The food is good but the management rude
The food is always good but the staff are not very welcoming and can be really rude. The last time we went we said we’d never be back. Really disappointing since the food and some waiters are lovely, seems to be rude management
Always had great experiences at local…
Always had great experiences at local Las Iguanas and would definitely recommend it!
The food was excellent—full of flavour with some nice varieties on the menu. The 2-for-1 cocktails/mocktails were a highlight too. They were well-made and added to the overall experience.
Staff were always friendly and helpful. The overall value for money was very good considering the quality of food and drinks.
Would happily go back again!
Not impressed
Went to the one in the oracle Reading.
Took a while for someone to come and take our order new waitress apparently that I found out after it was her first full shift.
When the food arrived only 2 out of the 4 meals arrived then the 3 and then the 4th.
The 4th meal was wrong it got sent back . When the ‘correct ‘one came that was also wrong.
Service was not great . Floor manager said he would take our drinks off the bill.
Then used the WC .
OMG 3 cubicles and only one working. Toilet roll on the floor which was moist with a fluid . The one in the holder was hanging off the wall with what looked like chewing gum stuck to it.
to pay and said I have a blue light card to be told I couldn’t use it as it’s bank holiday .
So we just paid and left .
Not like it used to be
Gone downhill since started using the Temple street and Arcadian sites in Birmingham went yesterday for mothers day to the arcadian one no margarita which stated you get one on the website. Everytime you go the menus changed and options get less then when you ask for anything usually sold out. We decided yesterday not to use again shame because it used to be great but i suppose things have changed since the economy has gone downhill too.
Disappointed with Last Visit.
Disappointed with Last Visit.
Food was OK, but we were refused a window table, even tho' there were several available. 'Too far for waiter to walk' Sulkily moved from table by the toilet at our request, but not to a window table.
Southampton branch were fantastic
Southampton branch: booked for a party of 10 to celebrate our disabled son’s 18th birthday. Staff were excellent, chef had provided a blended curry and birthday brownie with candle. Service was attentive and timely. Food was very good as too drinks / cocktails. Thank you for understanding our needs and making our night memorable and enjoyable.
AVOID!
Reading, Oracle:
Tried to book a table in the Reading, Oracle, branch last night and was greeted by a abrupt and rather rude slim, grey-haired man who refused us the bottomless brunch option, saying only a la carte was available (the brunch option IS available, and bookable for any time online). He then walked away. We left and ate elsewhere.
The online offer to 'Join the Las Iguanas Mailing List & get £10 off when you spend £30.' didn't work. I tried twice and two friends also tried however none of us received the email with the offer/voucher.
Terrible experience all round. We won' be returning.
Worst dining experience I've ever had!
Worst dining experience I've ever had!
Midweek date night, had a 2hr window and so we booked a table beforehand.
We arrived on time and had to wait 10mins to be seated, after a further 10mins of no service, we got our own drinks from the bar.
Another 25mins without being attended to or even having our presence acknowledged, while watching people arriving after us getting service, I eventually had to get up and request the server to take our order.
Nearly 35mins after ordering, the mains turn up before starters, server blamed kitchen staff for preparing it all together, but unless their starters are served cold and soggy, I'm more inclined to believe he once again forgot we were there!
On our small 2 person table we had, 3 starters, 2 mains, 3 empty glasses(which we bussed ourselves eventually) and 2 full drinks, all at the same time.
The bill was around £85, with service charge, the nerve of the guy 🤣
My partner was up most the night with indigestion, because we had to eat so quickly due to terrible service.
Filled out generic feedback form, received generic thank you, absolutely zero customer care or follow up!
This was a rare night out for us, thought we'd go Midweek for a more quiet evening, lesson learned I suppose!!
Good service, food, and drinks
Went for a Valentines day meal with my Fiancee and were served by Tim, who was so lovely and attentive, despite every table being full at the time.
The food was great, and the drinks were even better- We will definitely be back, thanks Tim!
Avoid
One of the most shocking and distressing dining experiences we have ever had.
We dined at Las Iguanas, Centre Parcs Sherwood Forest, as a party of nine on our final evening away. Among us were two vegans and one vegetarian. From the moment we arrived, we clearly stated — multiple times — that two meals needed to be vegan.
We were asked about dietary requirements by the maître d’ and our waitress. We confirmed.
We ordered. Confirmed again.
Due to “iPad issues,” we were asked to reorder. Confirmed again.
Then we were asked to reorder a third time. Again, we clearly specified the two vegan meals.
Despite all of this, when the food finally arrived, my husband’s “vegan” curry was served with cheese balls on the side. When questioned, staff admitted they “shouldn’t have been sent out.” We were reassured the curry itself was vegan and safe.
It was not.
A quarter of the way through eating it, my husband discovered shredded chicken throughout the curry.
After nearly 30 years of not eating meat, you can imagine how distressing and upsetting this was. It was humiliating, shocking, and entirely avoidable.
When challenged, the explanation given was that the chef had used the same spoon for a chicken curry and that some meat had “fallen into” the vegan dish. If true, this reveals an alarming lack of basic food safety standards. If that is how vegan dishes are prepared, what confidence can anyone with allergies possibly have?
We immediately lost all trust in the kitchen. My husband was so upset he had to leave the restaurant.
While the meal bill was waived it was made clear this was “based on how angry” we were — not because of the seriousness of serving chicken in a clearly ordered vegan dish after three separate confirmations.
This was not a minor mistake. This was a complete failure of communication, kitchen process, and food safety.
If you are vegan or have allergies, I would urge extreme caution.
We are still awaiting the outcome of the internal “investigation.”
Deeply disappointing and frankly worrying.
Been to the one next to Wembley stadium…
Been to the one next to Wembley stadium a few times, food’s decent enough at that price bracket, good service, friendly staff. Normally go for happy hour cocktails, unfortunately, when an event is on at Wembley the menu is cut in half, why? Won’t be going again on event day.
Daylight robbery
The tapas were very good with reasonsonable portions. Unfortunately I was left with a bad taste in my mouth when I realised that we had been charged £4 each for a weak half of lime and soda. The waitress agreed that the price was extortionate and that they used to charge 80p. The price was not displayed in the menu
Food was okay
Food was okay, not amazing. Staff were great tbh but the drinks were definitely watered down
Absolutely terrible service and sub…
Absolutely terrible service and sub standard food… tapas menu extremely poor with no chicken wings!!!… we were given a free drink on the house as the wait for service was so bad to be honest we should have just gotten up and left like the people on the next table did…. Will definitely not return
Lovely experience
I've attended a few bottomless brunches at different Las Iguanas venues in Birmingham and I always have a brilliant time!
Food is tasty, drinks arrive quickly to the point we have several on the go.
Our sever was wonderful, so friendly and made conversation with us, gave recommendations and made us feel really welcome.
Bottomless brunch menu is limited as they usually are and there are options to upgrade.
Paige was an absolute breath of fresh…
Paige was an absolute breath of fresh air had our drinks topped up constantly! Will be back thank you!! Such a lovely girl credit to the company!!
Arcadian Birmingham- awful
Arcadian Birmingham- awful!
We visited this evening having pre-booked a table for two for the festive tapas- all you can eat for 90 mins..
Upon arrival we were abruptly told that it would get busy at 4 and that food may be slower to arrive.. I had assumed we’d be done by 4 so no issue!
We were able to order 3 tapas dishes per 2 people at a time.. we ordered almost immediately but had to wait 40 minutes for the food to arrive. Upon querying this- a waitress explained that a chef had called in sick leaving them short- fair enough- these things happen. But no contingency plan? On Christmas Eve when the Christmas tapas has been heavily advertised and only offered for two nights?
One more plate arrived and the rest we had to leave as we had tickets at the theatre at 5pm.
Best bit- they initially tired to charge me full price… for 4 small plates of food that took an hour and a half to arrive??
Food aside- the restaurant was nice and most of the staff were friendly.
Don’t use the toilets if you can help it… the smell of stale urine coming from the men’s loo was so strong it can be smelt from outside the door, which you need to pass to get to the ladies. The ladies toilets were pretty grim- toilets not clean!
I’d never return to eat here… put a real spender on the evening as we were hungry throughout the show at the theatre.
Really bizarre experience
Really bizarre experience. Staff asked us about refilling drinks constantly when they were still three quarters full. Also server asked us if we wanted the chicken from the 2 chicken dishes we ordered on the same plate without mentioning a charge. But what we actually got was a whole extra serving of chicken with a £5 charge that we didn't even eat! They asked us about the food about seven times. It was as if they were trying to constantly upsell. Never had this weird fake American style service before in Scotland. Food was okay, but would not go back!
Don't be fooled by the Bottomless…
Don't be fooled by the Bottomless Brunch deal, it's not what you think.
We went out expecting food aplenty, likewise with the cocktails. Not so.
At this time of year the Christmas Brunch menu was in, for about another £10-12 on top of usual prices. Vegetarian choice? Chilli, Mac and Cheese or a Veg patty with fries...hmm, not that festive, really. And that's it for food - one dish, like it or lump it.
Cocktails...there was a choice of about 10 cocktails on the menu, which seemed quite reasonable. The first cocktail came in a small metal tumbler with a ton of ice, and did taste nice. But that was probably due to the pre-mixed sugar in it. As it turns out, the cocktails are no more than a pre-mixed drink that bear little resemblance to what you would order off of the Usual drinks menu. More akin to something you might get from the local co-op in a tiny tin. The ice packed out most of the tumbler so you probably had about three mouthfuls of drink.
Now the reason I gave this three stars is because the service was pretty good. The cocktails were quite frankly rubbish though. I asked our server what the deal was with the cocktails, and she said that they didn't want people getting so drunk that they'd fall over and stagger out the restaurant, so all the cocktails came pre-mixed from their supplier. Okay fair enough. But I doubt very much they would care what would happen if one were to order the expensive mixed in-house cocktails off of the menu, and one staggered out of there 4 sheets to the wind. So that excuse really doesn't hold up.
If you book the bottomless brunch at Las Iguanas, be warned that you won't come out of there full up or particularly tipsy as one might expect from a bottomless brunch deal. Another example of ripoff Britain.
