Lots of different varieties and flavours. The small trays are great if you only need a small amount rather than having a tin open. Good value for money, especially when there is a money off deal.... See more

About Lily's Kitchen

Written by the company

In 2008 our founder Henrietta started making food from scratch at her kitchen table in London for her Border Terrier Lily. All because she really, really loved her. That love for our pets started Lily’s Kitchen and still keeps us going today.

Pets are family and they deserve proper food
But what is proper food? Proper food means nutritionally complete recipes made by experts, labelled honestly, using ethically sourced natural ingredients. No meat meal, no additives and no cheap fillers. Just fresh meat, delicious veg, and herbs and botanicals that support your dogs’ and cats’ health so they can concentrate on sitting on laps, shoulders and heads, demanding walkies, 6am breakfasts and knocking things over with their tails ‘by accident’ – or so they claim.

For people, pets and the planet
We’re a certified BCorp. That means we believe in using business as a force for good. Here are a few of our guiding values:

Supporting charities
In the last 6 months we’ve donated over 28,000 meals to dog and cat shelters and we’re not stopping there. We’re always working on ways we can partner with charities of all sizes to help in any way we can, be it fundraising, donations or rolling up our sleeves and volunteering our own time.

Minimising our pawprint on the planet
From the way we work to improve our packaging (which is nearly all compostable or recyclable) to the cleaning products we choose for our office. Every decision has the planet at it’s core.

Being a BCorp and staying a BCorp
We are the founding UK BCorporation and every three years we re-certify by evidencing meeting the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

Fab Veggie offerings 🥕🥦

It’s so great to find some excellent vegetarian foods for our 5 month old veggie puppy. It’s reassuring to know, that we’re feeding him quality ingredients, which he’s thoroughly enjoying. Thank you 🐶💙

Great service good food

We have four kitties that have individual tastes but thankfully they all agree on the Lily’s Kitchen gravy multipack! Has lumps but can easily be mashed for the ones that don’t have many teeth. Good ingredients so I know they are getting good food. Buying direct from Lily’s means I can buy in larger box sizes and available as subscription gives a discount and I don’t have to remember to order each month. Great delivery service very prompt.

Absolute waste of money

Absolute waste of money. My cats used to love this but since it was acquired by nestle the formula has changed, even i can tell it looks/ smells very different, not appealing at all. Complete waste of money.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. I'm sorry to hear your little one isn't enjoying their Lily's Kitchen recipe.

Since 2020 we have had Nestlé Purina as our parent company, however I'd like to reassure you that no compromises have been made to the quality of our ingredients. Our products are not made at Nestlé factories. The way we develop recipes, source natural ingredients, and work with pet nutritionists, vet, and Product Development team has stayed the same. Our team regularly innovate and improve our recipes and have done since Lily’s Kitchen began, and continue to do so independently.

Last summer we did make some changes to our Patés and Tasty Cuts, these recipes have been revamped and updated. Our Shredded in Broth recipes have moved supplier as so you may notice some small changes due to the change of the raw material sourcing.

If you would like to discuss this further, please do get in touch with us at hello@lilyskitchen.co.uk, and we will be more than happy to help.

Smooth pate for mature cats (tiny bones irritate bad teeth)

I bought Lilly's kitchen smooth pate for mature cats (chicken & chicken with cod trays) pack of 8 from pets at home. My cat has dental issues. I bought this food so that it's easier for her to eat. Instead, the pate had so much small bones, these easily irritated my cats teeth and after few bites she left it. I tried to put some water to make it easier for her, instead the water exposed more bones in this. Please note- if your cat has dental issues, this pate is not smooth at all for them as it will severely irritate their teeth. She instantly tries to groom aggressively around her mouth after eating this pate. Please improve the recipe, and know that mature cats are prone to have progressed dental issues and please remove the ingredients (like bones that can feel like needle) in their sensitive teeth.

Good high quality protein food for cats

I buy Lily’s Kitchen cat food for my diabetic cat boy.
Apart from one time where someone at the warehouse mocked up my order, everything is spot on 99% at a time.
They use DPD as delivery service and where I live DPD are also very good.
Their pate selection is really good, no idea if it tastes good but my boy is eating it every day so it must be good.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. I am sorry that your little one did not enjoy one of our recipes.

If this is your little ones' first time trying this recipe, a slow and gradual transition is recommended, as it can help avoid upset tummy and help them get used to the new flavours and smells. With our recipes, we recommend introducing new flavours gradually over the course of about a week.

A good starting point is around 4/5 of your current food mixed with 1/5 of the new recipe, increasing the amount slowly each day. For dogs who are more sensitive, an even slower transition can be helpful.

However, if this wasn’t the first time trying this new flavour or you would like to discuss this further, please do get in touch with us at hello@lilyskitchen.co.uk and we will be more than happy to look into this for you.
