Really helpful and friendly staff who talked me through my options. No pressure to decide quickly. Given the chance to go home and look at frames online which they would order in to look at if I wished. Ended up changing lenses in existing frames which was done in a week.

In September 2024 my annual eye examination showed a slight change after many years remaining closely the same. I have worn High Index glasses lenses for extreme short sightedness for over 60 years and was expecting the same. I was persuaded to get plastic lenses. When they arrived due to a prism included in the prescription I could not wear them and they were quickly corrected without the prism. Over the next 9 months I tried on numerous occasions to wear them. Eventually gave up due the strain the narrow field of focus was putting on me.
In July 25 at my annual examination I let them know of my problem. After very detailed measurements were made I was advised that the latest updated version lenses would cost me over £600. I told them I was not willing to pay extra as the present lenses cost me £750. They said they would see what they could do - the answer was nothing as the guarantee only lasts 60 days something they omitted to advise me of. So £750 down the drain.
4th August.
My opinion of Leightons has been restored. I received a call today advising they would replace the lenses without charge.

Had appointment with Hannah today for ear check. I was really impressed with the service I received. Hannah was extremely knowledgeable and gave us lots of advice. She also explained in great detail the different types of hearing aids available and what functions they have. Staff were friendly and genuine. I will definitely be returning. I was initially reticent about having an ear wax removal appointment, having had a burst eardrum reconstructed from nearby connective tissue some time back, but Nikisha soon dispelled my fears by gentle and professional methodology, which was very successful!
I’m now happily free of wax (AND my wife is delighted that I’ve been able to turn the TV volume down!) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I had an appointment cancelled and there was a problem in notifying me so that I travelled unnecessarily. I wrote via email but didn't get a reply - however ... as soon as I posted here, I had a response via telephone the next day - the email address had had an issue which Leightons were not aware of. The person I spoke to was very apologetic and listened to my concerns and is reviewing processes behind the scenes to ensure the issues that i had won't happen again. I was very happy with the response that I got.

I took both of my kids in, one for glasses to be fitted and the other for a first eye test. One was over excited and the other very nervous. Staff handled both with patience and respect, talking directly and appropriately to them (rather than over their heads at me the whole time), and bothe came away with a positive experience!

Kate Bull in Leightons Burnham on Sea is an Angel, I have always been a Specsavers customer until this year having had bad service from them last year. All the staff in Burnham on sea are all so friendly and very professional. The optician who tested my eyes was absolutely brilliant. the Glasses i have now i can see crystal clear through which i have not done for years. Kate Bull who helped me choose my glasses was excellent. i told her my mum was having injections in her eye due to her having wet eye muscular degeneration, but after 4 injections she did not want to go and have anymore because she gets so ill and stressed having them and got me to cancel her next appointment she is 86 years old. she would by stopping them go blind in that eye. Kate was very sympathetic and then shared with me her personal problems that she as had with her eyes and asked me to share this with my mum. i went home and told mum about Kate and what she told me. Mum was very moved with Kates story that she said phone the hospital and book in my next injection. Kate with her 40 years of experience as helped save my mums eyesight. I know most firms these days want to make as much profit as they can, but its not all about money its having an Angel working for your company and that's Kate Bull. I cannot thank Kate enough.

The customer experience here in Burnham on Sea was excellent. Salim who did my eye test took his time to understand what I needed from specs and made sure that the resulting specs worked well for me. Karen who helped me with frames was great. She also treated me like an individual and helped me to choose two frames which fit well and look good. She also showed me how to use the Leighton care plan to get best value. I am writing this 4 weeks after the appointment because I wanted to see how the specs worked out in use. I can definitely recommend this branch.

The service from start to finish was exemplary.The optician understood and took into account my complex history and suggested options to suit my needs. Was seen by Karen who was extremely knowledgeable as to what was suitable and offered many choices in the way of frames etc that may be suitable. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt they listened and understood without any time constraints. Overall an enjoyable experience.
