My first trip to Lindsay and Gilmour on Portabello road was a pleasure. Such friendly and helpful staff, especially Karen who went out of her way to help me and give me great advice. I’ve just moved... See more

Terrible staff
I’ve had nothing but issues with the woodburn store every time I’ve needed to pick up prescriptions. Today I called to ask about home deliveries as I had ran out of my contraceptive pill which I need to manage my endometriosis: without the pill I am left with debilitating pain. I have covid so I couldn’t collect. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude to me throughout and left me feeling like a burden for needing medication. This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this way from this member of staff, every interaction I’ve had with her has made me feel unimportant and less than. I will be moving pharmacy to avoid her. Would not recommend to anyone with a chronic condition.

Whoa they have had a staff change at my local branch that I have used for years and it is now embarrassing to see what goes on there....
it’s like being back at school again watching the new pharmacist flex the muscles but it’s quite uncomfortable going in there
Judgemental staff
Re Niddrie Road (Edinburgh) branch
Popped in with my prescription on 1/11/18 at around 5:10 p.m. and checked with a member of staff if one of the items could be provided in a smaller tube. They said no and that’s OK. However the female (dark blond in her early 50s) pharmacist’s comment that I could go and buy a smaller tube for £2 myself was not acceptable. Rude and not realy helpull. She probably finds a pleasure to humiliate patients with long term conditions. Something she possibly should improve in her professional attitude. Will not go there again.
value your time? avoid if at all possible.
Since the regular chemist left the store the Sauchie branch has gone from a well organised busy little pharmacy with a friendly feel to chaos. Mislaid prescriptions and waiting absolutely ages for yours to be dispensed is not good at all. I was lied to when I went to collect my medication a full 2 hours after handing it in. I was told "we only just got the prescription sent on the system from your doctors surgery". No I said I handed it in myself 2 hours ago and I'm here to collect. I left after muttering a few choice words including the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is bloody doing here. Other than the word bloody I did NOT say any other "bad" words. I got home and the phone rang. It was Lindsay and Gilmour telling me that I am now banned from the store hahahaha. Whoever is running the place now is clearly a pathetic excise for a human being. They mess up and take it out on the customer. I called their head office and was told they would look into it and call me back. Now 2 weeks on and I have heard NOTHING hence the review. Avoid if you value your health. Mine isn't the only bad experience as I found out when telling others. Seems to be issues across the board ALL relating to management and the pharmacist. There are some great staff there that have been there for quite a while so this review is by no means any reflection on them as they weren't involved in my bad experience at all.
