The platform pressures its teachers to "adhere" to a policy that involves teaching everyone, regardless of whether the students' needs, approach, and profile match the teacher's profile. I had unacceptable first contacts that never led to trial lessons, but support insisted I take on this student. This student asked inappropriate questions, making it clear they were not interested in learning the language but were looking for something else. Support is so concerned about attracting new clients that they forget who their real clients are—the teachers and existing students who bring in monthly commissions. Their support sides with the students and does not care much about the teachers. I spoke with other teachers on the platform who faced the same issue. Information for potential students—once you sign up for lessons, you won't be supported either. It doesn't matter whether you stay or not; what matters are new students. No one cares whether your teacher meets your needs or teaches you well. By the way, most teachers there have no certifications or education because the fee a teacher receives per lesson is laughably low compared to their competitors. Half of the fee that a student pays per lesson goes to the platform. Guess how many real teachers agree to this. I left the platform when I realized it was not worth my effort. They underpay their teachers and create stressful working conditions.
