I spoke with a very pleasant young man about my purchase. As you explained to him, this was just a one off purchase, something I just fancied owning. I was lovely about it. I felt a bit sorry that I couldn't afford to buy any other coins as I explained I'm a pensioner so as we oldies have been hit quite hard by a so called socialist government (who aren't really being fair to so many people) I haven't got a lot of dosh to spare!!!

Not amused
The item I ordered was to say the least underwhelming. It arrives in an envelope not the greatest protection for the item, if I had not been awaiting my delivery it could well have gone straight into the recycling bin. Opened the envelope and the coin fell out as the case had opened in transit. The enclosed letter said look at our latest offers on the enclosed cards, no cards nothing reference to letter. So you have the ball in your court, perhaps you could reassess the situation and make some changes. I know you try to keep p&p charges low but my p&p charges did not reflect a fare price service. Pay for a 1st class service get a 4th class service at best.

The coin commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day is struck from one gram of solid 9-carat gold and finished to the highest proof standard. Based on today’s gold spot price, the intrinsic value of the gold content is approximately £28.43.
However, unlike standard bullion coins, this commemorative piece also includes additional features which contribute to its value. These include the intricate proof-quality finish, selective colour plating, and presentation in a branded display wallet with a Certificate of Authenticity. All of these elements involve expert craftsmanship and specialist production processes.
The price you paid was £29 plus P&P, which we believe represents very strong value given the specifications and limited nature of the coin. We were therefore surprised to read your comment describing the coin as “very expensive” and wondered if perhaps it may have been mistaken for a standard bullion product, which this is not.
