Very bad quality soles torn after 2 months only.. boots Anna. Don t buy them!

Bought a pair of Westland boots last winter, which were so comfortable for the couple of months I wore them. When I got them out again this winter, the uppers are detaching from the soles and the water poured in. As others have said, Josef Seibel referred me to the retailer John Lewis who wouldn’t do anything. I liked the boots so much last winter that I bought a pair of JS leather trainers and the soles wore out within a few weeks. I’ve never known other footwear wear out like this. Shocking quality for the price.

Rubbish shoes and rubbish service. What a disappointment! I saw these Tucson/Combi shoes in John Lewis, Oxford. They were pricey but fortunately a friend sent me a Christmas gift voucher and I could buy them. Within 3 wears, the layered heel leather started to come off in strips. I'm not exactly running marathons in them - just walking round a park with the dog. I contacted Seibel who just told me to go to John Lewis. John Lewis would not help because I no longer had the receipt. Of course not - I had found them comfortable and expected to wear them for a long time. Seibel not interested! Either J Lewis or Seibel could, at the very least, have offered a repair.

very disappointing.. as i had bought two pairs of their hiking boots...hand made with comfy ankle support and good non-slip soles. well the first pair at least.

but BEWARE!... the second pair i bought 4 years apart....the new ones had horrible vinyl soles that did not flex to the foot...but worse still they were so dangerously slippery (i slid over!) that i had to have the brand new boot, resoled!!
i tried to give feeback to Josef Seibel company in Germany but they never responded.
i only ever heard back (via my local Blackheath shoe store) from the Australian Josef Seibel company who had responded with the usual "fobbing off" reply e.g. "not responsible...as they had received no other complaints".
not happy jan....
obviously their hand made boots are now being fobbed off to China to add a cheaper sole-product.
shame Seibel shame!!

Bought a pair of sandals on vacation in Vancouver. Came home to Ontario and after wearing the sandals 3 times both straps have ripped. Have owned them not more than 2 weeks.
Followup to the original post: Despite the shoes being faulty, thank you goes out to the Canadian distributor of Josef Seibel (Mark) and the vendor Red Sky in BC for reviewing the issue and providing me with a full refund. Based on the good the service, I have updated my review.

Have bought Seibel shoes for indoor wear for many years. Had a problem after two years wear with last pair and returned for company's information. Not because I expected a refund; they had given good service. Seibel gave a full refund promptly and contacted me by phone. Exemplary customer service.

Very poor quality. Bought 2 pair of summer shoes in 2023. The insides of the soles at the back have split. This is after very light use.
No longer have receipts. Cannot recommend and they do not deserve 1 star.

I bought two pair of ankle boots when I was in Germany. Beautiful and expensive. One black, one brown, same style. And yes. I was shocked when I chose to wear my black ones, took them out of my shoe holder and the soles peeled away in chunks. These were only worn twice. I tried reaching out to the store in Munich. No help. So, I tossed my black ones. Tomorrow, I travel to the northeast, started packing today. I went to my brown pair and the soles came off in chunks. The tread attaching them to the boot is still intact, just the sole tore away from the boot. They were worn at best twice. A couple of years ago, I moved to Florida from Park City snow country and have not had a chance to were them until I travel for tradeshows. Finally, I looked for reviews. I thought I must have done something very wrong. Then I came across this site. Whew, Now I see I am not the only one!

Had my Josef Seibels a few years and hardly wore them - super comfortable. Took them out to wear to Easter service, walking into church they completely fell apart (I mean completely). I had to walk barefoot out of the church and drive home to put on a different pair of shoes. Didn't expect this from a pair of shoes that cost more than $100. My Franco Sartos last forever.

I recently bought a pair of Josef Seibel black leather lace up ankle boots, size 39. This is the third pair of (I thought) identical shoes I’ve bought from Josef Seibel over the last few years. I was delighted with the comfort and quality of the two previous pairs but these new ones are a disaster: they are hard and much narrower and have given me painful blisters. What has happened? I’m very disappointed and won’t be buying their shoes again.

Sole cracked on both Conny 52 boots within less than 3 months of moderate wear. They now leak. Terrible, terrible quality. Don't buy

The loop on the back of my Palomino boots broke after 2 or 3 wearings. After ignoring 1st email, was told to return for refund. Asked if I could have replacements, was told I would have to reorder. Boots now out of stock. Several emails later, still no flexibility or a single word of apology. Appalling customer service.

Wish I had read the reviews here before purchasing shoes - seems like sole splitting after less than a year of irregular use is a v common issue! Do not buy - what a waste of money and shocking that they charge people so much for such poor quality.

My brand new Seibel boots have such bad soles, not a crack to see but when I simply walk over rainy wet street the water my socks are already wet underneath right from the first time I wore them! I don’t understand how the water comes through the soles?! So bad quality and no refund and yes rather expensive!

Over a few decades, I have bought many shoes of this brand and was very satisfied but alarmingly there quality seems to have considerably diminished as the last pair I bought was not to their normal quality standards. I took the time to contact them and all they did was to refer me back to the shop or give me a voucher for buying another pair at a small discount from their online store. All I wanted was for them to get their quality control back to the standard we expect and to get the defaults on my shoe fixed. Their answer was simply « go to a shoe repair shop ».

Purchased Wynnie biker boots last winter, wore them throughout the winter. Just started to wear them again and noticed they let in water through cracks and holes in the sole. Very poor quality for expensive boots. I've had cheaper boots in the past that have not leaked.
Reading other reviews it seems to be a common problem, I would not recommend and certainly wouldn't purchase again. If I could give less than one star I would!

Men’s casual slip ons leak through stitching, Seibel response was very disappointing and offered no solution or refund, would not buy this brand again,what’s the point of having leather shoes that leak.Manufacturer should clearly state that the shoes leak through the sole stitching.

I used to buy Josef Seibel shoes because of the comfortable fit and decent quality but stopped buying them after the soles on the last pair I bought broke right across the front part of the sole on both shoes shortly after I started wearing them. None of the numerous previous pairs did this. As the store I purchased them from had closed, I contacted J.Seibel by email and phone about this numerous times but my request for a return call or email was never honoured. Since then I have steered clear of this brand. Very, very poor customer service and increasingly poor quality.
