Marissa my Trainer/Assessor was great. Always communicated well and gave great tips and ideas on how to approach a unit.
The role plays options were great, as my workplace could not have facilitated this.

I had a very positive experience completing the WHS Certificate IV course. The trainer, Lily, was excellent – very knowledgeable, patient, and always willing to support students. She explained the content clearly and made sure that I understood the key concepts. The course content was practical and relevant to real workplace situations, especially for those looking to work in safety roles. The materials were well structured and easy to follow. The staff were also helpful throughout the process, with good communication and support from enrolment to completion. Overall, I would recommend this course to anyone interested in developing their skills in work health and safety.

My review is based on having a very responsive, encouraging and knowledgeable trainer Robyn Smith who made the whole experience easy to navigate and gave me the confidence to complete the course.

Overall, I found the course helpful and valuable — it certainly wasn’t all doom and gloom 😊 However, there are a few areas where I believe improvements could enhance the learning experience.
I found some of the assessment components to be repetitive. At times, the same or very similar questions appeared in both the knowledge questions and the practical assessments. Streamlining this could make the workload feel more purposeful and less duplicative.
The volume of content also felt overwhelming at times. For example, 60 pages on leadership seemed excessive for a WHS course. I often felt that approximately 20% of the learning manual content was not directly necessary for achieving competency. For me, less is more — I understand key concepts and expectations more clearly when the material is concise and focused.
In several practical assessments, the document structure made them harder to follow than necessary. I often had to copy and paste appendices into a new Word document to work through them effectively. Separating assessor information into a dedicated “criteria” tab or section might improve the overall flow and usability of the documents.
I also acknowledge that I didn’t reach out for support during the course, and I think meeting with an assessor or educator early on may have helped me work more efficiently. That’s something I would do differently in future.
I really dislike role play tasks and had been putting them off until everything else was completed, however I found Robyn's (assessor) demeanor was really great and made these assessment parts easy and comfortable to complete.
Despite the challenges, I did find the course beneficial overall and appreciate the knowledge and skills I gained.
