Great boots - for indoors. They don’t mention that if you take them outdoors the soles fall off. I have bought 2 pairs - the latest is the “African ranger”. The soles came off all my boots within a few months. When I called their customer support they said “did I get them wet?” If I did, then naturally the soles fall off. I mentioned that I walked outside - and sometime there were puddles and it even Rained occasionally. This seemed to surprise their customer support assistant. They did offer to glue the soles back - but not to cover the costs of sending them to and from Pietermaritzburg - a cost for which I could nearly buy some other shoes. So top tip - these shoes are great - but only indoors. African rangers don’t go out you know.

I ordered the barefoot shoellie. The sizing is generous so they were a half size too big. Return process was very easy but it wasn't detailed in my order documentation. Lack of hold on the heel put me off the shoellie.

I ordered the standard African Ranger next in the correct size (I found them true to size and a good fit for my wide feet). The quality, fit and comfort is exceptional. The only slight criticism is that they're very wide at the heel, even for my fat feet. It doesn't affect me much but I think they could have a slightly narrower heel like most other shoes.

Fantastic company to deal with. I had your vellies as a child and I'm glad that you've gone from strength to strength 30 years later! I look forward to many more years of wearing your shoes and buying South African.

Ordered the bronco barefoot African ranger. Beautiful leather. It's a tough break in period but I was expecting that from the information the company and reviewers have given. A great mission from the company that I can get behind.
The anvil sole is a little slippery in the English mud but again, the information I found prior to purchase says the sole is designed for arid conditions.

Communication was prompt and helpful. The boot that arrived was of very good quality, however fitted too wide for me. The return and refund process was easy and honest, there was no delay. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for good quality leather boots.

I was happy to hear Jim Green have stock in the UK now as Ive been desperate to try them. It took 7 days for delivery, it does say on their website to give them 5-7 days. They were shipped with DHL express, next day once shipped. Boots ate beautifully made with high quality materials, sadly they weren’t quite the right fit as I need wide shoes. Communication was quick and returns was seem-less. I will be buying again when a wider shoe becomes available which they are working. All in all, good service. No issues at all.

Bought a pair of their African Ranger boots. Very well made boots, shipping was swift. I had an issue, messaged their customer service, got a response the day after, and I gotta say, this was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. Super nice and went above and beyond to help me.
Based on my personal experience I'd say buy with confidence!
