagine marking 40,000 problems. Some of her students are attempting math problems 2 grade levels above their grade level. I am a huge believer in IXL and as an educator I do recommend the use of it. Again, the program allows weaker students to improve without pressure and high achievers to work above grade level. Not only can IXL be done in school but students can log in at home and further their education and even involve parents and or care providers.

Worst app ever doesn’t teach us

Worst app ever doesn’t teach us. This “learning tool” is used to prepare for staar (it doesn’t do anything)!🤬. My teacher assigns one every day, she even had to make her own activity because IXL was so bad! I even tried to write a review at school but they wouldn’t let me because they don’t want us to know what IXL has been doing.

The SmartSmart score is rigged and it's just so boring, I'm scared to type in even anything, so I don't even get it wrong, and if I get something wrong, it takes away like 30 points, and then when I get something something right it adds to 2.

Nothing other to say than hot garbage.

Nothing left to say other than hot garbage. IXL is made to improve education, but it does the complete opposite of that. It bores me out of my freaking mind, and it literally does nothing. My school assigns IXL skills every week and it sucks. For example, when I get a question right, I get 3 points, but when I get a question wrong, it deducts 10 points and whoops, I'm back to square one. The only thing IXL is useful for is revision. Please, school admins, parents, or whoever, please step away from this bizarre learning platform and useless platform and find something else (and please read what each platform actually does before considering, thank you)

IXL makes up 99% of my insanity

Me and my classmates can agree that IXL can give anxiety, Depression, And possibly jumping off a cliff while throwing my Chromebook. At the start start of the year, We had about 22 Students, But because of the ridiculous learning, Some of us left. This is mainly due to the Smartscore, It's like gambling $1 Million dollars but if you win, You only win $10.

Stop IXL

We have 2 hours of homework every night, and for kids who do extra stuff you cant get it done. The score system is messed up with 3 points for a wright andswer and minus 10 for a wrong one. This app pushes me to tears every time I use it.
