Im gesamten waren wir mit Locauto zufrieden aber es reicht leider nicht für 5 Sterne. Die Mitarbeiter in Palermo und Catania waren sehr freundlich. Das Auto (Jeep Renegade) war in einem ausgezeichneten Zustand sowie auch die Bereifungen. Aber da gibt es noch ein wenig Luft nach oben. Bei der Abholung wurden wir nicht von einem Mitarbeiter begleitet der uns den Wagen vorstellte und uns die Bedieneinheiten erklärte (fündig wurden wir zb. in Google wo die Lautstärke vom Radio eingestellt wird (auf der Rückseite im Lenkrad)). Das Auto haben wir über Booking.com gebucht mit einer "Versicherung Komplettschutz". Bei der Abholung wurde uns die "don't worry" empfohlen weil der Komplettschutz nicht alles abdecken würde. Schlussendlich haben wir uns dazu überreden lassen und diese Versicherung gewählt. Aber da wäre ein preisliches Entgegenkommen schon schön gewesen wenn man jetzt doppelt versichert ist. Und zuletzt der Abgabeort in Catania. Der Abgabeort im Link ("www locautorent.com en car-rental locations sicily catania airport/") stimmt nicht. Der befindet sich im Parkhaus gegenüber.
Trotz allem würden wir Locauto weiter empfehlen weil alles im Gesamten gepasst hat.

Despite these issues, we would still recommend Locauto, as the overall experience was positive.

Service and Quick delivery and return. Car in excellent State and as good as new.
It was a suprise that the price that you book gets a other dimension when you want a insurance and fuel option pakket. The price is then like all the other car rentals.

After great experience with Locauto Catania city branch, we used Locauto again, this time in Palermo. Car took a sweet time to get ready for pick-up because of the baby seat, even though we ordered that before on-line. Gentleman on the counter was a little pushy about their overprices inaurance. Lady who introduced the car for is was nice and helpful. Main downside for us was the car itself. We ordered an Opel Corsa and got MG ZS, an SUV. This might seem like an upgrade on paper but in Sicilian cities, not so much. Essentially worse fuel economy and smaller trunk than my own VW Golf. Even though the car was modern, phone cannot be connected for Android auto without physical USB cable, which is astonishing in 2026. Also Android Auto disconnected occasionally, not very practical in traffic. Drop-off in Palermo Airport was quick and efficient, all good in this regard.

We have heard of other turists that its always a problem when they rent cars in sicilia so we were a little bit on our toes.,but., everything was smooth Sailing whit this company.. everything was very easy, both picking car up and leaving it

All in all a very good experience to rent the car with Locauto, Palermo. Professional staff, easy and quick pick up and return. The car was in perfect conditions. Wouldn't doubt to repeat.

The man who checked out our rental car in Palermo was quite rude

The man who checked in our car in Catania was lovely. So was the woman who helped us to adjust our reservation timing. Car was clean and drove well. Price was fair too

Everything went as planned. No issues at all.

The experience was pretty straight forward but a bit officious. We nearly came unstuck when we had to pay for the car. My partner had our credit card activated on her phone but the car rentals company wouldn't accept that as a form of payment. Luckily I had my money travel card which worked but it pretty much wiped out the cash I had for the holiday. This may well be SOP but we didn't know and it nearly ruined our holiday. That said, the car was new, clean and straightforward so not complaints on that score.
