Anne Frank and Oskar Schindler Holocaust Tour


Have had such an amazing holiday, what a wonderful experience. So much information and so many places visited. Felt very safe in the hands of our drivers Dave and Mark, they went above and beyond even helped me locate my lost phone. Nothing was too much trouble. Guides Gary and Lesley were so knowledgeable about the sights we visited. Staff interacted very well with onboard customers.Will definitely be booking again.

Commando Operations Tour

The booking process was so easy and we were kept informed about all the details. The staff on the coach Ben the Guide, Steve and Andy for the driving and looking after our admin needs. We could not have had a better team Ben was an excellent Guide and his knowledge was outstanding, if he could not answer a question which was very unusual, he would find out and get back to us. Steve and Andy took care of our admin needs and the driving. All of the team ensured that we had a great time, nothing was too much for them. Our thanks go out to all of them. Will be back for another holiday.

Mark and Nick were great

Mark and Nick were great. They gave their best all the time. The cleanest, gleamiest coach on the road.
The hotel was a good hotel, but the number of young people there was a challenge. The youngsters appeared to be involved with various sports and field sport activities. The youngsters were poorly controlled by their apparent supervisors, and being youngsters, they chanced their boundaries.
The storage space in the hotel rooms was very poor with insufficient storage in quite small rooms. Two of us sharing the very limited space was not the best of experiences.
The food was OKI but quality was disappointing. The hotel seemed to be catering for far too many guests in relation to the serving staff.
The Staff tried very hard to meet requests and needs but were overwhelmed by hundreds of guests.
We visited Porec, where we originally were booked to stay. The options available there were substantially of a higher standard than at Medulin, where we ended up staying.
I must re-emphasise that Mark and Nick were a credit to Leger in how they managed what must have been difficult and disappointed guests.

thoughts about Holocaust tour

Guides and Mark were great. Showed personal interest and were very helpful.

There should be a review of the hotel in Liege Belgium. It was next to a casino and there was loud activity until 3am. This is not good. Please select another hotel for future trips.

The first day was too long. We could have had a hotel not so far away from Calais and we could have still plenty of time to get to Westerbork. The first night and the first hotel was a mess.

The hotel in Berlin was great. Great breakfast and great dining room for evening meals.

I do want to share about my experience with the taxi driver in Coventry. He was rude and disrespectful to another couple in the taxi.

Awesome trip

Awesome trip. Mark was an excellent guide - full of knowledge and stories. Full days offering a full experience of the DDay landings. Straightforward travelling from the feeder coaches, hub, ferry and coach to Normandy!

the coach drivers and the guides did an awesome job and the latter were very well informed about many aspects of the sites we visited.
suggestion: please only book hotels which have restaurants that are open when we arrive. IBIS and the first hotel were NOT. and so I did not get an evening hot meal - not a good idea for older people. Thank you

Lovely holiday and very sweet memories…

Lovely holiday and very sweet memories made to celebrate a 90th birthday! 🎂 Richard and Marcus our drivers were generous with their patience and assistance and humour and their support was invaluable throughout. Realistically our mobility compromised the enjoyment, seven hours left to wander was a real challenge, thank goodness for prescribed pain killers. We caught up with family, a real happy bonus. The hotel was comfortable and could have been excellent if their 24 hour rolling film of the welcome to expect was even partway met. We requested a kettle and told too busy at reception, having ascertained from many of our party they had those facilities in their rooms. We were told those people paid more, (we paid 2027 price for this holiday as a late booking on an extra coach & felt insulted by the receptionist remark ). Richard had a word with hotel next day & on return from a long day we had just that, a lonely kettle, no mugs, tea, coffee or sugar and milk!! Are we stupid or what?? We requested tea bags and were asked for 6 euro, no. not a welcoming or friendly hotel, zilch on empathy front. "Restaurant" limited for evening meals but breakfast provided was more than adequate and beautifully fresh. All the hotel's waiting staff in hotel were polite and pleasant.
Our conclusion, sadly not to be repeated by us, unless by miracle surgery really makes a profound improvement to mobility. The Leger coach is definitely more comfortable for the long distances and services on & off board brilliant. There the luxury ended. Despite making our physical issues very clear on booking and receiving assurances and understanding, none of our requests were met, we are aware disclaimer to that effect and it is as it is.
A great way to travel if fit enough, bear that in mind.

It's All Taken Care Of

Booking was easy over the phone and from pick up to drop off, everything was taken care of for us and we could just sit back and not have to worry about hotel bookings and check in or organising the best places to go. Nick and Mark were amazing very helpful and welcoming. They made sure to tell us the information we needed and got us through customs without any hitches. The places we visited were all amazing, particularly Opatija, which had a stunning bay and mountainous backdrop. Nick and Mark, made sure to let us know the next days itinerary before we got off the coach each evening, so we always knew the time to be ready the next day. I don't think they could have done anymore. The only thing we really need to do was get to the pick up point and from there get home, everything else was done for us and we could enjoy the holiday. And wow, check out those shiny coach wheels! 😆

We did Croatia with Nick and Mark.
Who were very good at their job.
The rapport with the passengers was excellent.
They made the Holiday.
One or two niggles with the coach, which was beyond their control.
Not sure the Holiday was value for money.
Again this was beyond their control.
I would like to discuss this further with the company.

Our trip was great the staff on the bus…

Our trip was great the staff on the bus and guides were entertaining and helpful .
Hotel was a long way out of Amsterdam about 1.5 hours , cash dispenser in the town in a supermarket but the guides didn’t know this . Hotel couldn’t cope in the restaurant we were a group of 8 but we were always served last despite booking our table early at 7.30 . Other guests complained on our behalf as did we . Manager said all down to the chef ! However not good enough . Rooms comfortable and well stocked.

Trips great but we were not told that you could do both as one in the morning and one in the afternoon and you needed to pay cash on the bus . Hence needing to find a cash dispenser.

The booking staff at Head office were useless didn’t know enough information about each holiday and as I had a group of 8 gave each of us conflicting information. They never contacted me once as Lead passenger about missing information it was only when I called with questions they needed more information. I would not book with Leger again due up this fact and neither will my 7 other friends .

Magnificent Normandy D-day Landing Beaches Trip

The whole event was very well organised. Tony, who is blind and partially hearing appreciated that Mike, the guide had a very clear, precice voice. The coach team looked after us from start to finish. The staff at the hub took us in hand and kept us informed all the time. Mike had top notch knowledge of the subject and had lovely personal anectdotes. The whole trip was memorable.

Very long trips to and aroung French and Italian Riviera with 'annoying passengers behind us …

Very long trip* to Italian Riviera with Reims hotels being both very poor. Italian hotel (5 nights) acceptable room Very nice staff.
Very nice days to Monaco etc.
Matt and Dan both very excellent guides and drivers
*(Perhaps not Riviera's problem, but we paid for nice seats only to have a lady with dementia and husband with penetrating voice behind us. She kept asking the same things over and over again with her husband correcting her and scolding her constantly. My partner had to sit at the back of the coach occasionally. I had to put on headphones which meant I missed some of Matt and Dan's excellent commentary).

The battlefields of Normandy with Dan Matt and Mark

This was the first trip to France on an organised trip. I have to say Dan and Matt were fantastic as driver and host on a silver service trip. I must also commened Mark for his words and knowledge. We got to all the places of interest and more besides. I have to especially thank them for the little detour to our route, so I could go though the village of Maltot were my grandfather was killed. This was extra special for me and am truly grateful. These guys are a Credit to Leger holidays and worked so hard for passengers nonstop. Because of them alone I would recommend a trip
