I use this website for playing chess games, training against bots and learning the game.

I recommend lichess for playing online chess. Every feature on lichess is free (except from the patron wing badge).

My daughter was playing a tournament organised by her institute which is purely private tournament for the kids in that institute. She was playing a game and suddenly kicked out by lichess. We initially thought it is a bug. As that account is having issue, we created another account and again observed the same issue. We tried again and failed 3 more times. We could not understand the reason so finally approached lichess. Their justification is my daughter has cheated which is actually not true. They have some incorrect mechanism to identify fraud. My daughter is unable to take the advantage of playing chess with their group due to this waste website. (Had to choose some random date as I do not remember the exact date of initial issue)

As far as it goes Lichess is a computer.

They LET you win a few games and then you continue to lose game after game.

Too many cheaters and very poor and slow cheat detection, no fun! On chess.com i won immediately many games and even a tournament at 2200 rated

great, totally free chess platform

I play chess a lot and This website offer almost everything you need.
When pairing there is always at least 40K people playing so you will find quick match.

You can analyse infinite games for free although another websites require payment to do that.

Support android and IOS and very easy to use .

I like the puzzle also you can play Infinite and try everything for free in this website.

What I missed here ?

1- When analyzing games you need to add brilliant moves feature.

2- design not bad but could be better.

Absolutely love Lichess. Far superior to Chess.com (and free!). The good guys of the chess world.

I love how lichess is free. its another experience for me. The UI sucks. but you can design it yourself with various extensions or with settings in site. compared with other chess servers, this one has the best cheat detectors.

99 percent of my quick pairing games are against the same bot - a variant of stockfish - havent seen a human or had a reasonable conversation with one in over 2 years - i play at 1700 and have been on the receiving end of 5 or 6 move combinations that i suspect only an IM and above could find in the time control i play at - 3 mins no increment - a horribly rigged experience - why they do this i have no idea

I like the app because it's free, I like the puzzles, and the different game modes. However, I would like the developers to add more offline features, as it seems the app is pretty much unusable offline

Since my last review on lichess, I have joined FIDE approved online platform called chessarena. Please crap site like Lichess and go to genuine online platform with a support team who can give you clarification.

Not everything that is free is good. Lichess is one such thing. It is free but has wasted my time as I worked hard to improve my rating but their algo said I cheated. The only cheating I did was leave some games unattended as guests came at home. NEVER NOT EVEN ONCE I HAVE TAKEN ANY HELP. So the SITE LICHESS is the real cheat.

Guys, you will be banned as welll if you do well.

I have deleted my account at Lichess because even if they reinstate my rating, I could not care less as your rating at Lichess has no bearing on FIDE or FOA rating.

This website is excellent but not enough. Too many cheaters. No personalized puzzle. But the bots are good!

too many cheaters and the puzzles are waste of time as even if you do the correct move, the AI will find another move... I had a plan in my head that involved 2 move checkmate, but the game decided it has to take 5+ moves.... if I could give 0 stars, I would

Too many cheaters, the most use trick is, the cheaters let the clock run out forcing you to wait for their move which will never come, then the lichess software assign them as a winners and obviously you as a loser. Sweet you are an honest player losing to a cheaters

Excellent site where there are no ads and it free. Much better than Chess.com which only cares about making money and doesn't care one bit about their customers. There is nothing better on chess.com than Lichess in my opinion. I am much happier playing on Lichess where Magnus Carlson plays when not playing an event on Chess24.

Do not pay to play on Chess.com. I made that mistake and I regret it very much. They don't like you stopping your membership and/or complaining.

Lichess doesn't care whether you donate to them or not it's your choice but you will have a much better experience there Trust me.
