My tutor explained everything I needed clearly and we did a lot of practice for exams

I had a great tutoring experience for English Lit SL IB with Iliana Filippopoulou from Lanterna. We prepared together for the IO and Paper 2. She planned lessons, provided useful resources, and was available outside of lesson time for questions and feedback on written responses. She was super helpful and nice!

Lanterna was a very straight forward program and it was practical to find a tutor. I have recieved Daniel Akintoye and worked with him on Math AA HL for a few months. Mr Akintoye not only showed me the topics I needed attention on, he provided IB style questions for those specific topics. This helped me master the small topics I have thought I would never understand. Mr Akintoye is also an examiner for Math AA HL. This was crucial for my prep for the exams as he showed me the mind of an examiner. I knew exactly how to structure my answers during the exam. I have completed various past papers for Math AA HL and Mr Akintoye and I went through almost all of them and graded them from an examiner perspective. I already had a strong foundation in Math AA HL with an average grade of 6. However my time with Mr Akintoye might have single handedly pushed my grade up to a 7.

Javeria has helped me majorly in navigating my way through the IB Diploma. She provided assistance and tips on writing my TOK Essay, which helped me achieve a very good result. Moreover, she significantly helped me feel confident ahead of the IB English Lang&Lit exams.

Really useful in finding tutors that are perfect in the subject needed, I had a bit of a worry when I could not find some adequate time to meet with my tutor due to the time difference. Different people teach differently so it’s important to have a wider range of tutors.

Didn't reply at my email after 2 weeks, 1 week before final exam, Some teachers are not that good for 100£ an hour, and didn't want to give me back expired hours that were already paided (10hours at 100£ an hour), honestly just learn by your self at this point. Just one teacher I had out of 3 was really good that why I gave a well deserved second star.

As a parent of three kids who were all tutored through Lanterna for their IB classes and exams over the past few years, I can say our experience was truly great. Our needs and expectations were carefully discussed, and we were matched with the perfect tutors.

My daughter switched to IB Economics eight weeks into her IB studies and began tutoring with Lanterna. In no time, she caught up with the material and even went beyond it, thanks to a wonderful, highly skilled, very responsive, kind and dedicated tutor, Patricia. Learning with Patricia has been a journey that my daughter enjoyed every second of.

Another great experience was with an IB Biology tutor, Fabian. He is highly skilled tutor - attentive, kind and able to explain concepts clearly.

I would definitely recommend tutoring with Patricia and Fabian!

The team is careful to listen to the students' needs and to suggest tutors accordingly. Contact and follow-up are done quickly.

We've had a fantastic experience. They have really listened to what we were looking for and matched us with tutors who suit our children perfectly. The tutors are not only highly knowledgeable but also great at connecting and explaining things clearly. It's made a huge difference.

The professionalism of the tutors and the very good customer service

Lanterna's website is easy to use and organised. The tutors on the site are extremely kind and provide well structured lesson in their subjects. Staff and Tutors are quick to respond to emails. It is quite expensive but I would defiantly recommend and I am grateful to be able to use their services :)

We constantly have great support from Isabel, our customer support. Also, the teachers are very dedicated. When one teacher was not available, Isabel managed to find a substitute within a few hours.

Lanterna’s tutoring quality can be excellent, but their coursework (IA/TOK/EE) support policy is disappointing. Tutors are instructed to charge two hours for a one hour tutoring session while only providing very general feedback, which doesn’t feel proportionate to the support actually received.
That said, my experience with my math tutor, Mr. Kembo, was genuinely great. The explanations were clear, focused, and extremely helpful for understanding difficult topics.
I also want to highlight how helpful the accounts manager, Isabel, was throughout the process. She was very responsive, often replying very quickly, and helped me a lot when I had issues with payment methods. Her support and professionalism were a big reason I felt comfortable committing to the service in the first place.
Because of the strong tutoring and support experience overall, I still have a positive impression of Lanterna.

The signing up process is pretty easy but we had the consultation beforehand which explained everything clearly. I like that you can change the tutor if the fit wasn’t good or cancel the lessons by the 2nd lesson. MY daughter has done IB Chemistry HL and Maths HL and both tutors have been really helpful.
Expensive - but worth it.

Our two sons started working with Abdul Mouiz for their Math HL class. They started in their junior year and increased the intensity throughout senior year and into IB preparation. What impressed me the most was the self confidence and comfort which they gained during that time. Both ended up being solid 7 Math students which also helped them immensely in their first college year. Thanks a lot to a great team at Lanterna and particularly to Abdul!

Lanterna is highly organized and well structured. The professors are all experienced IB teachers and examiners who are always available to help students fully understand the topics in their chosen subjects. I 100% recommend Lanterna.
