Had a last minute booking late night at Trieste airport, and the staff were super helpful and flexible to sort the rental out. I then decided to extend the rental - calling them, and again it was done with great support. Return to the airport was simple and hassle free. I highly recommend using them.

We had an extremely poor experience with Locauto in Trieste. After waiting nearly two hours with two young children just to collect the car, the service only got worse. There was little to no assistance provided, especially when it came to essential items like car seats. One staff member openly admitted she couldn’t help because she “doesn’t have kids” and made no effort to find someone who could.

The car seat we were eventually given was completely unsuitable — flimsy, outdated, and not fit for purpose. We were left struggling in the searing heat with our children while staff prioritised other customers.

A note to the response from customer service here - We did not ask a member of staff to install the seat for us. As the seat was so old, we simply asked for advice about how to securely fit it - it was of extremely poor quality and not secure in the slightest.

To make matters worse, after returning the car in perfect condition, we were hit with unexpected charges of €190 for so-called “damages.” These charges were never clearly explained, and we are still waiting for any photographic evidence to justify them.

This experience felt disorganised at best and dishonest at worst. Compared to car rental services in Ireland, the difference in professionalism and customer care is stark.

I would strongly advise against using this company. What appears to be a cheaper option may end up costing you far more in stress, time, and questionable extra charges.

Everything to do with the car worked great. I am particularly happy with how responsive Locauto were when I needed to contact them about extending the rental, and how smoothly that went.

They offered bigger car as we were with child and child seat would not fit to it. Great service, took 5 minutes to return car!

Staff were good, helpful, easy process. Car was mechanically fine and equipment likewise. However, the seats stank of sweat and a nasty deodorant from whoever sat there earlier, that was grim.
