Arrived for a weekend in July to stay…
Arrived for a weekend in July to stay in chestnut spa. We started our breakfast about 9 ish. We both had problems trying to get the grill working. After trying for nearly 20 to 30 minutes I contacted reception as I was unable to find a manual to read to work the oven/grill. They sent some one up to have a look for us. They tried to get it going but it barely got warm. In the meantime it was now about 10.20 and still no breakfast we said we would just use pans for now. As this did not improve we were offered another lodge.
Lodge at the time was fine and working oven. We went out for a couple of ours and on returning from being out, time to relax did not happen as the neighbours were swearing loudly using varies amounts of bad language which went on for 3 hours and as they were getting drunker we decided to pack up to leave due to a drunken uncomfortable encounter which meant we felt uncomfortable using the hot tub. We ended up closing our door, waiting for them to calm down so we can go out and enjoy our hot tub.
Called to reception to hand in the key and when asked by the lady on reception if everything was OK I just started to explain and shaking as I was very emotional. I explained there was no way we were going to complain about them as we were worried about the repercussions. The lady was going to offer another cabin but we had already moved once. I mentioned to my husband in the car and he decided to see what can be offered.
Going back to reception we saw Chris. He went in to reception and came back out with an offer of another lodge. At least have a look which we did. I was so happy at what we were given if we wanted to stay. We agreed and I couldn’t help but hug Chris. He is an amazing member of staff. He went above and beyond to salvage what was left of our weekend break as we lost most of Saturday moving to 2 other cabins and packing and unpacking.

Just arrived back from Landal Park
Just arrived back from Landal Park, Matlock, Derbyshire.
I must say it was such a lovely break.
From we got to Reception to collect our keys to the Lodge, the Receptionist was lovely gave us directions how to get to our lodges, plus a free carton of milk.
Upon arriving at our lodge it was lovely inside, nice and clean, and had all the essentials ie plates, cutlery, glasses, very home from home for me.
The sauna & jacuzzi bath was lovely to relax.
The only thing that was missing was a ashtray. I understand that smoking is not allowed within the lodges, so I brought my own ashtray to sit on the table & chairs outside.
Went for a walk on our first day which was nice.
We ate at the Restaurant on site, I must say the roast chicken dinner was very nice, also the fish dinner. The price of the meal was reasonable.
I throughly enjoy our stay, and will definitely return again, next time I will stay at a lodge with the hot tub, but the lodge we stayed at was wonderful. Hope to see you again.

We will be going to BUDE COASTAL RESORT…
We will be going to BUDE COASTAL RESORT next year August 2024 as my Husband and I will be celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary , with our family of 11. so i wanted something really special. I spoke to a member of staff called JASON, who was very helpful. I Explained we wanted two lodges together so it will be a family get together to celebrate. Also JASON searched for restaurants for a Anniversary meal. What Excellent Service . Thankyou.

Great service even before arrival!
I haven’t actually visited the park yet so this review is regarding the customer service centre.
We will be visiting Rockingham Forest as an extended family group in two lodges to celebrate my Mum’s 76th birthday. The lodges have been booked separately by my brother and myself so I contacted guest services to see if it was possible to locate us close to each other. Gemma was extremely helpful and very quickly made contact with the Rockingham Forest team to discuss the matter and has now informed me that we’ve been allocated lodges 30 & 35, within the same cul-de-sac in the park. Perfect!
Gemma was also particularly helpful and has recommended a handful of places to eat so we can go out for a celebration meal when we visit.
Hopefully our stay will be as good as the guest service has been up to now!

Rockingham forest
I have just booked a week for next month and Jason Stevens who dealt with my emails was fantastic. I have a lot of Mental health issues and its very important to me to have all the information i can about where i will be staying and be able to plan routes around the park. Such a pleasure to deal with Gemma
I have been liaising with Gemma today in the call centre. We booked our break a couple of weeks ago and are due to arrive next week.
We had some quite specific requests regarding golf and our lodge number. Gemma has replied to my messages promptly and has gone above and beyond to try and fulfil our requests to ensure we have a lovely holiday.
Thank you Gemma; it’s the little things like this that keep customers loyal. I wish every company was this much of a pleasure to deal with.

Reviewing the contact centre team as we haven't actually had our holiday yet.
I spoke to Gemma today after having queries about my booking (adding on a highchair and which area of the park we were assigned to). She was so helpful and polite. She also pronounced my name correctly, which is firstly unusual, but also made the call feel more personal than "mrs xx" as my first name is hard to say. A minor thing to some, but a major deal to me.
We often in life miss opportunities for positive feedback and only act on negatives - I hope Gemma's team leader sees this!

I have a booking for 10 of us to celebrate a significant birthday for twins. I had lots of questions so sent a long email with lots of queries. I got a very swift and friendly response, with answers and advice. Super helpful and really good customer service - so huge thanks to Emily Marshall who was a superstar!

Lodge query
After recently looking at the details of the accommodation I will be in for a short break away, was unsure about the kitchen facilities. The photos of inside the lodge and description of what was inside was unclear.
I emailed to ask what cooking facility the lodge had and received an email back quite clearly stating clearly what was available. I was extremely happy with the response to my query off Gemma, both in time and detail.

Landal Woodland Lakes
I would have put zero for my review but I can’t. I booked a short mid week break in November and stayed in an Aspen Lodge. Truly wished I hadn’t used up 5 days holiday. I booked this particular lodge as on the website it states it was refurbished in 2021. What an absolute joke. The cabin was not fit for use at all. Sofa ripped to shreds, fire didn’t work properly, microwave balanced on kitchen roll, bathroom was mouldy. Sleeping was an absolute nightmare as the bed was basically like sleeping on springs! To top it all off we were kept awake until early hours by noisy contractors. Needless to say we cut our holiday short. Don’t waste your money.

Kielder lodge queries
My wife and I stayed in a lodge at Kielder last year and had a great time. I booked online again today, but then had a couple of queries. Jason in the Contact Centre responded to my email within 30mins, answered my queries well and gave much needed additional information. Excellent customer service I must say.
