I have the "My First Journal" book for my little one.
It's a lovely book, fun for the kids to full in and nice to look back at. Lots of pages and personalised for boys/girls on the front.

I came to the early sixties to join my mom & dad. I like a second generation of the wind rush generation.
Growing up in the UK, I was minded not forgotten our/my roots.
One thing, I never knew any of my Grandparents. However, there always my mother, father and siblings their to support up.
Even though I was here in the UK.
I never experienced any of the Nasty Racism the my parents had suffered previously. I tried to used the opportunity that was open me to me, by the help of God.
This book written about our lived experiences from a wide range of crossectio of person from the Caribbean is of an historical fact, a legacy from the first generation from the fifties, sixties and early seventies...🙏🏽✝️
My mother who is 97 in March lived in the UK over 60 years and is of the Windrush generation. Cynthia Hutchinson now resides in the USA, fortunately I had the opportunity to take and share the book relating to the wind rush experience with her written by Viv Pommel. The book brought back great and valuable memories to my mom, she could relate to everything published and therefore added her own experiences. It was a great read, a fabulous reminder and for the younger Afro Caribbean generation with very little knowledge of what took place during that particular time.
Fabulous
I bought the book entitled "Under the Mango Tree". It is a very interesting book with poems that gives me the feel of Caribbean and historical highlights of the Windrush generation through the eyes of children. It's a must have!
II have purchased patina's poetry for my children and they loved it.
I also purchased two other books , this includes my gratitude journal my daughter said this was her best birthday present and that she likes the fact that she can write her feelings and thoughts she also loves the affirmation and ideas to create her own stories.
I purchased a copy of Patina's Poetry book for my adopted daughter aged 8. She has gone through alot of previous trauma, we found this book to be a fantastic tool for enabling traumatised children to open up about their deep feelings without feeling judged by adults. So far my child has written 4 poems my personal favourite is entitled Family and Friends, in this poem she explains the importance of friends and family including members who are not related by blood. This book has opened the way for invaluable conversations around love, family and loss. To the author...Thank You..❤️
