Buggy payout system, virtually nonexistent customer support

Linktree refused to give me my commission payout because apparently I hadn't set up my payout account and payout details, according to my "Earn" tab. Hint: I definitely had done all of this, and if I go to my account settings, it confirms that it's connected to my Stripe account. When I tried to reach customer support, I got "Linky," their insufferable AI bot that had absolutely nothing useful to tell me. When I asked to talk to a representative, "Linky" claimed to be contacting the team. I'm finally giving up on anybody ever responding after about 35 minutes.

I deeply regret using Linktree

I deeply regret using Linktree. What started as a simple way to organise my links turned into a frustrating, expensive mess. Their billing system is borderline predatory — I cancelled my subscription, got confirmation, and yet they kept charging me FOR A WHOLE YEAR. When I tried to resolve it, I was met with a chatbot loop and minimal human support. It felt like they were intentionally making it impossible to cancel.

When I finally got through, their support team was either confused or completely unhelpful.

The platform itself has gone downhill. They removed basic customisation features. For a service that claims to help with branding, it’s ironic how little control you actually have over your page.

I also noticed my Linktree links underperform in ads.
Facebook campaigns with Linktree URLs got significantly less engagement than direct links to my site. It’s like the extra click and cluttered menu just turns people off.

Honestly, I wish I’d built my own landing page from the start. Linktree feels like a trap — poor design, poor support, and a billing system that borders on unethical. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone serious about their online presence.

They will not remind you of Auto RenewaL on purpose

They DO NOT send any email notification that your plan is up for renewal - they just renewed my account with no reminder whatsoever. I linked easily to an agent through chat - as soon as they realized that I was requesting a refund for a charge from just 3 days (that I did not even know had happened until I logged into my credit card account) - they completey ghosted me. Horrible customer service and unethical practices.

$390 a month... Suuuuure

$390 a month...
Check out their website and plans. Says i can get a pro plan for $10.50AUD a month.
Create a free account & play around to see if i like the setup. Go to use a pro feature and it says get 7 days free! And then it's only $260 a month paid yearly or $390 a month. I can literally get to checkout and it's trying to charge me $3120! Is this a joke or are they literally trying to rob me for some links to things. Jumped on support, a chat bot told me a human will be in touch shortly... 3 hours later I talk to someone who doesn't tell me what the solution is, how long it will be, if that's even the correct pricing or a system error, no "don't pay that! that's definitely not right!"... no real help whatsoever. Not even sure it's worth the $10.50 a month if this is the support you get..

UPDATE:
24 Hours later i logged in this morning to see now response from my human support chat from their urgent team after telling me to wait in the chat.
I was pleased to see the price went down to $14 a month (Still not the $10.50 they initially advertised...)
Then a few hours later checking to see if i've got a reply (which i still havent), now the price is $31 a month. What is going on? Their subscription price for pro is changing completely randomly every few hours!!!
Will post back here when they decide its $300,000 a month

They stole my money

They stole my money. Here's how:

On August 4, 2024, they sent notification of autorenew.
On August 6, 2024, I notified them I wanted to cancel. That same day, I received confirmation from Arianna that my account was canceled.
On August 8, 2024, THEY PROCEEDED TO CHARGE MY ACCOUNT $90 FOR AUTORENEW, DESPITE MY CANCELLING.
I repeatedly requested confirmation of cancellation. Each time, they confirmed it was canceled.
Today, I received another notice of renewal. TURNS OUT, LINKTREE NEVER CANCELED MY AUTORENEW IN AUGUST 2024, NEVER PROVIDED A REFUND. I wasn't notified until it came up again on 7/26/2025.

They direct me to endless AI chatbots and links to Change my Payment Plan.

Linktree, once they have your credit card, WILL KEEP AUTORENEWING, despite confirmations of cancellations and requests by the customer to cancel.

Screenshots of email communication available upon request.

Horrible customer servixe

I have Linktree. I have been trying to get into my account. I have recently changed my phone number. I sign in with my email it sends me a code I put it in then it immediately it sends me a code for my phone number and without that old number there is no way to sign it. It makes absolutely zero sense. I have messaged with 2 different people for 3 days now and still no resolution and it takes forever. Is there not a phone number to speak with an actual person? I have 2 days before I go live with my business and if no resolution I will be forced to go a different route. This is horrible costumer service. Any help? Anybody there? Anyone?
Some one emails me it’s the same answer over and over but NO help what so ever or follow up

I'm very dissatisfied with the new update, especially in regards to design. Now I find it almost impossible to change it to the color scheme I want. Unlike most places which allow you to enter hex codes for colors, Linktree has no such option. Previously there were several options for premade themes as well, both on the free and pro plans; now there's maybe 4 available. Nothing happens when I click on share feedback or ask a question, but I'm able to access help center right next to those buttons.

Terrible experience.

Terrible experience.

I’ve wasted days trying to recover access to my Linktree account, and support has been completely useless.
They keep replying without reading my messages properly, confusing my name, my email, and the issue itself.

I’ve sent multiple screenshots, explained everything clearly from the beginning, and still got nowhere.

As a professional managing multiple client profiles, this has caused me financial loss, client frustration, and total distrust in the platform.

If you rely on Linktree for work — don’t.
They are not ready to support professional use.

Linktree Is Running a Subscription Trap — Reporting as Cyber Fraud

Linktree Is Running a Subscription Trap — Reporting as Cyber Fraud

I signed up for a temporary Linktree subscription and tried to cancel before the billing date. I never received the verification code to log in and cancel — even after multiple attempts, resends, and checking all folders (spam/junk/etc.). Without that code, there's no way to cancel, and no way to access billing settings. This seems intentional.

I contacted support — no response. I’ve seen others complain about the same issue: no way to cancel, auto-renewal kicks in, and they charge your card regardless. This is not just bad service — it’s predatory.

I'm treating this as cyber fraud and am reporting it to:

My bank for unauthorized billing

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

The Better Business Bureau (BBB)

And if needed, my local Attorney General’s office

I recommend everyone avoid Linktree until they fix this system. Any company that makes canceling this hard — and ignores requests — is not to be trusted.

Ydelle support is horrible

Ydelle and her team weren’t helpful towards me. I emailed Linktree support explaining that I accidentally changed my username and requested that the username be given back to me because when I searched up the username it tells me no one has the username but when I type the username in to change it back which I did instantly after accidentally changing my name it said it was taken. She told me it’s associated with a different email and has been claimed already which I suspect to be a lie because she doesn’t want to give it back even though I showed proof of me owning the username or because Linktree themselves took my username

i signed up today, looking to cancel right away

i signed up today, had issues all day, AI agent said that there is nothing they can do and to just terminate the conversation without working it out. i then try on Facebook and Instagram to reach out. i am left on read with no reply. Has to be one of the worst experiences i have had.

No contact number, not very helpful either. do your research, choose an alternative that will value your business.

Extremely Disappointed – Ongoing Technical Issues and Zero Real Support

I’ve been dealing with recurring technical issues on Linktree for weeks, and the customer support has been beyond frustrating.

My links randomly stop working — especially the ones from affiliate programs like Hulu or HelloFresh — while Amazon links work inconsistently. I’ve tested this across multiple devices, browsers, and networks. The issue clearly lies within Linktree, not Instagram or Safari as the support team keeps insisting.

Every time I reach out, I receive canned responses or get blamed for something that is not my fault. No one actually investigates or escalates the issue properly.

This problem is affecting my business, my traffic, and my potential income. The lack of responsibility and transparency is unacceptable for a platform that claims to support creators and entrepreneurs.

If Linktree cannot guarantee reliable link delivery, then it is not a trustworthy service. I’m extremely disappointed and will strongly reconsider continuing with this platform.

I was double charged for my account…

I was double charged for my account after switching my updating my payment info and I also downgraded because their pro plan is junk. When contacting customer service, I got zero help. He said he couldn't see anything on his end and kept giving me the run around. Yet you could see everything under my account including that I updated my card and they charged it and my old card. Refused to help and then started to harass me saying he wanted to shut my account down. The fact he couldn't do his own job nor get someone who knows what they're doing is absolutely ridiculous. There's too many other options out there to keep such a basic landing page.

The service is considerably overpriced.

The service is considerably overpriced.
Also, the second year, the amount charged was so expensive I'm still shocked. they didn't notify us before taking the money.
Nothing we could do, even if we ended up not using their service, we were still charged.
For a service that target poor artists, this is a shame.

A scam disguised as an auto-renewal subscription

I was charged by Linktree on May 1st, 2025 without any prior warning, email reminder, or payment confirmation. No notification at all that the subscription was about to renew. I only found out about the charge on May 5th by checking my bank account manually.

When I contacted support, they refused a refund based on their strict "72-hour" policy — completely ignoring the fact that a weekend made it impossible to react in time. This policy feels deliberately designed to trap users into missing the refund window.

No transparency, no respect for users. I strongly advise against using this service. These practices are borderline illegal. Check your subscriptions carefully — Linktree won’t warn you before charging your card.

Watch Out, They are Scammers

I was recently charged $90 for a year of pro Linktree account. Of course, I didn’t want this to happen so I reached out to them when I found out. I was told that they could cancel my subscription, but they cannot refund the $90 since it’s been more than 72 hours. I said ok. Then they cancelled my subscription, kept my money and took away the year long subscription that I’ve already paid for. Telling me I still have the free service. How are you going to keep my money and take what I’ve already pay for as well? Keep my money and the product that is already paid for is stealing. You are stealing at this point.
