Poor representation
Being passed from person to person, with seemingly little comms during handover and slopey shoulders from our apparent case managers left us with an extremely poor experience. We were recommended KMC through our estate agent, but have advised them to not recommend in future, after they also heard from others of recently bad experiences.

KMC have put me in financial strain
I was lied to by the estate agent about how long was left on the lease.
KMC Legal FAILED to notice and inform me of the discrepancy in information between the estate agents advice and the lease contract.
This meant that I only found the REAL lease length when I was reading the paperwork to sign the sale!
The impact this has had is insane.
I thought I would have 5 years longer than I do to Renew the lease; the stress and financial strain this puts me in is unfair, as the discrepancy should have been noticed by KMC very early on.
They fail at attention to detail and are not thorough enough for the importance of the documents they work with.
Would advise you look elsewhere

At first the service was amazing.
At first the service was amazing.
However after two weeks they still haven't responded to my solicitor’s requests. I would have expected better from a so called professional company

Well done Hayley
After a slow start with little communication other than via the KMC legal app I was allocated to Hayley Clarke. A telephone call made all the difference, feeling I was dealing with a person rather than a process. From then Hayley guided me and during the last week worked like a Trojan to meet the very tight exchange/completion date requested by my purchaser. Well done it was a pleasure working with you.
Highly recommended
Very happy with the service from Hayley Clarke and Sophie Ross from KMC Legal. They kept me updated throughout the purchase process and the app is a great tool for making everything easier
I will certainly be using KMC or future transactions
Absolute pleasure to work with!
As a first time buyer we were really unsure if we should go with Strike (how had the property listing) and someone local. Our mortgage advisor recommended KMC as they were local and it was really a god send help. The sellers had a really rough time dealing with Strike and we, on the other hand, had smooth sailing, all things considered. To our surprise, from the date of offer acceptance, the process moved really quickly, and had some of ours funds not being blocked in fixed length accounts, we would have our keys in less than 3 months, which was a genuine shock to us.
We dealt with a few solicitors however Irene was the one that helped us close the final few steps and lead us to completion. She was a pleasure to work with and despite of a few minor hiccups, our completion happened on the exact date she gave us months in advance. This really was helpful, as we were already under notice at our current rental apartment and if there was any delay, we would have been without a house.
Thanks for being patient with us with all the questions and delays from our side and still being able to close everything right on time!
Our experience was ultimately positive…
Our experience was ultimately positive due entirely to Hayley Clarke - after some considerable earlier issues in the process, Hayley took control of everything herself and worked hard and professionally to ensure that we completed on both sale and purchase
Overall good efficient service
Overall good efficient service.
Megan was the third solicitor to deal with the selling of the property, she was very good with email correspondence and answering any questions we had.
some of the service before that was a little disappointing.
Thank you Megan Young
High turn over of staff, processes are not thorough and slow or next to no communication
I had instructed and paid KMC Legal to complete on a flat in January 31st. I am still waiting to complete (July 4th 2024)
After multiple opportunities for this firm to communicate and rectify their mistakes within multiple given time frames, I have a second complaint at the KMC Legal in play. KMC Legal are withholding my money. Money that I paid 31st January and instructed them to pay the property’s service management company. I had notified them of this issue on the 20th February. We are way beyond the lease agreement and I still do not have peaceable enjoyment of the property as it reduces my service access down to GDPR.
KMC Legal are not thorough, slow to evidence their actions and have very poor communications with clients. The land registry name change was meant to be confirmed 28th March. Yet to know when this will be done.
My case has changed hands once and is on the cusp of changing hands again. There is a high turnover of staff and very poor communications throughout. Expect to be proactive and hyper-vigilant with this firm.
The firm handed in the SDLT form late and had filled it incorrectly. Despite the firm knowing I am a first time buyer I have ended up with a fine of £450 from HMRC.
The last change of hands resulted in items missed in instruction. This took a month to resolve. It resulted me actioning a solution after waiting and creating multiple opportunity for action from KMC Legal. I did get reimbursement eventually which required a further follow up also.
Update: 21 weeks from transaction, 15 weeks from highlighting the issues on my file, 11 weeks in from second complaint and yet to be resolved.

Great experience with KMC Legal.
Great experience with KMC Legal.
No complaints, Hayley was really helpful and always got back to my emails really quickly! As a first time buyer, I didn’t really understand the process but felt confident that I was in good hands. Would definitely recommend and would absolutely use again in the future.
I have bought many houses before
I have bought many houses before, and I regret to say that this is the worst firm I have ever used. I had 3 changes of solicitors, the conveyancing took 6 months to complete (with numerous phone calls that mostly unanswered), and worst of all they forgot to pay the stamp duty to the HMRC. I only realised it when I received the payment request from HMRC and had to pay it immediately to avoid penalty. Now I am still awaiting KMC to refund me the money that I paid them for stamp duty when the purchase completed!
Self employed and buying first house made easier with KMC Legal
Being self employed and buying my first house with my girlfriend was a daunting experience, but Ben and the team at KMC helped communicate everything simply and professionally while letting me know how things were going between all the other parties (mortgage advisor, mortgage provider, land registry, seller’s estate agent etc, and probably many more)
They kept me in the loop and everything went as smooth as possible when buying the property.
We moved in within the agreed timeframe and everything went smooth when collecting our keys.
I Instructed KMC Legal in relation to sale of my property
I Instructed KMC Legal in relation to the sale of my property. The team was also helpful and would always answer my queries promptly. I would use and recommend KMC Legal in the future.
Brilliant service from Ben and the team…
Brilliant service from Ben and the team at KMC Legal. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
As I was buying my first house on my own, I was worried about everything I'd have to sort as I had no idea what to expect or where to start! However, KMC went through everything with me, with great communication throughout and made everything simple!
Nothing was too much trouble for them and there was always someone to call throughout the entire process!
Now a happy homeowner and would definitely use KMC again and already recommended them to my brother who has also recently moved!
Thanks KMC!
Sean
***Highly Recommend!*** Thank you Jo Langton and KMC Legal
***Highly Recommend!***
My partner and I are first time buyers and buying in Cheltenham is not easy! We just completed with Jo Langton’s help. We were recommended to KMC Legal by Charles Cameron and we were extremely impressed. Jo Langton has honestly been terrific! Everytime we had a question or needed some reassurance on the process or the next step Jo was always available and quick to respond. The app available is also very handy. People say buying a house is stressful but we felt it relatively painless working with KMC Legal and Jo Langton. Big thank you from us.
Worse solicitor ever!!!
Worse solicitor ever!!!! Buying house is really stressful process, but if you solicitor don't communicate, is very slow, right hand don't know what do left hand, after it's is nightmare...
And last thing what you want after you moved in.
Letters every week from HMRC , your solicitor was deley registered stamp duty and you must pay penalty....
Hundred promised from Ben or his assistant how they call back and never happen.
Again hundreds phone calls to solicitor and promising how they already pay, but they never paid....
If you don't want extra stress AVOID THIS SOLICITOR!!!!!!!
Great
Great, everything went through fine and was kept in the loop, thanks Lisa and team. One less thing to worry about during stressful time!
Rachel Moore was fantastic
Rachel Moore was fantastic and her interaction with myself was very professional. The transaction took longer than I expected but I’ve no experience in buying a house before 😂. Rachel kept us fully updated and informed along the process via phone and email.
Excellent service
Excellent service. Would highly recommend. They have an app which updates whenever you reached a milestone in the process which is helpful to keep an eye on the progress of your sale/purchase. The communication was clear and concise.
