I purchased a sueded crew neck tshirt from James Perse and can't believe how terrible the quality is compared to the price I paid. The shirt is made from very thin material which gives it a soft, comforting feel however this has also makes it very susceptable to being damaged just from being washed. After a few washes I am getting small holes in the garment and the torso of this shirt somehow gets longer after each wash, not to mention the uneven streaking that has appeared after the very first machine wash.

James Perse quality control is not good, I've purchased few pants from them at $260.00 per pants and most of them have issue with sewing all rear pockets have multiple stitching and some have double stitchings.
One of them stitching was coming apart.
Not worth $260.00 and when I contact customer service they offer me 10% discount toward a new purchase.

I bought what I thought was a first class cotton tracksuit from James Perse in Westbourne Grove at the expensive price of around £320. I was assured I was getting cotton of highest quality. I wore it a couple of times and washed it following all instructions for cold gentle wash. The colour bled even in cold wash making all other washing tainted - and the track suit came out so stretched I couldn’t wear it without rolling up the sleeves 5-6 times. I wore a few more times and washed again and it got even worse. I took it back to the shop who had to consult with head office for two days then phoned and said I could have my tracksuit back!!! Wow! Really! No gestures, no exchange, no refund. They said there was nothing wrong “as there were no holes in it”😂yet the tracksuit had totally lost shape, the sleeve and body trimmings were all curved up, but James Perse thought it was okay. Had it been a cheap tracksuit I could’ve accepted it but this was £320 down the drain! It is shameful that such rich companies are allowed to get away with such poor quality garments and poor quality customer service. Real quality garments would look unchanged even twenty years later. Not at James Perse. I only had two days of it looking okay.

PS: following this post the manager at Westbourne Grove, Alex, offered to send the track suit to their tailor and have it put right. That’s a nice gesture. To be fair she wasn’t there on Sunday when I went in with my track suit and complained. Had she been there the result might’ve been different.

I ordered several items from James Perse on July 5th 2023. I know James Perse clothing from years and years ago. I own a lot of his items -shirts, dresses no bottoms. These items retained their quality and fit all these years.
BUT, as with everything after the pandemic, James Perse has changed too. I wore the Vintage Little Tee in Copper sz 1. I washed it by hand- no scrubbing- and the color completely faded. I called their customer service and was told there was nothing they could do since i dare to wash it by hand. (!?)
When I told their cust. ser. rep, I was going to return everything, her answer was "perfect" which I found very telling, don't you?
So I decided to return everything I had ordered -about 12 pieces. If they don't stand by their products, why should I?

James Perse is simply remarkable. Their collection of t-shirts crafted from Japanese brushed cotton is truly exceptional. The impeccable fit of their pants is unparalleled, and their shoes exude a trendy appeal. When it comes to shorts, James Perse is my ultimate go-to brand. I am so enamored with their clothing that I have even invested in their luxurious sheets and towels.

While it would be a delightful experience to be invited to one of their exclusive "up to 70%" sales, unfortunately, I have yet to receive such an invitation. Nevertheless, my admiration for James Perse's clothing remains unwavering.

Pants fall apart at the seams after less than 3 months of occasional wear and they claim to not know what the problem is and tell me nothing can be done

Been buying JP t-shirts for a number of years now and as the price has gone up the quality has gone down. Thought I might have been doing something wrong when washing as new holes regularly appear, plus seams often disintegrate, however reading comments on here it looks as though this is quite common. These are expensive garments and although they do look great, I can no longer justify paying the prices asked when the garments start to deteriorate after a few washes.

My experience here is somewhat mixed. I have a corduroy jacket from JP that is good quality for a reasonable cost, and I like the over-all fit and style. Contrarily their shirts and sweat pants (that I purchased) are appallingly priced for the quality, combined with the fact that most of their stuff is made in China. They only have sales with no returns, which strikes me as a poor business practice from a customer perspective (especially when shopping on-line). In my 30 years of shopping at designer department and boutique stores, I find JP to be the least consistent with their products, aside from the price point -buyer beware.

Terrible customer service. The Square Neck Rib Tank fabric stretches as you wear it and becomes a size much larger than mine-completely unwearable. Other fabrics are so tight that my size doesn't fit. There is no consistency in sizes.
I contacted customer service and they could not have cared less. I will not order from this company anymore.

Terrible customer service - bought a pair of shorts that appear never to have been shipped. 5 emails to customer service have resulted in only one response to tell me a different order has been delivered.
They come off as arrogant and with very little regard for their customers.

I have been purchasing their T-Shirts in Size 3 for years. Recently decided to purchase two t-s in a size 4 for a slightly roomier fit. One t fit as it should, and the other was almost 5" narrower in the chest. I thought it had to be mislabeled as it fit as snug, if not tighter than previous 3's I have owned. I reached out to their customer service with a photo, and their response was there can be a "slight" variance from color to color. I wouldn't call 5" slight. I told them I really wanted the correct item/size and questioned if it was mislabeled. They told me it would take them up to a week to review. They then emailed me back saying they didnt see it as a quality issue and as they can vary "slightly" from color to color, I would still have to pay shipping for a return. Terrible customer service and quality for a product of this price. Last purchase ever.

Really horrible customer service. After 40 days my sweatshirt got a hole in it. I tried to exchange it and they would not stand behind their clothing. I was accused of making the hole! Unbelievable that the woruld accuse me of that. I only wanted to exchange it for the same piece. I will never purchase another piece of clothing from this company. NEVER!

What a terrible company. Place an order on Dec 5th for a Christmas gift and they confirm the order immediately. After not receiving it for several weeks call back and they said they cancelled it. Unbelievable.

For the second time I have purchased pants that become threadbare after very few washes. They are washed in cold water and hung out to dry.
I have sent an email with photos to head office who did not respond . I have even telephoned head office and no one responds. This company have the worst customer care and the clothing quality is poor.

Purchased two(2) t-shirts online after talking with Marisa multiple times regarding sizing, shipping, and their return policy and turn-time, so I could make an informed decision whether to shop with them. Was advised the return if necessary would be processed upon receipt. As of today two(2) weeks later have still not received a credit back to my credit card of merchandise that they've had for two weeks, and probably sold to someone else. Not only do they have the merc, but they have the revenue from merch that was sent back to them the same day it was received, from OC to LA, less than an hour away, not out of state. After calling them repeatedly over a two(2) week period, today 7/9/20 they state it takes them close to a month to process a return to a credit card, which they can't explain why, nor will they escalate or prioritize to assist the customer. First and last time shopping with James Perse.
EPIC FAIL!!!!!

I ordered a suit and top €1500 online the James Perse website. It was to be delivered to Dublin Ireland, within 5 days. Unfortunately the suit fit was not good so I had to return the suit. It was delivered by DHL so I thought it would be sent back by DHL. But after a very difficult process to figure how to return the items it transpired I had to drop the package to a collection point. I did that 2 weeks ago and still no sign of receipt of the package and refund. I rang, useless, customer service and was informed that it takes at least 6 weeks for International Items to arrive back at the store and then another 10 days for the refund. I have never heard anything so ridiculous. It’s such a scam as James Perse has that money in their account for all that period of time and I have no goods. They can deliver in 5 day’s but return takes at least 6 weeks. There is something very strange about that. I will not be shopping from James Perse website again. Dreadful Service.

When you pay $75 a t-shirt you expect it to hold together. I wrote to them after a few wears telling them that the material was coming apart at the v on my v neck t-shirts. I sent pictures of all of them (I bought 5).
Their response “ We have carefully reviewed the details you reported concerning your shirt, and we cannot conclusively determine that the deterioration of your item was due to a manufacturer’s defect”
Never buying another thing from them again.
The response annoyed me more than the poor quality of their shirts..

I have purchased a number of items form a James Perse store and have to say that the quality of all the items id really bad. I have purchased their polo shirts, T-shirts, long-sleeved T's, underwear and sweat pants. I no longer wear any of these out in public due to the holes in the fabric, tears at the seams and all round worn-out look. It's a shame because i love the overall aesthetic of the line. The price is just too high for the poor quality

Beautifully designed stores, appealingly designed merchandise, absolutely DISGUSTING quality!!!
This is a review based on multiple experiences over 6 years.
Don’t mind paying for quality, but their quality is terrible, which is insulting given their price points.

Love the clothes and fit. However, as others say, they fail really fast. Just don't expect the stuff to last. I don't know if poor quality fabric's or what, but these are not for people that care about money. You need to be financially well off to pay.

What annoys me is that it's so hard to buy them eCommerce online. Super annoying site and then they cancelled me. No reason, just did. Dopey.

If you look on Glassdoor, they sound like a horrible place to work. I guess that flows through.
