There were also concerns about sizing inconsistencies and a perceived decline in overall quality compared to previous purchases from the brand. Some people were dissatisfied with the pricing, mentioning instances where products arrived with lower price tags than what they paid, or felt that the quality did not justify the cost. Bought a new pair of Karimoor walking shoes from sports direct and used them first time today and slipping in the rain.
Sports direct said don’t talk to us and contact the manufacturer and they don’t want to know either. Poor service from both.

The Boot That Must Not Be Mentioned - Literally

I had the Karrimor Orkney boots from 2009 to 2023 and they were great - no complaints. I wouldn't normally buy walking boots online, but as I was in the market for the exact same pair, I didn't think there would be any issues. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the name of the boots (if I ever knew it) and seeing a pair online which seemed identical, confidently ordered what I thought was the exact same brown leather model - thrilled that it was a cheaper price than in 2009. I should have known it was too good to be true. On arrival, the Mendip 3 boots I'd ordered looked far less robust, with the big glaring difference being that instead of having the stamped-metal "Gore-Tex" sign on them, as my old ones did, there was a tiny (almost apologetic) "Weathertite" fabric label sewn into one of the seams instead. On double-checking the photos on the very famous website starting with A, where I'd bought them, I saw that none of the photos clearly showed this, or I would have noticed and not gone ahead - sneaky! On trying them on, while the fit was as expected, the comfort definitely wasn't. The stiff ankle area was brutal, even on a stroll around the sitting room. Instead of the soft leather of the Orkney, there was rough pot-scourer type fabric. Surely a hike would see my ankles rubbed raw? A well-fitting quality boot shouldn't need breaking in (my 2009 Orkneys didn't) - they should feel good from Day One. Full of doubt about this mistaken purchase, I decided to access Karrimor's website to try and compare specifications between the Orkney and Mendip 3 to see if I was getting anywhere near what I'd expected in terms of quality. No mention of "Mendip" when I did a search ... weird! And while looking I noticed that the Orkney now has a "Weathertite" badge on it in place of the Gore-Tex one ... so it seems that even those have been downgraded since my first purchase. Oh, and the price was £90 MORE than my 2009 purchase! I tried using the contact form, but it required an order number as part of the criteria for sending a query and I obviously hadn't bought from their online store as the Mendip 3 boot was nowhere to be seen. I went to their Facebook page and did a search ... again, no mention of "Mendip". Curiouser and curiouser ... it was as if they'd disowned this cheaper part of their range out of shame! I sent a polite message through Facebook but it's been two working days, now, and I can see that my message hasn't even been read, let alone responded to. A quick glance showed the page itself is full of Karrimor-generated marketing guff, interspersed with angry customers venting their comments on a number of product complaints, which are ignored. Not a great look. I guess I'll be sending the boots back, then (probably at my own cost, as it was my error) ... but, after seeing some of the reviews here, I'll count myself lucky not to have persevered with these "mystery" boots. What kind of a company doesn't even advertise and provide specs for their own items ... and makes it impossible to send a query? Avoid - I will be from now on. What a shame.

Shocking customer service

Can you leave a review less then 1 star??

Bought a pair of walking boots from Sports Direct, within weeks they're falling to bits and the customer service doesn't want to know. They keep refering me to Sports Direct. But ofcourse I haven't kept the receipt so they won't be able to help.

Just shocking that the brand itself isn't interested in the quality of their products and customers.

Poor Quality. Not waterproof and slippy

Had Karrimor mid walking boots less than 3 weeks. Water getting in through upper. Also, poor traction on soles - very slippery on wet surfaces e.g. tarmac/concrete path. Nearly fell a couple of times! Returned to store and got a refund. Will not be buying again.

Hot Rock walking shoes

Hot Rock walking shoes. I got fed up paying daft money for Merrell/Salomon who have clearly forgotten how to make footwear last, so thought I'd buy cheap and cheerful and not worry about longevity. So far I've had them 6 months, and have to say they are brilliant. Very comfortable and still completely waterproof - early days, but look very well made. My last pair of Merrell shoes had fallen apart by now and my wife's boots we're leaking from the second walk.

Boots fallen to bits.

I Had a pair of walking boots last Christmas which I have only worn a few times on Tuesday the 12th September 23 It was a bit wet out and I put on my Karrimor boots it was a bit muddy as well in Matlock after a couple of hours both soles detached at the same time what a load of rubbish these are. People save your money keep away from this brand I have got some cat boots from 1995 and some military magnums from 2000 and these are better boots and are still in excellent condition. Very Disgusted and disappointed I shall not be purchasing another pair af shoes or boots with Karrimor on it.

Bought some karrimor training from…

Bought some karrimor training from Sports Direct... Sports Direct own karrimor after they bought the trade name after the real karrimor went bust in early 2000's. The sole started to peel away after 1 week. Not having kept the receipt I bought a second identical pair, kept the receipt so could return the 1st pair... The same has happened within 2 weeks to the 2nd pair. These are sports Directs budget range sold at premium prices. I'll avoid from now on

Bought for the kids and me. Varying price range from £25-£60. Absolute rubbish. Don't last two minutes before they start coming apart at the seams. The waterproof label should be removed by Trading Standards. Absolute junk. Shoe scam

Wet feet

Having worn Karrimor boots in snow and ice I bought Hot Rock shoes expecting dry feet again. Just walking on dewy grass leaves wet soggy shoes and socks. I dread to imagine what they are like in heavy rain. As I bought in summer the 28 day return time was over before I discovered how poor they are. Definitely avoid if you want dry feet

Bought a pair of karrimor mount mens walking boots. Stated they are waterproof and within 15minutes of walking through a grass field my feet were soaked! Not fit for purpose at all! Also one of the lace eye rivets popped out from the boot after the first time wearing them. Rubbish quality save your money don't buy this junk!

bunged up whistle

I bought a whistle a couple of years ago to put into my emergency bag. I only recently tried it out to discover that it had been bunged up with some sort of plasticy waxy material - obviously for packaging/hygiene purposes. It is the wrong material altogether to put into a whistle. I cannot get it out - I have wasted a couple of hours trying to get this stuff out and as a result it got pushed up the whistle, which is rendered absolutely useless. This is the most cretinous product feature that I have ever come across in my life. If I had needed this whistle in an actual emergency I would have been stuffed.

I had brought a hiking trainers , I have used them about 10 times in light conditions, both sides have split on cosmic areas on both left and right both sole are un sticking in various places, I still have hiking boots from 10 years ago that have out lasted the ones I have now and have been through alot more, they refuse to sort it as I brought them through a catalogue although the catalogue see it as a fault of the product, your company is so low quality it's disgusting, I will never buy from this company again, your are budget quality at not bugdet price.

Karrimor Helix -disappointment

After many years of really hard use, my Karrimor Helix walking boots finally disintegrated. Although I had reservations about the declining quality of Karrimor products, I'd been so pleased with these boots that I bought another pair.

Less than 10 months later - and with much lighter use - the replacements are falling apart. The stitching that attaches the eyestay to the uppers has failed. Very disappointing.

Karrimor Waterproof Shoes.

These walking shoes (waterproof, not) cracked between sole and upper at the front, both sides.
They are lightly used and the soles practically unworn, but waterproofing is non existent because of the splits along both. So much for a waterproof membrane.
They are rubbish.
