6 months on & still no completed cabinets. Ruined function & value of my house. Ikea would be better.
Update 25/9/2025 - Wardrobes still incomplete an unuseable. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
Update 26/9/2025 - Installer team (Cab Pro Cabinets Pty Ltd) showed up today without all the parts & did about 50% of outstanding list. Kinsman hard to get hold of.
Said to my face they had not been provided all parts & told me they have this trouble all the time with Kinsman. They then failed to put all the screw cap covers on (missed 26 of them) despite having them with them & only did a few thinking I wouldn't check. I'm still missing functional parts include draw runners, draw fronts, headboard. I've chased Kinsman team to sort with the installer - Kinsman say they've provided everything (I don't believe them based on original failings to provide everything). I still haven't got finished wardrobes!
Original Issue in May 2025:
Treated myself to what I thought would be high end builtin wardrobes @ circa $25k & a further $7k for install, with extra sensor lighting, pull down rods etc. Massive $ investment in my home & I expected high quality product & service & so far = 6 month disaster.
PRODUCT QUALITY & ERRORS:
So far I've not been provided the product as drawn, specified & promised by Kinsman Wardrobes.
Wrong bulkheads & kickboards provided - they are to match the wardrobe panels & don't.
Wrong rod lengths provided. 6 out of 8 are the wrong length & I'm still waiting on the replacements.
Design not followed - bulkhead not in correct place & not correct finish, holes drilled in for handles where the shouldn't be. Now waiting for those all panels to be replaced & haven't got correct confirmation.
Left with pen marks on cupboards, handles not installed lined up.
No lights yet installed.
Offcuts left in my garage.
Walls are damaged and marked, ceiling & adjacent walls in one room damaged & promises of trades returning to finish the job.
New edges of plaster not finished.
I currently don't have a working wardrobe anywhere in my house.
MULTIPLE CONTRACTS & NO CO-ORDINATION
Be warned - you end up with @ least two separate contracts - one with Kinsman for supply (only) of the robes to agreed design & then separate contract with their recommended installer, & potentially a 3rd or 4th with the installers subbies for lighting, plastering etc.
YOU MUST PROJECT MANAGE:
Be prepared - you have to co-ordinate & project manage the install yourself.
KINSMAN DO NOT DO THIS. THE INSTALLER DOESN'T DO IT.
Kinsman recommend an installer but do not co-ordinate or supervise (they imply they do but they don't). I called several times to see if they could sort things with the installer but was always difficult.
I've had to chase the installer constantly for months on end for everything. Chase to come quote, send quote, get subbies to come & separately to quote, send quote, to confirm when coming, re when they are coming back & what is still to be done & chase confirmation of whether job will be finished or not on a given day.
I have felt repeatedly patronised & lied to when they've said it will be finish on X day & I came home & it wasn't, lied to when they say they have everything to finish & they show up & don't have it but keep promising it will be finished or certain works will be done on certain days & it simply doesn't happen.
The installer recommended by Kinsman has been inconsistent & prone to mistakes: never arrives on time, very polite & perpetually apologetic but actually doesn't get any better; has drilled holes where their shouldn't be; installed bulkheads that are clearly wrong & not as per design; damaged walls & not told me; not contacted me during install if he's not certain of something. All of which I would put up with if the job was actually done properly, well and as promised.
How can I believe the installer or Kinsman Group will fix this properly & ensure I get the end product I was promised by both?
At $30k + all up this is a terrible customer service experience. I regret not going to Ikea.
I assumed that because Kinsman were affiliated with The Good Guys (its on their website) & the TV show The Block that they would uphold the same principles of service as The Good Guys (who my entire family have bought all their appliance from and my mother bought her entire kitchen from them and was very well installed).
In past homes I've had top line Ikea wardobes, cupboards & shelves installed with all the trims & to be frank the product, finish & service is comparable. Ikea's partner installers have consistently done a better job @ showing up on time & not causing damage.
I have enormous regret regarding Kinsman & doubts re The Good Guys judgement. Stupid thing is I have more work to do on the house & they have lost repeat business.
Could not be happier with our kitchen - great job
From the start to finish our experience with Kinsman has been excellent. The showroom staff were very welcoming and helpful; the designer complied with our wishes and added some innovative ideas of her own. The installer was a first-class tradesman with great attention to detail. All of the other people who attended the installation were committed and friendly and always showed up when expected. Our kitchen looks amazing
Very satisfied
Quality workmanship, on time, good customer service. Very satisfied.
Shocking
There has been multiple delays, errors and problems. I have paid the full amount as required before beginning. After taking longer to pull out the old kitchen I was disappointed that when the cabinetry went in it did not account for the gas pipes. The drawings contained errors. There were site visits by different people so I can't understand how they got it so wrong. This led to push-on delays with marble benchtops, etc. When the new cabinets came in they contained other errors and were not installed. I am waiting to hear about the timeframe for new cabinets and full completion but my calls are no longer answered. In addition to this, the drawer latches were not placed in the middle of the drawer so the drawer frontages need to be replaced. The carpet around the kitchen was cut and they are looking for a piece to put in (which will be impossible without it looking terrible). I have not had a kitchen for a long time and using the bathroom sink to wash dishes. My lounge room is filled with appliances and rubbish and my walls have the drawings of the kitchen pasted. I am in an apartment so it is impossible to live this way.

Poor customer service with consistently added costs
If I could give a lower review I would. Beware of added costs and how the installation is performed. this company has absolutely no customer focus at all.
Should have done it years ago. From the minute we went into Kingsman…
From the minute we went into Kingsman show room at good guys Geelong, we met with a lady by the name of carol, spent two hours with us, showing us all different materials and colours and different fittings, incredible service. Then the designer came to our house, went through what we were after in design and style, He came up with a design that not only suited us better than what we were thinking, But suited our kitchen outlay. From there we were contacted by staff from Kingsman office,They took us through the process of ordering, And payments,Then Date of when Delivery would be. Then who was fitting the kitchen on a certain date. Every date we were given and time was spot on. Anthony the Fitter done incredible job. Very happy with out come and all staff from Kingsman. BE Aware
BE Aware. I was pressured to sign up the contract. We asked them change of mind we gona get the money back what we deposited. The reply was they will charge a very little money. But they are charging $800 to pull pot of a kitchen design and consultation. I wish I had read the reviews before signed the contract. Glad I didn’t go with them. Bad customer service when we call the head office. Rude.
Beware of Kinsman Kitchens
Beware of Kinsman Kitchens! Their installation process was not transparent. I had the measureup done and was informed that the installation cost was estimated at $1549.90 (a very specific number). The installer took a total of 10 hours to complete the install (I was told to allow three days) and charged me $2816 for labour! That equates to more than a $1600 day rate for one installer.
One hand doesn’t know what the other is doing
I went for a kitchen spent a Saturday afternoon designing a kitchen with their designer paid a deposit then after my builder starts knocking down walls, they say their compliance team won’t agree and refunds my money . Why would the in house design team notice know what complies generally or not . Go here if you have the need to waste your time
Dont bother using Kinsman Kitchens if your planning on renovating your kitchen
If you are planning on renovating your kitchen I would not recommend the Kinsman Kitchens. The sales team and kitchen designer were great until you received your draft plans and final check, measurements were incorrect leading to variations. Once plans locked in and kitchen cabinetry arrived, trades on site, there were quality issues, incorrect panels, not enough door hinges supplied, incorrect measurements for panels, customer service was non existent, everything was done via email and when you made a call, they were not there or you asked to talk to Manager, they wouldn’t escalate the matter. The process was exhausting, frustrating and not at all what I would expect from the Kinsman. Highly recommend going with your local kitchen/cabinetry supplier. Would not recommend the Kinsman and this is the second time I have used them and should have learnt my lesson the first time when they traded under the good guys!
Seamless process
The whole process was straight forward and easy. I had a wonderful consultant who understood my needs. Installation was a seamless process. There was consistent and excellent communication from beginning to end. I cannot recommend Kinnsman enough.
Highly recommended!!!
Very happy to purchase our new kitchen with them. Everything went smoothly and efficiently as programmed. Excellent service from start to finish!!!
Everyone has seen Kinsman on TV on The…
Everyone has seen Kinsman on TV on The Block. Unfortunately we got to experience the real off screen business. Please be aware of the following before proceeding. It’s all care and no responsibility. All their tradespeople are independent contractors to you and hence you have individual contracts with each of them. This includes electrician, plumber, plasterer, installer and benchtop provider. Moreover it is your responsibility to coordinate all trades. Linkstone was our benchtop supplier. They will not do any measuring or installation unless money is paid up front. Their tax invoices read like letters of demand. They also threaten to charge $300 plus gst if we delay any job due to late payment or late changes. They changed our installation date three times and our measuring date twice. What recourse do you have when you pay up front - none, despite days off work waiting with no explanation given when there is a no show. Please ensure what benchtop you pick is available and confirm installation date in writing and please please please do not pay up front. We had to call for updates constantly. Our kitchen has taken almost two months and counting. The independent trades were never specified at consultation stage and in font size 6 hidden in their contract. Be prepared for delays. Kinsman insist on using their portal for all communication. We have sent several unanswered messages. Why would they respond they have our money. We have left numerous messages to find a response was left in a portal. Summary- be very wary. Also note you will receive invoices from several different companies once you commence and then realise Kinsman just build cupboards and you are literally on your own. You are the Project Manager and trouble shooter.
Avoid
Avoid. I recently purchased a laundry from Kinsman Kitchens and was extremely disappointed with the installation process. A large, visible scratch was left on one of the panels. Instead of taking responsibility, Kinsman sent me a quote to replace the damaged panel. There has been zero accountability from Kinsman or their contractors. My advice: 1. Use another company. 2. If you must use Kinsman, check, check, and check again! Report any damage before the installers leave your home.
Happy with the purchase of kitchen
We’re very pleased with the purchase of the kitchen from Kinsman. Although we did some slight changes to the original design, it was the original design that made us go-ahead with the kitchen. It took us some time to finalise the plans after site measurement, mostly due to some changes and then not fully understanding the updated plan.
We were very impressed by the team installing the kitchen. They did a fantastic job, including the installation of the integrated dishwasher and rangehood. They also picked up on 2 small chips on a door and panel and came back to replace and finalise the job.
In summary, we’re very happy with the kitchen and inclusion of Avoca fluted door profile.

Our designer was lovely and great…
Our designer was lovely and great communication. Order process was easy. We used our own installer and he was very impressed with the quality and ease of install. Only issue we have had is after sales contact regarding warranty on a dishwasher door that has lifted.
I 100% recommend kinsman based on our experience with the overall quality and service pre purchase and at delivery even with the delayed responses after sale.
Highly Recommend
The entire experience of acquiring our new built in wardrobe though Kinsman was simple and easy. From the initial consultation through to installation our expectations were well managed and the quality of the workmanship assured. I highly recommend Kinsman for your cabinetry needs.
disappointed
The entire design process was torture. The designer spends an inordinate amount of time with you (4hrs of our family evening) then the pressure sale begins. They don't leave without a commitment, even calling the boss. Just like used car salesmen. Fancy committing to a design that they won't even leave with you to consider. Was cranky that we did not want to commit without having the design the review. Then the order process. Only messages and communication is via the Kinsman online portal - not convenient or personal. And they insist you organise the installer who did the check measure after ordering. The designer and installer are not Kinsman employees though. At no time did I see Kinsman people, although I did go to the 'showroom' to be disappointed by the lack of range, knowledge and no ability to even see the design or order we had.
Skip to install. Great installer. No problems, although using gap filler for the wardrobe edges is a bit amateurish. Turns out that the LED lighting we ordered was not as advised by the designer, so we have four transformers that put a bright red glow onto the ceiling of the bedroom. And 4 rather than one transformer for all 4 LED lights, as we were initially advised. Overkill, necessitating an ugly electrical fix. Turns out that Kinsman did not deliver one of the LED lights though. Or two of four drawer fronts. Or a desktop panel. No mention of this, just silence. Perhaps hoping we did not notice, or maybe they did not even know. The installer asked them to reorder and deliver the drawer fronts and LED lighting. But even he did not notice the missing desktop panel, so I advised Kinsman of that item on their online system. Crickets. For over a month now. With repeated messages. We don't know if they are ordering the panel or not.
Kinsman is simply a marketing brand with an online presence. They manufacture only. Design, delivery, installation is all by sub-contractors, which I could have done myself for less cost, and more certainty. Be careful with Kinsman. They are not accountable, they have no personal presence. And for over $20k worth of mostly MDF that even Bunnings or Ikea can do, I thought the cost would amount to service and standing behind their product. But the business model is built on volume, not quality or service.
The entire process was easy
The entire process was easy - from the interior design help, the online platform and how the trades just came in and stuck to a plan and timeline.
