Beware they are Frauds!

Just as with many others, they took my money and run.
Oh well! Live and Learn! At least I know now that I should not waste my time trying to contact them. It is sad that to see how these criminals can make away with that behavior and the Law seems not to be able to do anything.
I have done some tracking in Companies House. 4 directors in 2 years, previous company name stopped filing... Interesting....

Criminals

I am very sorry for all the genuine people who have been stressed and robbed.
Please contact the police, details below.
They are closing in on these people.

Like so many people we paid a large sum of money as a deposit for a resin drive.
As we all know these criminals have done a runner leaving us saddened and out of pocket.

I contacted the police and they are gathering evidence against the ring leaders for fraud.

The police at Pear Tree Office, Derby are asking everyone to contact them with as much information as possible to help strengthen their growing evidence.

Appear to be operating under a new name!

They now appear to be operations under the Grand Designs name, but using the existing sales record details. Offering to complete the work that a significant deposit has been paid for. I would advise DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Extremely disappointed

Extremely disappointed! Everything started off well. The team was friendly and they worked hard so no complaints there. My gripe is with the finish. Trowel marks in the resin which to be fair are not noticeable under normal daylight but get the sun low in the sky and they look awful. We have a curved drive where the resin meets stone. The original survey included blocking around the curve but I allowed myself to be talked into trim instead of blocks, they said it would bend around the curve but instead it is a series of fasseted lines. They put a short ramp behind the gate for ease of wheel bin movement, not very neat. They put a rumble strip of blocks at the entrance to drive but that doesn't look finished at one end. They made a really nice step which we were very pleased with but they were one block short so they put the wrong size and shade in, very unprofessional! Last but not least, the boss put his coffee cup on the window sill, the wind blew it on to the resin and stained it when it was still wet. Finally, didn't clean the gate area as they promised they would. I've been trying to get in contact but they don't answer the phone so we're still waiting for them to rectify problems.
Regretfully we would not recommend this firm without these issues being rectified!!!

Total disgrace

Fitted my driveway and patio last September. Within 2wks it was crumbling, sunk at the front of the property and is very uneven, was not levelled from one side to the other. Now have puddling in several areas, and flooding along one side. Trowel marks and lumps all over. Patio area very uneven, difficult to stand any furniture outside as it rocks. Step slopes back, and water comes in under patio door.
The company director and others agreed it was a mess, had been rushed, and it all needed replacing. Told this would be done February as they could not do anything over winter. Was then told May as they were busy. Company Director had been ignoring me since Christmas, and everyone else just said it would get done but would not give details. After saying I was going to report them, I was then told it would be done on the 1st of August.
Now I find they have closed down. Contacted Vuba who told me a new company is forming, and they are passing my details over for service manager to contact me. If I hear nothing from him they told me to call back to see what else they can do. I have also opened a case with citizens advice.
Like many of us I have spent a large chunk of my savings on getting my house up to a reasonable standard so I don’t have to worry about future problems as I am now retired. My worry is I am left with something I cannot afford to fix. Also the people starting the new company are still the people who laid it badly in the first place.
It is disgusting that companies can get away with this. They were paid in full, and because of my good nature, have taken advantage of me, and I cannot recover my money. They should be held to account, and put this right. Mrs D Hore Nottingham

Closed for business

Had a call today from a fitter advising the company had shut down. He said he and a colleague had been handed a pile of jobs to complete. No contact from Kerb Appeal and fitter said he has no contact details for them either. Fitter might be genuine but hard to trust anyone associated with this outfit at this point.

Scammer's

I'd paid a deposit of £2,605 for having the front bay Windows replaced this was paid on the 13/01/25 had the surveyor called then waiting for a guy to come round to do all the measurements, went to their office on Nottingham road empty, after enquirying their location as there office on pride park.
Called in the office seeing when the start date for replacing the front bay Windows, couldn't get an answer for a start date.
Having been reading all the reviews, I've come to the conclusion that this so called company is commiting fraud

We too lost a deposit

We too lost a deposit. The surveyor not turned up. No comms. Went a drive to Derby as we are local, showroom locked and Chadd office up for let. Absolute crooks. I hope their conscience haunts them for the pain and hardship they inflict. We have contacted police and Action Fraud who are monitoring the company. I strongly suggest everyone contacts Action Fraud and the police.

Zero star rating

Zero star rating , it’s a corrupt organisation, going into liquidation and then operating in a new name . Many people including myself have been conned for a deposit. Police should investigate these rob dogs .

Kerb Appeal Solutions ceased trading

I paid a deposit also for work to be done in June.Despite the reply back from Kerb Appeal that I have seen on other reviews, saying that existing contracts will be honoured,I received a call yesterday from the actual contractor saying if you still want the job doing then they will give you another quote, and not take any monies until the job is completed,BUT that you should now contact your bank to try and recover the deposit paid to Kerb Appeal. What a mess.Has anyone else had this same phone call?

I had my resin driveways laid August…

I had my resin driveways laid August 2024. The first crew arrived to remove some grass, small blocks laid as one driveway and concrete around the front of the house. Nice guys, but clumsy and snapped my internet cable. I was told as a storm was coming through the resin would not be laid until after the rain the following week. The next day the resin team arrived. I said I was told they would not lay the resin until after the rain. The C-rep said they would be finished before it rained. They did and then the heavens opened and drenched the driveway and puddles formed. I immediately emailed the company to alert them to the puddles. After the weekend A-rep called and said someone would come to check out the drive. A-rep came, looked and said the car must have caused the damage. I explained that the base under the resin had not been compacted enough and that if the resin had been laid after the rain they would have seen the problem. A-rep agreed to fix the drive with no extra cost to me as they had a 10 year warranty. I told him to wait until the weather improved. At the end of April 2025 I contacted A-rep who said he would give me a date for the resurfacing of the driveway. By the end of May I still hadn’t got a date. I sent a message on the number I had always contacted A-rep and got a message from B-rep saying he was not A-rep I tried sending another message which was undelivered. Today I got a call from B-rep saying the company has closed its door and owes him money. Well, after reading the previous reviews which were shocking I guess I was lucky enough to get some sort of driveway. I am so sorry for all those who lost money. Having read the KA’s reply’s I’m wondering, KA are you going to fix my driveway as promised?

Another who has fallen to this scam…

We have also been scammed by these people! Sales guy came round to the house, happily chatting about family, golf, etc! Took our £1500 deposit. Surveyor came round and gave us an additional option to think about and left us to discuss our decision. When he didn’t get back to me, I phoned him and he said the company have let him go and no longer need his services. We have no way of contacting the company (although have tracked down the sales guy on Facebook and he claims to know nothing about the scam and says the company hasn’t gone bust)! No idea how we can get our money back. These people will simply keep setting up businesses, scamming people and then moving on with their hard earned money!! Disgraceful and disgusting!

UPDATE

Since the reply below to my original review, we have been contacted by another fitter. However, they are simply offering to do the job, nothing about getting our deposit back or the deposit being honoured in the final payment. So no help whatsoever!! I appreciate these fitters may be out of pocket from this company too, so not their fault, but the company owner needs to be held responsible. We are going through our bank to try to claim back the deposit, then will be reporting it higher up for action to be taken on these people.

FURTHER UPDATE
Please contact your bank if you have fallen victim to this company. Ours looked into it and confirmed it was fraud and that our deposit was actually paid into a personal bank account, not a business one like we were made to believe. We managed to get back £1400 of our £1500 deposit paid.

The sales office has indeed unfortunately ceased trading. The phone lines have not been answered due to that and due to the fact that the operation staff is no longer employed.

However, the company has made arrangements to honour all contracts for which a deposit has been received. These contracts have been assigned to independent installation teams to ensure fulfilment.

Within the next seven days, all affected clients will be contacted by telephone to schedule an installation date, thereby ensuring that your deposit remains secure and the service is completed as agreed.

CAN WE GROUP TOGETHER TO INSTRUCT TRADING STANDARDS !!!

Hi Everyone. I sit here in shock that this Company has closed down with £22.5K deposits of my money for work that should have been carried out in April. I understand there are dozens of us out there. I am looking at reaching out to trading standards as The M.D has it appears down this before if you look on HMRC Eco home group ltd. Please please please do not book any work with them / DO NOT PART WITH YOUR MONEY !!!! I do believe we could also be also looking at the possibility of personal legal prosecution against the M.D. HOW CAN WE GROUP TOGETHER !!!! Any one got the time to work on this ???
DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PROMISE OF HONOURING THE DEPOSITS PAID . THE NEW COMPANY LEFT TO FULLFILL THE CONTRACTS RANG ON MONDAY 2ND JUNE , REFUSED TO GIVE ME A PHONE NUMBER AS WAS WITHHELD . TOLD ME THEY HAD NO DEPOSITS FROM KERB APPEAL SOLUTIONS ,SO ID NEED TO PAY IN FULL AS MINE WAS A LARGE DEPOSIT !!! BUT IF YOU ONLY PAID A SMALL DEPOSIT THEY ARE LITERALY GOING TO BODGE IT AND SCARPER, DOING THE QUICKEST CHEAPEST CORNERS CUT JOB TO GET THE BALANCES IN AND THEN THEY CAN SAY JOB WAS COMPLETE. THEY NEVER E-MAILED ME AS PROMISED AND IVE SEARCHED AND THEIR ADDRESS IS BOGUS . SO THE SCAM CONTINUES WITH THIS SECOND COMPANY .

This company have stolen a large deposit

This company, Kerb Appeal Solutions Ltd, have stolen a large deposit from my elderly neighbour. Pressured into providing money upfront, they have repeatedly delayed driveway and window replacement for 4 weeks, and now will not answer the phone to any number. Their shop is locked up, they've removed their contact phone number from their website, their Google maps result, Facebook page and Instagram account.

You can find out information using the official government website "Companies House". The company number is 14258178. Publicly visible information includes the name of the current director and that they ran another company called 'PHOENIX PROPERTY SERVICES MIDLANDS LTD' for 2 years which was dissolved.

For others reading, you have a right to cancel your contract. On the Citizens Advice website look for "Cancelling building or decorating work". It's possible to get a letter template and I suggest mailing this via recorded mail to the officially registered address for the business, and get proof of postage. You can report the business as a rogue trader to the citizens advice consumer service via 0345 404 506 and also use their "Report a business to Trading Standards" form which is available on the website each weekend.

I cannot find evidence of the current director having setup a new business yet though would be curious to know how others have discovered this. You can track the official details via Companies House for him.
