We had a wonderful experience with Locauto. We rented a car for one week in july of 26, checked it out in Bari city center and drove it back to the airport.
The car was the one we picked when making the reservation on the website (a Fiat Panda, manual, enough for two people). It was a bit dirty (roads can be dusty in the area), it was otherwise in perfect condition. We opted for the "no worry" insurance, and we indeed did not worry ! It was a good value for money.
We checked the car back without any trouble, the agent simply checked the gas tank. An hour later, I had received the paperwork saying that everything was good.
Last but not least, both the people that took care of us were nice, efficient, and explained everything extremely clearly. I can only recommend to rent a car with them !

This reservation was setup using booking com an in using that very popular platform we felt secure in the OVERALL high rating reviews of this car rental company Locauto. First time and will absolutely use again in Italy. Just map out the exact location for pickup. FIND blue & white company logo flag. So quick and friendly. If you have luggage keep one person at the office and walk a short distance they “bring” the car to you down by the corner near the pickup. No need to drag your luggage onto the cobblestone uneven streets. Drop off super easy they text you EXACT instructions. However, use GOOGLE using the address and compare the pictures of the ticket and gate entrance of the parking garage. This is how we knew we were in the RIGHT location. ALWAYS take prior pictures of the rental this is your proof but they will email you a “sign-off” document stating those damages were the same at drop off. Hope all these notes are helpful. Ps. BUY $ the protection insurance because driving in Italy can be very difficult in the older parts of cities. Lots of reviews say to rent from the airport but that location is not always cheaper. We came by train at Bari Statione Centrale however took our luggage by taxi to the nearby hotel. Then we walked to the Locauto location which was the better plan and not drag luggage from train to rental car company. We stayed at JR Hotel Bari Grande Albergo which we highly recommend for a 1-2 day stay and then head out to Puglia areas. Arrivederci 5 STARS for LOCAUTO price and staff very helpful.

The car itself was excellent - mechanically perfect, comfortable, and served us well throughout the rental period. However, I was disappointed with two important
aspects:
1. Cleanliness: The vehicle was delivered dirty, both inside and out. I'm not sure if this was an oversight, but I expected a higher standard of cleaning.
2. Drop-off location: I was not informed in advance that the return point would be
different from the pick-up location.
Besides the confusion, we had to walk about 15 minutes carrying heavy luggage in extreme heat, which made the end of our trip quite stressful and uncomfortable.

All process really smooth, easy to understand and explained. the sales representatives helped me get a last minute car in no time. I can't remember his name but happy with the service. the price is not the cheapest but not the most expensive.
