Dear Estuardo Ortiz (CEO JetSmart). I really would like you to answer me. Why do you run a company where it is totally impossible to get in contact with? I wrote many emails, try to contact you through messenger. I believe you don't have real people working at the backoffice. I get all these silly answers back. It seems like a computer or AI is dealing with urgent matters of real people? Maybe you should work a day at the Web Center and read what harm your company can do and how terrible the complaint handling goes. Draconian. As a European traveller I am shocked. You don't take me serious at all. It's all about money, money, money and more money. I am a tourist and my long-held dream of taking a trip in Chile has been pretty much ruined by JetSmart. Two flights: one cancelled last minute and on the other one my suitcase was forgotten. What is my claim: I simply want a compensation and my money back for a last minute cancelled flight (which cost me a lot of money), and you just don't respond. I get a totally impersonal email two hours before departure, saying that flight is cancelled. I am at the airport. I don't know what to do. There is no JetSmart office, there is no representative. There is nothing. I can only buy a new ticket for an evening flight with Latam that is 4 times more expensive than yours. Is it crazy that I want to recover costs I made because of you? The only thing you offer is a voucher back and I have to wave all my rights. Why would I accept a voucher? Why would I ever fly again with your company? One time you cancelled the flight and the other time you let me wait 4 hours in the middle of the night because you apparently forgot all about our flight. For four hours our suitcases where laying somewhere at the airport (I could see, I have airtags in my suitcase). Nobody came to explain, there was no Jetsmart staff...nothing. Not even an apology not to mention a compensation. So I am writing you a huge tearjerker letter (an official complaint to the web center ). I get an immediate response back...just telling automatically that I get an answer within 72 hours. And as I write this, we are 7 days, 168 hours further in time and I am eagerly awaiting a message from you. I actually mean that I would love to see a refund of the tickets and my expenses on my Mastercard. Nothing of the sort. You seem to be totally disappeared. Where are you Estuardo? If you built a company, make sure that you take your precious travellers serious. If things go wrong at your end, directly or indirectly, it would be not more then decent to compensate them. As a Stanford and Harvard business student you surely should know about this? Not to forget the lessons you learned on the NorthWestern University about 'Delivering the customer Experience'. Complete scam airline, flight delayed for half an hour because apparently you cant carry a deodorant in the checked luggage they charge you horrendous prices for.
Worst flight company ever
Flight with a delay of 3 hours. They started to communicate the delay the day before (1 hour at the beginning, then became 2 the same day and at the end more than 3). How is it possible that you know the delay 1 day before?? Just organize to be on time. In addition, no communication at the desk, nothing at the gate and furthermore the risk of overbooking.
Is it a normal way of work? I will never fly with them. I prefer to have a stopover in the middle of nowhere but avoid to take this company again.
Spend a little more to save your peace of mind
I feel it is my duty to warn other travelers that might stumble across the low cost flights JETSMART offers and make the mistake of booking with them like we did. JETSMART is by far the worst airline I’ve ever flown with. Our flight from Lima to Cusco was delayed by 3hrs with little to no explanation and then again when we were flying back from Cusco to Lima our flight was cancelled. They sent us an email only a few hours to our flight time after several attempts to check-in were unsuccessful. There was no one from JETSMART at the airport to offer assistance and the email only had a link to get a gift voucher as a refund (which by the way, the link did not work). Why would any sane person want a gift voucher to an airline that has proven itself incompetent? We met many other stranded travelers who flew with JETSMART to save on cost. But I promise you, spend a few more dollars and save your peace of mind instead.

Update Nov. 10, 2023 - After calling and sending various emails from Peru and the United States I was reimbursed quite quickly to my original credit card purchase 100%. In addition I received a $50 credit towards future flights. Nice suprise in the end, but the additional costs of changing to another airline and making additional hotel reservations still left me negative on costs and experience.

If I could put Zero stars I would, DO not book with this company unless you want to be told at the last minute, time and time again that your flight has been cancelled. There business trick is to keep putting passengers off unto the next flight until the jet has reached a profitable capacity for the company to fly.
Then when you're finally tired with they're cat and mouse fraud of "cancelled flight", they make it impossible to get a refund. Horrible business ethics.
It's cheap for a reason, business trickery at It's finest.

Do not book your flights with them. They are scammers!!
They make you think they are selling you a ticket for less price than other airlines but trust me at the end you will pay 10 times for the price.
They cancelled flights without notice, they rescheduled your flight 1 hour before departing, they make you lost the flight for you to pay penalty when you change your flight. Not even mention how they treat pets in cabin!!

Jetsmart is a scamming company! Never book flights with them. They mentioned we were not able to enter due to capacity problems on their side. Then they are refusing to refund us or come with a proper solution. I had to pay for 3 tickets, a total of 500 USD extra to be able to fly back. Compre 4 pasajes desde Santiago a Montevideo, me avisan una semana antes de que se cancela el viaje y solo hay vuelos dos dias antes o dos dias despues. Esto no me sirven ya que hay una celebración de los 80 años de mi padre que depende del viaje. Necesito llegar en la fecha establecida y el vuelo ha sido cancelado por motivos operacionales?????? El daño emocional y económico para mi familia es enorme y solo ofrecen devolver el dinero, aunque hay vuelos en esas fechas en otras lineas aereas. El colmo que puedan hacer eso. El perjuicio es enorme.
I bought 4 tickets from Santiago to Montevideo 3 months ago, today I am informed that the flight has been cancelled for operational reasons???? and the airline only operates two days before or two days after. This is unacceptable because there is an 80 year celebration for my father that depends on the visit from Chile. The psychological and economical damage to my family is huge. They only offer to return he money, although there are other airlines that fly on that same date.
Money correctly refunded
I made a mistake in the booking. 10hours later I started the procedure for cancelling and get the money refunded. During the process i read the reviews and got worried, but they gave me the money back within two days. Happy with it!

if you do not check in and pay for your bags and seat before going to the airport they will charge you double the cost to do so at the check-in window.
On my flight from Lima to Cusco I tried multiple times to pay in advance but the website would not allow me to finalize payment. When I got to the Lima airport I explained this and showed my attempts. They understood and allowed me to pay the online rate. Conversely, when the website would not allow me to complete the payment transaction and I explained the issue at the check-in window on the Cusco airport they ignored me and I ended up paying an extra $100 USD more than I would have had their website functioned properly. Ot was explained to me that the fees had just recently gone up a day or two prior and that in Lima they had charged me the full rate. I find this very hard to accept given that I only paid $30 USD in Lima and $200 in Cusco.
I saw the agent I was dealing with giggling with the agent sitting next to her while she was dealing with my issue.
Very untrustworthy. Would never again fly with this airline.

Jetsmart Argentina
We booked 6 internal flights within Argentina as part of our trip including Patagonia.
At this point we had not read any reviews on Jetsmart.
When we did it was too late and we were very concerned our trip would be disrupted in some way.
Two of our flight times were changed a few weeks before we travelled. This was a nuisance as we had to change some of our pick up / drop off arrangements. Our tip is not to finalise your airport taxis or onward connections until the last minute.
We joined jetsmarts discount club which eliminated any hassle with baggage weight.
One other tip, Jetsmart only accept cash for on board refreshments. We didn't initially realise we could carry on fluids with domestic flights which enabled us to be part self sufficient anyway.
We can only speak for internal flights within Argentina the situation may differ elsewhere. The impression we got was of an airline and staff that are all trying very hard.
The staff were all fantastic, We met a lot over six flights.
The on line check in system was flawless and actually put to shame Iberia who we used for our international flights. Iberias system was terrible and caused us some issues! But that's another story.
No refund for cancelled flight
The company cancelled one leg of our booking. The alternate times did not work for us to make the connection so we had to find an alternate flight.
The company never refunded the unused Lake although through numerous phone calls, they promised that a refund would be forthcoming.
Warning people off this airline as much as possible
I cannot warn people off this airline enough. They cancelled our flight an hour before departure on 1 January and the hoops that I am having to jump through to get my money back is beyond a joke! I fill in a form, they say the refund will be with me in 28 days, I fill in another form, nothing happens, I contact them on Facebook, they give me another form, and so it goes... I have been at this for almost 3 months now and just sent another thing to complete with a link that does not work. Dont waste your time dealing with them, their incompetence is another level; refunding to a credit card is the easiest thing in the world. If you do have to get a refund, get proof of the fact that you are entitled to a refund and go straight to your credit card company

I'm wondering how such company can fly planes or even be a part of Skytrax TOP 100. I usually don't write bad reviews but in this case I have to to warn others. JetSMART are basically scammers to me. It took me 7 months to get a refund for a cancelled flight. There was almost zero will to resolve my issue, just cycled communication over and over again. I believe they were waiting for me to give up or maybe die. None of this happened so I eventually got my money back but it was a looong way. I was about to report them to Chilean authorities.
