Account terminated without reason or…

Account terminated without reason or response

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT CREATE AN. ACCOUNT WITH KDP. USE A DIFFERENT PROVIDER FROM THE START.

I am so disappointed with Amazon KDP. I used to love Amazon products, I have all of their reading related subscriptions, but their lack of concern for writers, and horribly ineffective platform, has made me see them in a whole new light.

I've been working months to get my first book ready to publish. Once I got to the phase in my timeline to setup my KDP account, everything went off without a hitch and I received confirmation almost immediately that my account had been verified. I didn't do anything on the platform, and not even 24 hours later, I received a notification that my account had been terminated due to inconsistent or incorrect information, and I have no recourse. I'm not allowed to open another account, or publish on their platform, and no further explanation was offered.

Everything I provided was correct, I even went as far as to send supporting documents for all of my information, but they just ignore you.

I have sent countless emails over the past. 2 months, both through the provided email address and the online contact form, and I have not received a single response after the day of termination.

They have no care that their platform, lack of customer service and lack of due diligence ruins people's dreams and all the work they put in.

They know they're the biggest provider, and can do whatever they want, regardless of how it affects their loyal consumers, and writers, so why even try.

Extremely disappointed in KDP, if you are considering using their platform, don't. Go with an alternative from the start, that way you can atleast still publish on their platform without dealing with this. Unfortunately, I didn't go this route, so I don't have that same opportunity.

Amazon verse God. And response.…

This is a email sent on numerous times to Amazon KDP. Their response NONE! It would be easier to get a reply and resolution from God than Amazon. I have tried unsuccessfully to contact Amazon KDP and the associated sites to solve my/your problem in receiving proof copies of my novel. In my last 5 novels, I have no issues. I have my next novel ready for publication, but if this a problem that will recur, I will need to rethink my options. It is suggested I write an adverse review to warn other authors who are considering using KDP. I want this problem sorted.
regards,
Les Ibbotson.

Why don’t authors take legal action…

Why don’t authors take legal action against Amazon if their books are blocked illegally and all their earnings are taken? Why do most authors treat this as a simple matter? If they believe they are right, then why don’t they file a case against Amazon?

Secondly, the KDP community is not helpful to one another. In today’s world, almost every community supports and helps each other—but the Amazon KDP community does not helpful to one another.
If Amazon illegally steals revenue, why don’t authors take legal action? Why doesn’t any publisher or YouTuber highlight this issue? Most YouTubers only motivate new publishers to sell their own courses, instead of informing them about real risks or guiding them to proper support or agents. It is truly sorrowful that when a publisher is terminated, all their revenue is taken. This is nothing but corruption. If this is happening unfairly, why doesn’t any publisher file a case against it?

I self-published on KDP back in 2012

I self-published on KDP back in 2012. I published 7 books, 4 were humor focused poems and comics. Around 2018ish I gave up on writing for awhile and kind of forgot about the site.

Then at 1 AM Christmas Eve of 2025 I received the dreaded "We are terminating your account effective immediately because we have found activities in your account trying to manipulate our services."

I am currently in an AI Bot loop where they refuse to get into details. It looks like this happens to a lot of Indie Authors as anything can create this issue: from a bot going into your book to some rando trying to steal the copyright for some random word used in the title of your book.

Termination of account for no reason

I have a written a couple of books with full dedication and professionalism of 8 years. I wanted to publish them through kdp. Therefore I signed up for an account. Entered my details. Uploaded identification document. Linked my bank account. Updated tax profile. And then after two days without any reason they deleted my account. I replied to their email to give me a reason but they did not give me the reason either and sent another email "we uphold our decision for terminating your account" without letting me know any reason. It seems that the whole company has been hijacked by Ai or some non serious, non professional employees.

i came to trustpilot to write a review here but to my surprise kdp has 1.5 satisfaction of its customers. Now i thank the employees of kdp to save me from wasting my resources and time to publish my book through them. I am glad they did not terminate my account without reason, after generating revenue from my books.

Completely Unacceptable Print Quality – Not Fit for Purpose

I ordered professionally printed A4 children’s books and received A6-sized copies, inconsistent colours, random blank pages, and even the printer’s own branding inserted into my book without permission.

No two books look the same.
The colours are all different.
The layout is wrong.
And the batch is completely unsellable.

This has caused financial loss to my business and shows a shocking lack of quality control. A professional printing company should never release work in this condition. Extremely disappointed and cannot recommend.

Worst policy

If i could give minus star i would had give. If u do even a silly mistake they will terminate your account and will not give any chance no matter how much u fall in their knees. That day is not far when kdp will fall in knees to author to publish a book. Sudden termination without any warnings is worst policies of kdp.

2 ebooks published; days later unpublished?

I published two ebooks one in English and the other in French translation and they were published no problem on Amazon KDP. Then today I made some small changes on the description not on the manuscript and then they blocked the title saying by email they are not going to publish my books?

Could this be simply artificial intelligence replying and giving a general answer?

This is very disappointing and I guess I'll have to look for other alternatives to publish my ebooks?

This company is an absolute disgrace

This company is an absolute disgrace. After sales of more than 13,000 books and excellent reviews, a bot with a silly made-up name sent me an email to say that my account was terminated for imitating a previously published work (a translation of Baudelaire who died in 1867!). They stole £450 of unpaid royalties for the previous six weeks and destroyed years of my hard work. They ignored my emails and just sent automated replies, each signed by a different invented name. It stinks.

Update 17 March 2026: You couldn’t make it up. They just sent me an email to say that my tax document is available to view in my account! But I don’t have an account!! The incompetence is off the scale!

Absolutely useless service and help

Absolutely useless service and help. I am a writer and tried to recover access to my account around a year. But its impossible! I called them dozens times with 0 result. There are people with bad English which will help you not! They dont understand English nor Spanish. I was to pay publicity for my book to give it second life - but its absolutely impossible as the only think they saying with a bad accent is: you have to go to our website - which I did a hundred times.

After a promising start in publishing…

After a promising start in publishing my novel, KDP informed me I had sold several hundred copies. However, I have received no royalty payments. I have phoned many times, written over and over. I dealt with Rick Chettman who has now left the company and more recently with someone called Keith. I have no idea how many books have actually been sold as no-one will tell me and no money is forthcoming. They ignore my emails, have lied to me about sales and will not deal with me in a professional or honest way. Altogether their treatment of me has been abysmal - quick to take my money but no further input.

KDP terminated my account and stole my royalties

Amazon cancelled my account for vague reasons, refused to explain further and then confiscated my royalties. The entire system is run by AI, which randomly chooses accounts for termination purely to decrease outgoings and increase profit.

One of the worst experiences of my…

One of the worst experiences of my life. The KDP process destroys the joy and thrill of writing a book. Never in all my life have I experienced anything so complicated. In fact, I'd go as far as to say cruel. Designed by a sadist. The most customer-unfriendly process. I have no other choice, but I wouldn't use KDP in the future. If you value your sanity and well-being, avoid like the plague.
