First service for-my new Chery Tingo 7 at John Hughes

I took my new Chery Tingo 7 in for its first service and the customer service was outstanding. The welcoming from 2 ladies at reception and the English young lady who took my details were so professional, friendly and fabulous. The lounge area was really well decked out. I felt like I was in the Qantas lounge. Great coffee machine and bottled water and so many magazines to choose from. Congratulations John Hughes!

Bitter truth about quality cars!!!

I recently bought a vehicle from John Hughes and the experience has been extremely disappointing. A third‑party pre‑purchase inspection clearly identified rodent activity in the engine bay, including debris under the battery cover. I raised this before purchase and was assured it would be properly cleaned and inspected.

It wasn’t.

When I collected the vehicle, the engine bay still showed obvious signs of rodent activity, proving the promised inspection never happened. This is a basic safety issue — rodent damage can affect wiring, sensors, and electrical systems — and should have been taken seriously.

Instead, I received excuses from a senior salesperson, including:

“We weren’t known to lift that cover.”
“If your mechanic had told us to lift the cover, we would’ve cleaned it.”
“If the car starts first time, there’s no reason to check the battery. As far as us checking a vehicle for its quality, if a vehicle starts first time every time there is no reason to engage extra time checking a battery that is not faulting.”

“So there was no cause or reason for any mechanical inspection our workshop did to lift that case open"

This is unacceptable from a licensed dealer. Once notified of rodent activity in the engine bay, it is the dealership’s responsibility to inspect the affected area properly — not wait for a customer to instruct them on how to do their job.
There is prima facie evidence that vehicles are being sold with undisclosed defects, making it the customer’s problem instead of the dealer’s responsibility.

I did receive a generic apology after escalating the issue, but the fact remains: the vehicle was delivered without the promised inspection, despite a known safety concern.

I am now waiting for a proper third‑party assessment to determine whether any wiring or components have been damaged. This entire situation has seriously undermined my confidence in the dealership’s quality control and pre‑delivery standards.

Nothing but class from John Jughes

After a terrible experience with another dealership, dealing with John Hughes has been a breath of fresh air.

Tam was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process of helping me get into a new vehicle. He was professional, honest, understanding and genuinely cared about helping after the stress I had gone through being sold a lemon elsewhere.

The level of customer service, communication and support I received from Tam and the team was outstanding from start to finish. Nothing felt too hard, and I was treated with respect the entire way through.

Highly recommend asking for Tam if you are looking for a vehicle. Thank you again for making the process smooth and restoring some faith in the car industry.

BUYER BEWARE

Just bought a Hilux SR5 paid $60000. Traded in my 2019 Subaru Forster, great condition, first thing they asked is there 2 x sets of keys? and does it have full-service history/ logbooks? yes, to both.
One of the first questions I asked does the Hilux have 2 x sets of keys, Salesperson Sayed said yes, everybody so friendly, Sales manager Stephen McCourt even dropped in to see if everything was good and if there was anything he could do to help the deal. WOWO what a guy!
Paid for the car, on picking up was given one set of keys asked where's the other isn't there 2 sets? was told no sorry only one! Not much I could do about it so just let it be. Drove home and wanting to learn more about my car opened my glovebox and found NO service manual / Logbooks or No user manuals. Now I didn't ask but was expecting a 5-year-old car with only 48000km on the clock would come with a full-service history! Contacted salesperson Sayed straight away and was informed that "he couldn't find the logbooks/ service records" but would organize some manuals for me, so I had some clue how to use some of the features on my new car. Then heard nothing so contacted used Car manager Stephen McCourt explained the situation and guess what heard NOTHING! Then lodged an official complaint on the company website and heard NOTHING. So paid $60000 for a car with no service history [ mysteriously lost] starting to think the very low KM's on the car might not be genuine! Also, for a car that I have to now try and source a user manual for at my own expense! poor effort all-round. This is the 4th car we have purchased form John Hughes and, in the past, always great service but that seems to have all gone by the wayside, will be our last we purchase that's for sure

Saffron is an amazing person. She has helped me to book an appointment for a service. Given her task is not complicated, she is polite and lovely person to talk to.

If you enjoy waiting forever, this is your place!

I had my Mitsubishi inspected almost two months ago and was told my aircon unit needed to be replaced. “It’ll take two weeks,” they said. Well, here we are, eight weeks later, and I’m still waiting for that magical new unit to appear.
The person in charge of my car seems to have mastered the art of ignoring customers. Calls? Ignored. Messages? Vanished into thin air.
Funny how quickly they find you when it’s time to pay for a service, but when it’s time to fix something under warranty, suddenly everyone disappears.
So if you enjoy chasing people for updates, being ghosted by service staff, and testing your patience to new limits, John Hughes is the perfect place for you. Otherwise, run while you can.

Vehicle returned with glaring fault

Following a service on my Kia Sportage, it was returned to me with the wing mirrors no longer operative. They were working when the vehicle was taken for servicing. Shows that they do not do a thorough check of the vehicle. Having brought this to their attention I was advised that they needed the vehicle for several hours. This entailed a 50 minute drive in either direction for me. I advised that I would require a loan car as the issue was of their making and I have commitments to fulfill that require me to have transport. I was advised late November would be the earliest I could get one. The total lack of care or concern for the problem totally of their making - other than a cursory 'sorry' - show a total disrespect for their customers and unwillingness to go out of their way to correct it. Avoid John Hughes like they are diseased - utterly hopeless. I am now taking my vehicle to Midland Kia where the service appears to be better.

MG Essence ZST John Hughes Vic Park, WA

After doing my homework reading online reviews and comments, and focusing on three car models, I arrived last week at John Hughes MG in Vic Park with an interest in purchasing a new car. My appointment was with Han Gao. Unfortunately Han was kept busy with a previous appointment, but from my initial conversations with him I was impressed by his efficient and professional manner. My visit proceeded with Dylan Cassidy and Chad Mckie. I immediately felt at ease with these two gentlemen, who both proved to be extremely knowledgeable about the car models I looked at, as well as listening to my opinions and offering helpful advice and insights. I really appreciated Dylan's patient and "down-to-earth" manner, which made the purchase details transparent and easy to understand. A test drive with Chad gave me the opportunity to experience how comfortable and pleasant the car is on the road. Chad is an intelligent, well spoken young man and I wish him the best for his career. I reckon his calm efficiency and friendly manner make him an asset to the company. My bank let me down, causing a frustrating delay in being able to make the car payment. The John Hughes staff (Chad, Geoffrey and Kimberly) were helpful, courteous and professional in assisting me with resolving the bank issue. Once the payment was sorted, I was delighted to drive away in what I consider to be a very comfortable, well appointed and enjoyable to drive MG car. My experience with John Hughes Vic Park was very positive, and I certainly recommend them for your next purchase.

New Car with only 3 months rego! John Hughes doesn't want to know about it

Purchased a new car from John Hughes in Wanneroo. The car had less than 100km on the clock and I also paid $8k over retail (my choice) to avoid having to wait 2+ years if I ordered one. The shock and disappointment was that the car only came with 3 months registration! I called several times and the staff that I spoke with agreed that that shouldn't have happened and apologised immensely and said that they will get the business manager to call ASAP to fix. After calling 3 times to chase said Business Manager.... nothing. They got their money and ticked the box. Highly disappointed in the John Hughes Group and have lost any trust with the brand. I would seek other dealers to purchase from.

I had a very disappointing experience…

I had a very disappointing experience after purchasing a vehicle from the Rockingham Branch of this garage. Just four weeks after purchase, the car suffered a major mechanical failure—a broken turbo. From there, things only got worse.
It took 15 weeks for the garage and Ford to complete the repair. That’s nearly four months without my car I had just bought, with very little communication or urgency shown throughout the process.
To make matters worse, I was offered no refund and only an option to exchange the vehicle—at a value of $3000 less than what I originally paid. This felt unfair and added insult to an already frustrating situation.
I expected far better after-sales service and support. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with no confidence in the dealership or their commitment to customer satisfaction. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before buying from here.

Bought our second MG from John Hughes

Bought our second MG from John Hughes. We dealt with a very top salesman Dean Cox for the second time. Fantastic person and put time into our purchase. Went thru all the bits on the screen which was a great help for two oldies in their 70s. It was great to receive the floor mats as well… we are extremely happy with the car and the way it handles. Very special thanks to Dean and his non pushy attitude.

Booked my Jetta in due to an engine…

Booked my Jetta in due to an engine light fault, $2600 later and 30km of my 121km return trip home, engine light back on. Rang the service manager... no answer. Following day was able to get in contact with the service manager and get the car booked in again with the promise of waving the computer fault charge $198. Unable to make the first appointment due to a funeral, second appointment the service manager rang the wrong number and got me, confirmed the appointment though complained of having a very bad day. Unfortunately, due to ill health on the morning of the appointment I had to cancel to due to ill health. Service manager now not answering my calls or responding to sms. Unable to get a booking to check what the new issue is. Rang the service centre, put on hold 40 minutes then asked if I would like a call back without losing my place in the cue, I took the call back option. 2 weeks later, still waiting for the service centre call back. Unable to get my car booked into John Hughes VW Service Centre Vic Park... Why?

One is too good a review for John Hughes

One is too good a review for this dealership!!!!!!!!!
I was lucky enough to realise I was being duped when I was offered $6,000 for my Mercedes GLA built in 2016 with low kilo for its age. I was told my sunroof was broken 😞 it wasn’t… ……..
I then went to Volkswagen in Osborne Park
and received $20,500 for my car. If you are buying a VW then go to this dealership for honest and professional help not John Hughes
John Hughes tried to dupe me of $14,500
and he STILL ADVERTISES he OFFERS the BEST PRICE for your car !!!!!!!!!!!
Isn’t This FALSE ADVERTISING ?????
