Total scam and a waste of time and…

Total scam and a waste of time and money, they hope you don't realise until it is too late. They claim 7-day a week help is available. Yet, no phone number listed and only delayed automated emails. Best option is to claim back from your credit or debit card; banks will normally refund for such claims and you won't be the first. They use the same green and type face as the DVLA so be careful. I am also trying to get a class action organised against the directors of this and similar companies please respond if you have been scammed and wish to be added to the class action. We are also seeking punishment in the way of punitive damages.

Don’t give up, get your money back

So, if you’re reading these reviews you’ve probably been caught too. Don’t give up, you can get your money back. Here is why and how:
- Companies like this (the names vary over the years) want to stay, technically, within the law, hence all the terms and conditions guff on their sites
- They want to avoid the courts at all costs as the whole basis of their business model can be challenged.
So, do the following:
- No point ranting, calling them scammers etc - they’ve heard it all before and, as set out above, they will argue they are not breaking any laws, you agreed to their t&cs etc.
- Instead, send an immediate request for a refund, so you have this in writing. Be civil.
- They’ll refuse or drag their heels replying. Next step inform them you are sending a letter via tracked postage to the company address given on their website, requesting a full refund within seven days, and that you will be making a county court claim if you have not received repayment in this time - do send this by post, don’t just say it. Chances are it’s a shell address and will be returned to you, but you are proving you’ve made every effort to work with them to resolve the situation, which the courts prefer.
- If they contact you during/after the seven days offering a partial refund, e-mail back again making it clear that, if no refund is forthcoming within a seven day time period, then you will be lodging a county court claim, for which you will also be claiming for court costs. The 2006 OFT guide for business relating to distance selling makes clear that administrative work of the type they are providing cannot equate to the provision of a service.
- As stated above, it is highly unlikely they will risk challenging the whole basis of their website “business” in court.
- If all else fails do it - fill in the court form and send them a screenshot, making clear they have a final 24 hours to refund before you submit. At that point you’re looking at 20-something pounds to proceed through small claims, and there is lots of advice out there on how to do it. If it came to it, I would, but I’d be amazed if they don’t back down. Good luck!

Scam scam scam

Scam scam scam. If you use them check your bank account immediately. £113 gone for a £34 licence please keep scrolling and you will find all the one star real reviews.please everyone flag these fake reviews. Some have come from countries abroad. Why would they use the dvla ?. However this is north to do with the dvla. Please please keep Flagging the fake reviews and keep there star rating true. Leave more than one review if you have been scammed. There is no way anyone would be happy to use this company. They don’t say they are not the dvla, they don’t say they will charge you more than 3 times the price of the dvla. And the reviews say your licence will arrive quickly. I received a form to fill out that if I had gone onto the real dvla I could have filled out first time myself. Please please don’t let these people over rule our bad experience

A very clever scam

I would describe this company as legal scammers. They basically charge you for a service that you don't need or catch people out, that think they're on the DVLA site. They clearly state in their terms and conditions, that if you request to cancel the application within 24 hours, you're able to ask for a full refund. I did this, sent them the proof and they still tried to keep my money, offering me 20 pound then 30. If you send them a request to cancel within 24 hours, demand a full refund or tell them you'll ask your bank to request an investigation into the transaction. That's what I did and they refunded me in full, after about 6 emails, minus the 14 pound that it actually cost to renew my driving licence, as they actually do process the application your new licence.
Read the terms and conditions and don't let them keep any of your money...T

This is a fairly crude scam

This is a fairly crude scam. They trick you into paying £93 without your explicit permission (hidden surcharges). Then fail to provide a service and offer a partial refund to make you go away. How this is not actually criminal is beyond me!

Unable to get an asnwer

Like many others i have paid £93 to renew my drivers licence and since seen the reviews.

I have emailed them at contact licence-online.co.uk
and getting undeliverable emails back. Now worried.

Have contacted bank who advised me to try and contact merchant which i have done and then if no response after 2 week, raise an investigation.

Further update....they came back and offered me half my money back, I declined and asked for the full amount, they then offered me £84 of the £93 back. For the sake of £9, I accepted and it was swiftly deposited back into my account.

This company has scammed my poor dad…

This company has scammed my poor dad who is vulnerable. They have charged him £93 for renewal of his driving license. He was on the DVLA website so at least he thought. The payment page said he'll be paying £14 only to be hit with £93 on his statement, which he only saw today. We've called Barclays fraud and chargeback team to dispute and they've been no help. They said as he's received his License, there is nothing they can do. I've been trying to contact DVLA all day with no luck. Doubt they'll be much help. PLEASE AVOID AVOID AVOID THESE SCAMMERS. We are all living in hard times financially and this is the last thing we needed as a family to put us over the edge. My dad is vulnerable and is so down on himself because of this company. I hope you're happy that you're taking advantage of the poor and vulnerable! I will be taking legal action against them and will be reporting to trading standards. ABSOLUTE SCUM OF THE EARTH. Please also note they operate under different names and there no contact details for them apart from emails which you don't get a response from. The bank statement ref shows them as APPLICATION ONLINE LTD.

Terrible terrible experience with this…

Terrible terrible experience with this awful company.

I, like others, did not realise until the money was taken that I had not used the right site. I cancelled immediately, which was within hours and overnight. They only communicated over email and refused to give a refund initially.

I had to get legal advice and followed the very useful advice from people on this review website. I persisted and they offered me increasing amounts of refund, until I accepted at £65 as I just wanted it to be over. They then said they would only give me £34.

In the end I did get my £79 refunded but after a lot of stress and additional cost to myself. A truly horrible experience. It is sad that people make their money by ripping other people off.

What worked for me in the end was putting in a subject access request. When they said they did not have my data (which was a lie as they refunded me without asking for my bank details.) I complained to the ICO. Good luck to those who are still battling.

False reviews

There is very little else anyone can say about these charlatans and fraudsters that has not been said. They are so desperate they are leaving good false reviews if themselves. Do you really think someone would review a company three times in five hours? (99% sure the reviews are false:- Laura Whippa 3 reviews, Mark Devis 3 reviews, Robert James 3 reviews, Andrea August 2 reviews, Martin Rob 3 reviews, Jack 2 reviews, Charlie 2 reviews, Ava Lily 5 reviews. Seriously how pathetic can you get!!!

Reported to Trading Standards

Reported this organisation to Trading Standards under following sub areas of concern:

They tried to stop you using your legal rights - for example, they said you can’t return faulty goods

They weren’t clear about the price or added on extra costs - for example, they advertised theatre ticket prices without booking fees.

Also registered a complaint with The information commissioner's office regarding GDPR concerns.

Avoid making the mistake of unwittingly processing your driving licence renewal through this organisation who charge £79 processing fee literally for nothing.

Use Gov.com only and pay £14.

I wrote on this site last week 15th…

I wrote on this site last week 15th April, that I had used this scam site by mistake. They took £93 out of my account. I noticed immediately and after looking in this site for help, emailed cancelling and telling them my legal rights. I have been emailing back and forth every day with them. They continue to refuse to pay me back so I contacted my bank’s fraud department and they are going to try. I emailed this scam company again today to say that is forwarded all the emails to the fraud dept and that I would not stop until I got my money back. They replied saying I wasn’t getting it. I’ll see if my bank has any luck and if not, I’ll take them to the small claims court. My bank said they know all about the company and the scam so will try to help all they can. I won’t give up. These dishonest people need jailed! Don’t go near them!!

Don't give up

Don't give up, finally got £79 refund today (£34 paid for application) just keep asking for full names and ask for registered business address and don't accept any offers other than what your owed. Eventually i told them every email they have sent me was being forwarded to Lloyd's fraud bank, they stopped messaging me then. I left it a few days before asking for a final answer regarding my refund.... We can offer you £79 refund... Finally... I accepted then within 3 day's money back in my son's account..

Got a full £79 refund ... eventually

Posted on this site on 7 April that my wife had been scammed of £79 by this sham of a company. Today, after lots of emails to and fro, the full £79 was refunded, after 'final' offers of £20, £30 and £50. Am going to try and put together all the emails in one long stream so people can see how to do it but not sure if this site will let me post it?
