Thieves and time wasting company

I am a big fan of make up and beauty products and have purchased a few Liz Earle products over the years and found them to be ok. None have ever wowed me but they have been alright for the price paid.

What I don’t think is ok is that Liz Earle, who are a big brand and company, think it is ok to waste my time and steal my answers to surveys that I have spent 20+ minutes on each time, giving them my honest thoughts and opinions on their potential new products they are developing.

This is not the first time that I have wasted my time giving Liz Earle my opinions on their products to only be rejected for absolutely no reason at all right at the end of a long survey that has wasted 20+ minutes of my life filling out.

So sadly, I will no longer be giving Liz Earle any more of my money or purchasing their products, nor will I spend another minute of my precious time answering their surveys to be cheated over a measly 50p. If a company thinks it is ok to steal from people then I will no longer support that brand or buy from them. I will also be telling all my friends and family, some of which do use Liz Earle skincare products what a shower of number twos Liz Earle is.

And just for the record; when I filled in the surveys I:

1/ took my time
2/ was polite and truthful with my answers
3/ gave thoughtful and proper responses
4/ was consistent with my answers

Awful products

Awful products. I never get spots but after using the skin repair moisturizer my skin has broken out badly. The toner made my face get a bad rash . Expensive stuff that ruins your skin. Avoid

As with millions of others

As with millions of others, I am very disappointed with the products now. They literally have no scent, it’s like using water to tone your face!
And what has Liz Earl got to say about this? After all it’s in her name still, and she’s letting this happen!

I have recently started to use Liz…

I have recently started to use Liz Earle products as introduced by a friend. I am in my 50s and always used good products
I find Liz Earle to be excellent. My skin Doesn’t feel sticky like others but feels and looks smooth and glowing . I use the full cleansing routine with brightening drops and serums- day and night.
Highly recommend and will continue to try all products in the range

Bought two perfumes from Liz Earl, returned both. Was advised nothing wrong. Purchase well in excess of £100. Have used LE for over 20 years. Will never use company again. Appalling customer care.

Oh my goodness I’ve just purchased some of the range on recommendations from who I was told was an independent beauty consultant working at Boots she directed me toward Liz Earle products and someone was there to talk me through I purchased some of the range - just tried my skin is burning and uncomfortable just read reviews and realise I have been duped by Boots shocked that such a large company uses underhand trucks for poor products

Leave it alone

I have been using Liz Earl from age 29 and now 55! I am absolutely devastated that the original formulas have been changed. I am particularly dependent on Eyebright as I suffer from dry, irritable eyes, exacerbated since perimenopause. It is the only produce that soothes my eyes. I am disgusted that it has changed and no longer works. Not sure what I am going to do now to manage my condition. As for the skin repair, again, so disappointed. I actually cannot tolerate the smell. Why oh why do you change products that are timeless, work, and are successful? The fact Liz Earl is so successful is because her products worked and now they have been destroyed.

Liz Earle products

Just about to order some Liz Earle products and fortunately read the reviews. Thank you them, I have now changed my mind. One item, which I was not going to purchase for obvious reasons was marked at over £2000.00 on the website. Someone must be having a laugh.

Cheap reformulations and misleading marketing

Since Boots (the new owner of Liz Earle) rejected my honest review of the changes to Liz Earle products I thought I’d post here to warn other potential customers.

I’ve used C&P and Skin Tonic for many many years and loved the brand so restocked 3 bottles of skin tonic last year in a 3for2 deal having read that only the bottle had changed to be more environmentally friendly but the product remained the same. This proved not to be the case - the new formula was soapy and slimy and left a sticky residue on my face. Just revolting and I needed to recleanse before applying make-up. So I was thrilled to see they said they had listened to customers and reverted to the original bottle and formula. However this is just a misleading marketing claim and simply not true. Whilst I can’t be certain about the other ingredients it just doesn’t feel the same on my skin and the scent is completely different from the original so it is NOT the same and another bottle and more money down the drain. Liz Earle and it’s new owner Boots are purposely misleading customers leveraging the brands previous excellent reputation and swapping out ingredients for cheaper ones by stealth while telling customer it is the original formula - you should be ashamed of yourselves and I hope you are reported to the ASA. Liz Earle you have lost my custom for good.

Terrible products, awful customer service

I’m another loyal customer of 20+ years, deciding to change to another brand. I have used LE for many years and recommended to a lot of friends. Previously products were good, but due to changes in the formula/ingredients the products now are very poor quality and something that you would expect to pay for 25% of the cost. They also smell terrible as well. Customer service is also very poor, I recently queried something and told one thing to then be told something completely different by another person. When I asked them to tell me where this was mentioned on the website it was buried in some policy. How many people read policies when purchasing from a website? I was left with the feeling that I was ripped off & and will not be purchasing from LE again. The company clearly do not value long standing loyal customers.

I am appalled

I am appalled. I tried to order 8 shampoos etc for my family who live abroad and only see me once a year. The company happily took my money (a lot!) and then cancelled it with the explanation that I was not buying this for personal use. No apologies, complete arrogance. Will never use them again.

Moisturisers not moisturising!

I'm new to Liz Earle products having been bought a gift set as a birthday present. I initially thought it was lovely & have replaced a few items. However I'm now realising that the Skin Tonic leaves a sticky residue. Also more importantly the night cream I can still feel on my face before cleansing in the morning. That concerns me as I'm spending all this money on moisturisers which at 60yrs young my skin really needs, yet clearly not being absorbed overnight. When I've asked in Boots all they say is use less! I don't feel I overuse either, particularly with the prices. I now feel I've recently wasted £80 on the products I've replaced from my original birthday bundle.
When these are used up I will look for alternatives, particularly moisturisers!

Changes, not for the better!

I have used Liz Earle for a few years now so fairly new to the brand. I was very happy with the few products I use and started to expand my usage as my previous brand products ran out. No more! There have been changes: Useless packaging (the metal tube and dreadful cap that is hard to screw on), changes in formula, Eyebright, changes in texture, Cleanse and Polish! Their best sellers, I imagine.
What is this company doing! They may justify this on the grounds of going for volume sales rather than customer loyalty but the reviews here say it all. For Liz Earle, the customer is not important. Very disappointed.

Bring back original moisturiser please!!!

Like lots of people, I was gutted when the formulation for the original skin repair moisturiser was changed. I made the switch to La Roche Posey but it’s just not doing it for me, my skin has never been the same. In desperation, I recently bought the new formula Liz Earle, not realising that it absolutely stinks. It is burning my face and the smell makes me nauseated all day long. For a £25 cream, it is disgusting and an absolute waste of money. The old moisturiser was perfect, please bring it back!

Why compromise the brand

Like many I am so disappointed to post this review.
I have used Liz Earle products exclusively for years and saddened they have made a conscious decision to put profit over reputation.
Why? I have just binned £68 worth of my usual products as my skin is reacting badly and will not buy any more.

Over 20 years of customer loyalty.....

Yep like many on here been using Liz Earle facial products for over 20 years but now need to find alternatives, the new formulations for skin tonic and superskin moisturiser mean I have spots after using them for a few weeks. The toner is soapy and the superskin moisturiser is slimy and doesnt soak in in the same way as the old style. Very sad and whilst they are apparently bringing back the old toner formulation I wont be back until they do the same with the superskin moisturiser.
