I purchased a Kinetico water softener in November 2022. The unit ceased functioning after approximately 3.5 years under normal domestic use. Based on industry expectations and information provided during servicing, this appears significantly below a reasonable operational lifespan.

A service visit was arranged at a cost of £145. The intervention undertaken was limited and did not restore the unit to working condition.

I was then advised that replacement of a core component would cost in excess of £600 and would be supplied without any warranty. In parallel, I was encouraged to consider a full system replacement at £1,795, initially described as including a 10-year parts and labour warranty.

However, the subsequent written quotation reflected the same price point but only a 12-month warranty. No clear explanation was provided for this discrepancy.

From a consumer perspective, this raises concerns regarding product durability, the proportionality of service charges, the absence of warranty support on significant repairs, and the consistency of information provided at different stages of the process.

In the context of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, where goods are expected to be of satisfactory quality and reasonably durable, this experience falls short of expectations.

Overall, the situation gives the impression that repair options are not being meaningfully supported, with a preference toward full replacement at considerable cost. Greater transparency, consistency, and a more balanced after-sales approach would be expected.

Great installation by Thomas - professional, helpful, friendly and efficient - excellent!

Our service engineer, Jack, was very pleasant and likeable young man. He changed a lot of parts for us and even fitted a new loft tank valve. He explained what he was doing throughout and was all done, within 2 hours. He also turned up exactly on schedule and called me to let me know he was on his way. Excellent work.

I recently had a Kinetico water softener and drinking water system installed (I believe the Premier water softener and the K5 Pure drinking water system), and I couldn’t be happier with the service.

Two engineers came to carry out the installation, and they were absolutely excellent from start to finish. They were incredibly informative, taking the time to explain how everything works and answering all of my questions clearly. They were also very polite, respectful of my home, and left everything spotless once the job was completed.

The whole process felt very professional and well-organised. The installation itself was smooth and efficient, which really reflects the high standards Kinetico are known for. Their systems are designed to provide continuous soft water and clean, great-tasting drinking water straight from the tap, which is exactly what I wanted .

I truly cannot recommend Kinetico enough—fantastic service, brilliant team, and a company that clearly takes pride in what they do.

I got some issue when I first installed the water softener however tema has been helpful and quickly have it fixed.

Great after sales service by engineer Nathan and his Manager Alfie. They visited site clean and smartly dressed and were respectful of the clients property. They looked into the problem we had and have sorted out the issue with clear explanation of the problem, and carried out the correct alterations to enable the unit to operate correctly.

This is my second Kinetico Water Softener my last one I had for 10 years and I was very pleased with it. Joe and Alfie have been very helpful in the process of replacing my old one and they fitted my new one today. They have been great.

Excellent service and installation

I had a great experience with Reece from start to finish regarding my water softener. He was knowledgeable, honest, and took the time to clearly explain everything without any pressure.

He identified the issue with my existing system and recommended the right solution for my household. The installation itself was carried out to a very high standard – neat, tidy, and professional throughout.

Reece also went above and beyond, including not charging for the initial inspection and making sure everything was set up and working properly before leaving.

Overall, a smooth and stress-free experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
