Last yea, r Jonathon sharpened my knives for the holiday season - awesome job - I am sorry I did not write earlier - he did a very professional job at s great price and fast. Each knife was wrapped in edge protectors - I wish I had done this before. I had a formal 7 course meal for 20 and my guests - some of whom like to cook with me - loved the razor sharpness of my knives.

I had 4 of my good knives sharpened at Local Root. The finished product has been just wonderful. In addition, the tip of my 8" Henckels chefs knife had snapped off a couple of years ago and it was returned to me sharpened to a nice point! Thank you.

It is so much easier to prepare material in the kitchen with a really sharp knife. After bringing my array to the Local Root, food preparation is so much easier. However, my knives are so sharp that I must be extra careful when I use them.

I brought several knives in for sharpening. I had never been there before and I received Prompt courteous service, from a very friendly,pleasant, staff. I was not aware of the extensive kitchen retail items and will definitely return and recommend.

After having my high quality German knives sharpened at another local sharpening service for several years, I noticed that they weren't quite as sharp and easy to use as they had been in years past. Switching to the sharpening services at Local Root brought my knives back to their best and it's a joy to use them again! Worth every penny and having an excuse to peruse the amazing selection at the store is an added bonus!

I brought my one of a kind, handmade, Japanese chef knife if for sharpening and was thrilled with the result. I paid a few dollars extra for the hand sharpening which still seemed like an extremely fair price for the result. My knife came back extremely sharp and was well cared for. No question I will bring my knives here in the future for sharpening.

I have had my 2 chef's knives (Henckels - standard and Shun - whetstone) sharpened at many different places over the last 10 years. Local Root did the best job by far. The knives look beautiful and cut like new. My mother was recently visiting from out of town and was so impressed she is planning to bring her knives on her next visit to get them sharpened at Local Root as well. I will be bringing my knives here from now on.

I had an excellent experience here getting my knives sharpened. I have three Wusthof knives- 1 chef's knife and two santoku knives. I love cooking and use them almost constantly. I dropped in and was attended to immediately. They were done in 48 hours and very considerately sheathed for safe transport. The quality of the work was exceptional and they really could not have made the process any more simple. They also included a small card with tips on how to take good care of my knives on a daily basis, which I appreciated a lot. Very fair pricing and excellent customer service. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to take good care of their knives.

I have been to Local Root a couple of times since its opening. Back when the Grand Opening was anticipated, they were handing out free knife sharpening cards at the Belmont Town Day. I held tight to that free card, and when I finally made it into the shop (which was over a year later), I was delighted to hear that the owner/manager fully intended to honor the complimentary service. I even impressed the manager with my ability to retain the card for such a long time. In any case, I brought in my favorite mini chef's knife, and I have been thrilled with the quality of the sharpening. It's better than new! Local Root has all the wonderful tools that make a cook want to browse for an or two. I look forward to returning.

knife sharpening services are THE BEST....after years of really poor knife sharpening gadgets and folks posing as knife sharpening experts, I tried Didriks with thought that I probable just needed new knives....wow, 30 plus year old Sabatier (sp?) knives are like brand new (and no one tried sell me new knives !)
