This company is a scam they have tag them self into the DVLA web site so double check you are on the government website before typing in any info they just tried to take £93 out of my bank for a £14 renewal, what a bunch of scam artists,
I was caught too
I was caught too by these dreadful people but yesterday received a full refund of £79 back into my account. Don’t give up! I refused their offers of £20, £40 and £60 and kept sending e mails. My final email stated I would be involving the Police and forwarding all emails to them. Good luck.
SCAM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Hideous company. I ordered my daughter's provisional driving licence from this company in error, thinking it was the DVLA site. There's no indication at first glance that it isn't as it takes you straight to the application form, not the home page of the site. I realised my mistake as soon as I processed the transaction as no fee came up. When I checked my bank they had taken £113!!! I emailed them via their online form and directly from my email address within minutes to explain my error and ask for a refund, which I am entitled to as per their t&C's. I received an email back from them telling me they would only refund me £20 as they had already started work and I had agreed to this in their t&C's. Clearly a scam as I refuse to believe they started any work within minutes of me paying, complete load of rubbish. As the conditions state, I have the right to a refund as long as it's requested within 24 hours. I am not sure why they would start any work within this time frame, knowing it would make their own conditions void!
Unfortunately this will continue to happen as it's the first site that comes up when you search for driving licences and I believe the only business this company get is through customer error. I honestly can't see why anyone would pay £79 for this company to do what you can do easily yourself online. It's the same process to apply for a provisional licence with the DVLA as this company have, so why would anyone pay this money for nothing. COMPLETE SCAM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Terrible company
My 16 year old daughter was guided to this site from DVLA site when applying for her provisional licence, and obviously assumed this was how she had to apply. At no point was it made clear that she was entering a third party site and that it was not part of the DVLA application process. I realised what she had done and emailed to terminate the contract within 2 hours of her applying. I am now in an email battle backwards and forwards to get a refund. They are in breach of their own website terms and conditions and will try everything not to process the refund. This is a terrible scam. Avoid this company. There should be a warning on the DVLA site regarding them.
This is a scam double double check all…
This is a scam double double check all Gov.co.uk websites as they obviously dont
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
I can't believe I even have to give a 1* to this company. A total disgrace. Avoid using them at all costs. I realised very quickly when I saw £113 on my pending transactions and not the £34 provisional licence cost. I emailed and cancelled within 24 hours as per their t&c's and they are still claiming they cannot refund. They are known by the banks now and in fact if was them who told me where to find their t&c's. I followed the process exactly. It is now with disputes at my bank. They are trying to offer me £20 off which I have flatly declined...
How long does it take to get a refund…
How long does it take to get a refund from this scum company can someone let me know please.
I too typed the Web address stated on…
I too typed the Web address stated on the letter I received from DVLA to renew my driving licence into google. Without checking I was directed to the Licence safe website. Thinking I was filling in the application on the DVLA webpage I completed all the details and made payment. Luckily I checked my bank statement straight away and realised what had happened, I was livid!
Firstly I checked their terms and conditions, it does state that you can terminate your application within 24 hours of submitting it, however a 10% administration charge will apply. I sent an email as instructed within the T&Cs within 1 hour asking for a refund of 90% of the 'administration' fee they were charging. I also contacted my bank, who were willing to help me pursue this matter on my behalf but only after contacting the vendor myself and once the money had left my account.
Anyway as others have done I pursued the company for a refund, initially I was offered £20, then £30 and 10 emails later between myself and Jennifer a final offer of £50. I wrote back thanking Jennifer but rejecting the offer stating I would be pursuing other avenues and that I had provided proof that I had requested cancellation a meer 40 minutes after making the application. Another 6 emails between myself and Jennifer and I have just received the refund of £71. My driving licence has arrived safely and correctly so the £71 is the £93 - £14 for the DVLA licence= £79 less 10% of that figure for administration.
DO NOT LET THIS DROP.. PERSERVERE. Good luck.
Just received a full refund *KEEP GOING*
Just received a full refund.
Jennifer pushed it right to the end being adamant there was NOTHING she could do, £30 was the maximum refund!!!
Refused to answer or acknowledge the cooling off period.
The data protection info.
The name and address of company.
Keep persisting with threats of solicitors and small courts claim. The last email said. There is nothing more I can do. I thanked her and said not a problem, please send me the legal department details and my solicitor with sort it out with them. Next thing I know I receive an email saying as discussed a full refund (we never had that discussion) it took 5 days to sort out.
KEEP GOING AND DONT BACK DOWN!!
Good luck 😉
I typed in the gov website address and…
I typed in the gov website address and was taken tothis site. I just carried on typing my information into the portal. Passport Number, Driving Licence Numbers, NI Number the works. When I entered the payment details it didnt show up how much the fee was so I was expecting another page to pop up with the details. It didnt! The next thing I know I am £93 pounds down and the payment had left my account only to find this is NOT the Government website. I didnt get a reference number or email to confirm the application I only received an email telling me my payment had been successful. There is no telephone number to contact them and non I can find on the web. I contacted my bank straight away but they couldnt do anything as the payment had been made even though it was pending on the account. The payment is also a re-occuring payment so there is nothing to stop them requesting another payment in 12 months time the lady at the bank told me. She obviously blocked that. They said if you cancel within 14 days you get your money back but to be honest I am more bothered about all the personal information I keyed in. Feel like a complete fool! I am usually meticulous about my personal information and have no idea why I fell for this. Could kick my self very hard with steel capped boots right now
BAD, BAD COMPANY - DO NOT USE
I should have known better, and taken more care to make sure I was on the genuine gov.uk site, but hey, we all make mistakes. By the time that I saw all these negative reviews, it was too late - I was in the Venus fly-trap! I complained to Licencesafe that because their site is made to look the same, I had been under the impression that I was on the DVLA site. I also argued that it wasn't clear how much money was going to be taken (I thought I was paying £14). I sent email after email, refused their derisory offer of £20, then £30, and finally settled for £50 - I didn't have the time to keep on arguing my case any further. (Effectively I ended up losing £29). They even made up a page that purported to show that they were being transparent about costs, but that was not what appeared on the application originally. However, it's important for everyone who gets caught out like this to contact Citizen's Advice - they're really helpful - Tel: 03454 040506 and said that the more people complain about this misleading company, the more likely it is that something can be done to stop such underhanded practise. More important than the money even, is the fact that this company now have all my security details, and although finally I got them to give assurance that they are data protection compliant - can we trust them? Next port of call is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) 0303 123 1113 - to inform them about the situation, so that if ever there is a breach of my data security, the ICO will perhaps be able to trace. I took advice of someone on one of the reviews and keep on at them to get some compensation, and I urge everyone to do the same - and to complain about them to the Citizen's Advice. Good luck everyone
Another one to add to the list after…
Another one to add to the list after rushing... £79 down. I guess is our own fault for not looking properly, but I find it disgusting that the banks or authorities can't shut scams like that down or give you a refund...
I too had £93 taken from my bank…
I too had £93 taken from my bank instead of £14 for a licence renewal. This is outrageous that their site is identical to the Gov Website. I’m certainly no fool but it fooled me. I have given driving licence details and passport details? I have emailed them well within the 24 hour cancellation period so let’s see. Meanwhile I have reported to fraud team with the bank. Fingers crossed.
Has anyone actually been refunded?
Ignore the fake positive reviews
Amazing that there is a spate of reviews now giving positivity saying they spoke to customer services even though there is no numbers?! I also got a request from licence safe asking to change the review cause it had personnal details about the CEO.
Just check company house for yourself. Anyway seeing as they copied my review to say ignore the negative reviews I reiterate.
Ignore the positive reviews they are fake! Most are miraculously appearing overnight. The site is made to look like the dvla site. A replacement licence is 14 pounds from dvla these charge 92! When I found out 92 pounds was taken I instantly emailed them asking to cancel and quoted consumer rights. They said they couldn't cause they already started the process. After 30! Emails and the token we will offer 20 then 30 they informed me they would return 78 pounds. Of which they have done so....eventually. It took several calls to citizens advice an email to trading standards and forwarded all emails to my solicitor for advice/action. I did ask to cancel the service straight away but they said I knew all about the terms and conditions on their site but of course you dont cause if you search licence renew on google it takes you straight into it. I have
also have informed the bank of the scam. If the site was not made to look like dvla and had a warning straight away that it wasnt and that they were a third party site then there would be no comeback. It's not and realistically who would pay 92 pounds for a replacement licence when dvla charge 14??? AVOID unless you like wasting money or like emailing! It also tells a tale they move offices regularly and have no phone numbers. So to recap the positive reviews are fake and avoid! I quoted consumer rights and told them to cancel straight away. Alot of people do get their money back if persistent but it may take several emails both to the scam site and alot of other people. Good luck
Just been scammed myself
Just been scammed myself. Charged me 113 pound for a provisnal driving licence. Email them within 24 hours for a refund. And speak to your bank! My bank has told me I need to wait for pending period to be over. Amd the transaction to go threw. Then get invoice with the bank for them to get the money back. DVLA was no help at all. Disgusted with them that they can allow this to happen.
Scam website that charge a £79 admin fee for no benefit
Scam website that charge a £79 admin fee in addition to the DVLA fee for renewing or applying for a new UK driving license.
All they seem to do is pass your details on to the DVLA and keep their 'admin fee'. You dont need to pay this or use this site as you can go direct to the DVLA saving this cost.
I got stung as i used google to find the DVLA website, the company have used google algothrims to promote their site to the top of the search listings so that it is promoted ahead of the official DVLA website! If you realise your mistake and request a refund within 24hrs as per their terms and conditions you may get something back.

Our say on copycat sites
You should always go directly to the official ‘gov.uk’ website for government services – such as passport or driving licence renewals – rather than relying on search engines, where the results can display copycat websites.
These often charge an over-the-top fee for a free service, or mislead you into signing up for recurring payments. If you fall for one of these, you should be able to get your money back using Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act (if you paid by credit card) or a chargeback claim (debit card).
It’s illegal for a copycat website to parade itself as a government entity. We have called for a crackdown against sites that don’t prominently display that they’re not associated with the government and that you can get a passport or driving licence without additional costs through the official government website.
