I have struggled with my weight for years. This is the easiest thing i have ever done. Great app - slow weight loss….but doesnt care what you eat just helps keep tabs on quantity. I love exercising- which works great because of bonus calories. I have lost over 50 lbs and continue using app as a lifestyle change. Over 700 days
For me, the hardest part of weight loss is starting a program to lose weight. But once I finally do, I usually find it's not as hard as I feared. This is especially true using the lose it app. I had gained over 20 pounds during the pandemic and finally made up my mind to do something about it. Once I started calorie counting and limiting portions it was easy and even fun to watch the pounds come off. I lost 22 pounds in about three months. my favorite thing about this app is it has really opened my eyes as to how caloric certain foods I used to eat regularly are. I still eat whatever I want, but I keep my portions low and limit sugary treats, without avoiding them altogether. I highly recommend this app, and if you wait to go pro, they send special offers for the pro version at about half price.
BUYER BEWARE!!!!My trial was up, got a text or email about purchasing lifetime subscription, one time offer, yada yada. It did not say you have to buy the premium in order to get the lifetime offer. So now I have concurrent subscriptions that I cannot get a refund for. Love the app, but this is bs. Wish I never touched it. RIP OFF!!!!
Loved the app until recent ad changes that prevent logging; can’t escape or return. Fail!
The ad remains even when you close the app and return. Attempts to finish posting calorie intake requires a delay of minutes to hours. They seem determined to make users go ad-free. Fail!
Be careful -- it auto renews. I barely remember signing up for the program and haven't used it in years! I just now caught the auto-renew today. There is no way to get a refund...so what a waste.
Cannot reset goals in software despite following the steps outlined in the support section. Tried other sequences from online sources. Clunky, inflexible interface. The other modules work satisfactorily, like other health apps.
Horrible. My credit card fraud department just contacted me about a $39 charge. Never alerted about a fee, never alerted a subscription fee was coming due. Trying to contact a person is impossible for me to find. Why would a legitimate business not notify someone a service not previously charged for is now being charged? This is deceitful. My credit card was canceled by the fraud department and I am waiting for a new credit card. They flagged this vendor and alerted me of the activity. Do not do business with this company. Only deal with companies that provide you with direct contacts for problem resolution, that is a toll free phone number and email address vs the do not reply email address they sent me.
Social aspect gives a lot of bad advice and bullying. There's no way to block people
I use the free version and have done on and off for a few years. This time round I'm going to stick with it and actually get the weight off for good.
Tracking can be hit or miss depending on who's original data it was but you can click 'verified only' which will give you most accurate calories
I really like this app - I started it as I had used Noom for 2 years, and was really just at a point where I really just needed a good way to log my food and weight. Their food database is easily as good as Noom's (which was a key to my sticking with it, and I needed something as easy to use and as equally comprehensive. I have 3 software comments/critiques: 1) if we can copy our breakfast from the day before, why can't we do the same for all the other meals? would seem like a no-brainer; 2) would love to see a small graph of weight log entries in the same location as where I enter current days' weight; 3) would love to be able to change one or more of the ingredients to a recipe for the immediate use without it changing the saved recipe.
Otherwise, pretty great/easy to use - thanks!
Bummet! Two stars
Two stars, and yet, I love the way the program is designed. If only it worked! I haven't used it for a long time so needed a fresh start. I got it all set up to begin with my current weight on a particular date. It showed that the setup was complete. I updated the information. Now, it refers back to that date, but with an old weight. It does not show the weight I posted in the new information. Consequently, the daily weight loss is not accurate!
I downloaded the app, it basically forces you to choose the premium plan, so with that I tried to use it. There is no diet plan, absolutely nothing.
Lose It! is by far the most intuitive, customizable, and complete diet tracking app I have used. I tried MyFitnessPal and used Fitbit for years and, nothing against either of those fine apps, but Lose It! is far superior to both in my opinion, especially when teamed with the Apple Watch. I recommend Lose It! to anyone looking for a good diet/nutrition tracking program.
the app edit and navigation is convoluted. I spent more time trying to edit "mistakes" I made than doing anything else. Instruction are nonexistent. It appears to have the possibility for a very good system but navigation and edit of app is impossible.
Editing requires line by line add or removal of items. Just one of many operational issues.
I really wanted this to work. Could not find the Rosetta Stone to explain some basics to move quickly around system and correct posting errors etc.
I have always struggled with my weight since a teen... I'm 5ft 9in. When I married in 1993, I weight 150lbs, after having 5 babies, each pregnancyhad gestational diabetes and I just kept packing on the pounds. I eventually got up to at least 285lbs and very unhappy with myself.
I have tried many many diets and never successfully.
I learned about Lose It and I love it!
It was tough at first, because I just really wasn't aware of just how much I was over eating. Lose It made me aware and trained me to rethink about how much I am eating. After maybe 2 or 3 months I got to where I could just look at my plate and think to myself... oh no you don't, that's way to many calories
I went from 285 to 165 in 14 months.
I blew my diet on a few occasions, but over all stuck with it... the first 6 weeks or so was the hardest, I wanted to eat more than Lose It suggested... but old habits are hard to break, and this program really helped me retrain myself and create better eating habits. I highly recommend it to people all the time.
While using Lose It, It made me aware of how many calories are in the foods I enjoy, so to stick to the caloric intake suggested, I just had to learn portion sizes and work those special foods I love into the program... I still ate and eat everything I love, not to many changes, just the portion size changes.
Cheesecake is my deadly sin, and I still was and still am able to enjoy my Cheesecake... I just had/have to plan it into the day and make smaller food portion sacrifices to work it in.
I have and have always had the FREE VERSION for approx 5 1/2 years now and it works for me.
I sometimes gain back a few pounds and turn back to the program and log my foods to help count calories and get me back on track.
YES I USE JUST THE FREE VERSION, cuz I'm that cheap! AND IT WORKS GREAT, for me. I HAVE BEEN USING THE FREE VERSION FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS ...and have kept my weight down for 5 yrs.
I have never had any of the issues others are mentioning , being charged, emails, customer service issues, but have never needed customer service. I do get a pop up when I first open the app asking if I want to upgrade and I just "x" it closed each time...NOT ONE SINGLE ISSUE FOR ME!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LOSE IT
wishing I could download a pic to prove my success using it
I thought it was a 7 day trial and THEN I could decide whether to use it or not. Instead it was calorie counting (which I didn't want). I was charged the $43 and they got free money and I'm not using it. I tried to get a refund through my bank and they couldn't help either. Beware users.
Lose It is the best weight loss app that I have tried. Better than My Fitness Pal and better than "noom". They give you enough calories to lose weight at your own pace (less calories if you want to go faster, obviously). I can link a fitbit to it and I can add my own meals/foods. It does remind you to log your meals but doesn't nag you and you can turn the reminders off.
This is a really excellent calorie tracking app. If you pay the minimal annual charge, it's even better. I especially like: that you can quickly log and edit previous meal combinations, save recipes, calculate a fraction of something (eg .25 of a choc bar or recipe) and there has been literally no item I have been unable to find, either by name or bar code. It also links to my fitbit. I am waffling on, but it is so great when something works better than expected!
Just looked this app. Did NOT confirm my email address but nevertheless my Free trial has started and I CAN’T, after trying different platforms and following app advice, see anywhere where I can unsubscribe!! I’m assuming that this is because Loseit will take the first payment after trial expires regardless!!!! Even if I don’t want to proceed!!! Is this sharp practice???? It seems to have logged a subscription onto my phone which I can’t remove!!! Shocking and annoyingly time consuming! Maybe their diet ploy is to keep you tied up on phone do you don’t have time to eat!🤪
Very good app- I managed to lose 20 lbs in around 2 months, however I was a little irked by it being very American. If I had a can of Coca Cola it would refer to it as “Soda”, biscuits were called “Sugar Cookies”, chocolate bars “candy” and courgettes something else I’ve never heard of. I can swear that where I come from I have never had soda, candy or sugar cookies! Occasionally I would scan the bar code of an item (mostly items from Marks and Spencer’s) and it would come up with an item that was totally different and from an American store.
All these things started to grate a bit after a while, so I stopped using it. I think I will wait for Lose It to offer a proper UK version, with UK names for things in British English.
