Great tasty products,service is good,delivery was sufficient ,packaging was excellent.

Great unboxing experience, you can immediately see the effort and care that went in.
I didn't care for the cheese straws but everything else was epic.
Highly recommend this for those of you that want to try new flavours without having to go find them yourself.

I just received my first Local Roots sample box and I’m genuinely blown away. This isn’t just another subscription box - it’s a love letter to South African makers.

Local Roots was started by two young entrepreneurs who travel to local markets across Durban, Pretoria’s Boeremark, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, and beyond to handpick products from local artisans. Every month they curate a luxury box of samples from these small businesses, and it’s such a brilliant way to support handmade entrepreneurship while discovering hidden gems.

The presentation is next level - the box arrives with a beautiful ribbon, and the paper with the Local Roots emblem has this velvety smooth finish that you just want to touch. It even features our SA protea. You can tell real care goes into every detail.

What I love most is that every item in the box tells a story of a local creator, and subscribing means you get a new luxury surprise each month. It feels like supporting your own community while treating yourself.

"Local Roots".... The name itself has sentiment to it and tugs at your heartstrings. This is how it all began for me.

When I first heard the name I was all in because it's local and, being a "support local" fanatic, I would support it without a second thought. It was instinctive.

But instinct changed to deliberate intention when I received my box.

The rustic look and natural feel just set the tone for me because it oozed "hand crafted" vibes. I was shocked at how well thought out and presented this was. The products were visible and the kraft theme followed through the brand as a whole.

Looks aside, the products are of such high quality I couldn't believe it was all made locally. I mean seriously who ever heard of a biscoff cookie? 🤯. The cheese straws were still crispy fresh and not something I had any regrets about. The thing that actually set me off was the cranberries and macadamia nuts, this was a combination I would never have thought of and is my absolute favorite. 🤤🤤🤤.

The experience was something I'll never forget because instead of just being a patriot for the cause, I felt like I got rewarded for it. To know that this is done by 2 humble gentleman with humble hearts and hands makes me even more proud to support Local Roots.

The initiative behind this is so much more than getting treats and I know this is going to extremely successful. Continue the great work you are doing and giving us the great quality products.

Excellent curation of local made snacks! There's something for everyone from decadent sweet cookies to spicy biltong. The website offers an excellent 'tasting room' experience where you can know more details about each snack. Looking forward to see how the boxes evolve each month!
